This product actually works very well! It’s all about the prep. I did my tub. This product is not for kitchen sinks though. I used this on my kitchen sink and after about a year it started chipping from getting dinged and scratched.
Thank you for the video brother.. I bought this product over a year ago.. haven't built up enough courage to give it a try till I saw your video. Very good info and technic thank you
Can this be used over a bathtub that has had a similar product applied in the past?
Or does all the old material need to come off?
My situation is small scrapes and scratches in the old “refinishing” product…
Thank you for this instructional video. I’m getting ready to refinish an old claw foot tub.
I'm glad I can help
I’ve watched a lot of videos about redoing a tub. Yours was the best. Only question before I order, after it’s all done and we have been using it, do you use regular bathtub cleaner for cleaning or anything special?
Fabulous is good, you don't have to rinse it, and a lint-free cloth on the instructions. A non-abrasive, non-bleach cleaning product.
They have the kit at Loew's.
It's all in the prep just like paint, and it will last a long time.
Good. Know, how long before using the tub? How long it takes for the tub to fully dry?
They said 48 hours
Thank you for the good demo of the product.
Wait! Before you refinish, take a magic eraser to your tub! Just… try it! Trust me, okay? 🙊 Tried it this evening and saved myself a whole lot of money, work, and grief!
Ouuu im trying this when I get home. 🙂
@@jessicamaguire8905 hope it works out for you too!
Wow really ? The tub in this video look pretty bad
@@cynthiamorgan5222 it's an inexpensive try :). In my case, the bathtub was really bad, but it worked!
It definitely worked for me. ☺️
Do I need to do the sides of my tub or can I just do the bottom?

My tub is tan, will the white cover this?
I would suggest using a respirator you can get them at home Depot, Lowe's,they will come with the proper cartridges, the dust mask is for dust not fumes
Those are the masks they suggest with the kit!! They also suggest a respirator.
Wow, great video! How long does something like this last?
At least til it dries.
After that, all bets are off
Very well explained thank you, do you recommend this product for my tub
Can I use this in a pink bathtub or do I need some kind primer ?
Good, but what if the bath tub has a dent? What product can I use to fill that dent before paint? Gracias.
Bondo
Hey there. Wondering if this can
Be used to spot glaze a tub. My landlord was nice enough to get our tub professionally deglazed last year. We were very careful to stay out of the tub for the recommended time. It looked so good. But after 3 months it started chipping around the drain (revealing the old ugly tub underneath). I contacted the landlord to see if the company guaranteed their work. They did…for 90 days! So now we are left with a 95% good looking tub with 5% chipping. Can I treat just the one spot (about 3-4” across)?
No experience or expertise here, but I’m guessing you could remove the drain plug, they make a tool for that, sand around that area and repaint around that area?just a suggestion, and of course clean area well prior to painting.
@@robertmichalscheck3072 Will give it a try and report back. Thanks (P.S. I re-read my comment and saw that I wrote degalze when, I assume you knew, I meant reglaze. lol)
I have paint chipping at the bottom of mine can I go over it and just cover the bottom
pros will etch a steel tun first. then use hvlp sprayer to prime and then top coat . that way will last. your method is a good short term temporary fix
Thank you for all the tips!! 😊
My pleasure
This was very helpful, thank you!
does it work on porcelain tubs?
Great video man! this video was super helpful.
How about repainting a tub any suggestion?? I did wha you did but the paint flakes on some spots thank
Thank you for your video and fine work.
You welcome
Do they have this HOMAX at Home Depot?
Is this product good for changing the color of the tub? We have a green tub that I would like to change to white.
Yes, remember to clean the tub well
Homax Tough as Tile, like all similar products for tub refinishing, doesn’t last very long. They all flake off after a few months of use. The product doesn’t adhere well to the old tub surface and not pliable enough for bathtub.
My tub is only 1 yr old and the bottom inside the tub is not smooth and has some rust spots do I use this to make it smooth and remove the rust?
The guy from Lowes told me to sand it down
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!
I have been looking for refinishing solutions. This looks must easier than the epoxy that needs to be applied with a trowel. Does it last for several years?
Hugo, is this suitable for different color tubs? I have a yellowish ivory tub that I hate and want to make white. I also have tan tile i want to cover with white. What do you think? Will it work?
It works but there are companies that offer this service for more money but with a stronger product
Good video. How do you get the gloss finish with this? I used it like you show and there was no gloss when dried.
Couple of layers and it did the trick
I got gloss with the third coat. I waited 30 minutes before the next coat.
how long it would last?
I had my bathroom sink done with spraying, but the surface is not smooth, it looks like new, but only with one coating.
could dirt get stuck over time on the bottom of the sink if it’s not smooth, I clean my sink daily after using it..
