    I appreciate you showing the basics that you take for granted. We don't know the small tricks of prep that are necessary for a quality installation. Thanks. On mine I didn't know so I used a small pad sander to slightly rough the surface up for better mechanical bonding. Lot of porcelain dust.

    The Mr. Clean Magic erasers work really well to clean the non-slip part at the bottom of the tub. Also, would you remove the caulk between the tub and the tiles if you are just re-glazing the tub, and then once the glaze is dry, re-caulk?

    • @RefinishedBathSolutions
      @RefinishedBathSolutions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, you will want to remove that caulk as ekopel will not adhere over caulk. When fully dry and harden so about 36-48 hour then can go back in and re-caulk that area.

    My wife did rustoleum tub and tile paint and did our tub. It has peeled twice now snd will need to be 100% stripped for the second time. I don’t think she cleaned it well enough but I can’t be a sure. Do you think I need to buff off the polish on the tub or sand it first for the paint to stick better?

    • @RefinishedBathSolutions
      @RefinishedBathSolutions  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would recommend peeling up what you can of the old finish. Then sand the rest smooth with 400 grit sandpaper. Then give the tub a deep clean with Lysol Power or a toilet bowl cleaner with hydro cleric acid in it. Then dry with a lint free cloth. Then you will be ready for your ekopel application. It's not needed but if you want an extra good stick you could use our primer. It gives Ekopel a better stick but ekopel sticks great on it's own.