You might try some form of wet sanding with high grits to polish?
Great explanation. Thank you
You welcome
Hello mr thanks for this video.
In what store I can buy this kind of paint thanks??
Hello, and thanks for watching the videos! You can get the product from the link in the video description or at a Lowes or Home Depot store. Greetings!!👋
Will this work on one those insert tubs from Home Depot??
Thank you!!!
How are your eyes? I ask because I did my tub last night. Didn’t wear pp goggles like you didn’t. This morning my eyelids feel sticky. Sight is fine but I feel like I made a huge mistake. I ran water into my eyes for a few minutes several times.
DJ C clean around your eyes with baby oil carefully , I’m sorry to hear that, it is always important to protect your eyes
😂😂😂rofl why do people try to do this job as DIY just because you see it on TH-cam don’t mean u do it. Hire professional please this stuff is dangerous READ!!!
Great video 👍👍👍
I'm glad I can help
Awesome stuff
Yep
If Merp made a how-to video.
No sanding?
I don’t understand why tape the dain and drain plug cover instead of remove them … I do it in every bathtub I do
How is this holding up now that this video is 2years old?
Great, if the paint is applied as I show here there is no issues
Mine turned out dry and blotchy, used 3 boxes!
Very strange, perhaps the temperature
Mine turned but chalky to lol
Oh nooo
I did this over the weekend but mine is like chalky and not shiny??? Why?!!!
It probably needs more coats and a little more close to the tub
@@HugoCorrea I used two full bottles
Pretty sure this stuff peels quick!
Unnn I don't think so if he use the correct materials.

Ayuda a mi nombre, por favor 🥺🙏
good video, but this spray shit is garbage,
i bought the paint kit, it works perfect hardly any dust IT WAS AWESOME and it was cheaper 36 bucks compared to 47 for this kit.. but good video
Great!! Thank you
thanks for the totally confusing message. Called his spray shit garbage, then, you say you bought "the paint kit," which was cheaper than "this kit."' What the hell are you talking about???!
Worse stuff ever,, followed instruction to t he tee, and it was like a powder coat... don't waist your money
Thank you for the comment
Overkill
Homax needs to discontinue this product, this product is a waste of money and that leads to waste of time. Do not buy this product it is very aweful and toxic
I hope something better is made soon
Too much over spray
In two months will starts pilling off.... no matter how well the surface is prepared.... chip useless product and lying boy...wrrr
The product is good, I did this project about one year ago and it is holding very well
I find it ASTOUNDING that this "expert" painted the tub without first removing the drain and overflow panel. It takes less than 10 minutes to remove them.
This "expert was asked to paint the tub, they had to have the plumber ensuring that the drain system was properly removed. Thank you for watching
@@HugoCorrea It is a 5 minute job. It requires a screwdriver to remove the overflow fitting, and a wrench to remove the drain. Any amateur can do it after watching a 5 minute video on youtube.
Ma'am you are being a Karen
@@tedtalour6414 Wrong.
@@tedtalour6414 Yes. Yes she is very much so being a Karen. 🙄🙄🙄
Yes! Do change your tub.
Throw it away! You can't fit there anyway.
Only dogs or babies. This is sucks.
Who come up with the size like that?
I know who.
The same guy who designed the seats for airplanes!
Adults shouldn’t be taking baths anyway; get a shower, and stop soaking in your own filth…if you can’t stand in a tub that size, you need to lose weight. #eradicatetubhate
NO NO NO THIS WILL PEAL WITHING COUPLE MONTHS IM A PROFESSIONAL REFINISHER FOR THE PAST 5YRS I DONT RECOMMEND THIS BS PRODUCT IF YOU WANT SOMETHING THAT WILL LAST YOU UP TO 5YRS I RECOMMEND A REFINISHING COMPANY THAT SPRAYS EPOXY THANK YOU
Very good idea, hopefully people can find a local company, thank you for the comment
Bullshit, it's not supposed to peal if it did people wouldn't it buy and they wouldn't sell in stores. If every is done right no problem . Also this is a solution for someone not trying to spend as much money
Everyone have their opinion about doing something, do what works for your pockets and follow the directions on whatever you choose to do…
Guys this is not working plz don’t buy this paint
Please tell us what type of paint you use
Yeah I got it too and I gotta say I think inrget doing this whole process
Guys I am doing this business almost 3 years I used epoxy paint it has a lot of process to do one tube and this people want make money on TH-cam that is it please find the right guy to refinish your tube
@@suhrabarve5315 Right! I'm sure going to take advice from a foreigner who can't even write properly so I can understand!
