I'll be reviewing each web browser based on the same criteria: its features, its availability, whether it's free or not, and how much the company knows about you based on your weird searches.
We have covered the following internet browsers in our video (these are in no particular order):
#1 Google Chrome
Chrome is by far the most popular web browser in the world.
The free-to-use browser's popularity is mainly due to its cross-platform compatibility, wide range of extensions, and simple functionality.
When it comes to your privacy, however, Chrome has a few shortcomings. Overall, we're putting Chrome in the Decent tier.
#2 Microsoft Edge
What we oldies call Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge has evolved into one of the best web browsers in the world.
The browser has become a titan of privacy, with tracking protection across all platforms, robust ad blocking, and allowing you to clear cookies on exit.
If you’re sick of Chrome compromising your privacy, Microsoft Edge is a fantastic alternative, and for this reason, we’re placing it in the Good tier.
#3 Opera
Opera is not a very well-known browser, despite being one of the top 5 browsers used around the world. But, if you’re a gamer, then you should definitely consider switching to Opera, thanks to its light performance impact on all devices.
Simplicity is where Opera shines, and while it doesn’t offer a lot of privacy options, it’s not going to siphon your personal data and sell it off to the highest bidder.
Overall, we’re putting Opera in the Good tier.
#4 Mozilla Firefox
The revitalized version of Firefox now has a much lighter impact on your computer, using far less RAM than before. It offers total tracking protection across all platforms, as well as the ability to clear cookies on exit and partition third-party storage.
Overall, we believe Firefox is the king of privacy, synchronization, and convenience, and for that reason, we’re placing it in the Excellent tier.
#5 Vivaldi
Vivaldi is a spin-off of Opera, taking the best of its parent browser and pushing the limits of customization.
If you’re a power user who wants a lot of customization in their browser, and doesn’t mind a little bit of ethical data collection, then Vivaldi is the browser for you. We’re placing it in the Good category for this one.
#6 Apple Safari
Safari is the native browser for all of Apple’s devices, and if you’ve got an iPhone, you’ve probably used it at least once. It’s not exactly the best browser in the world for a lot of reasons. For one, it’s literally only usable on iOS devices.
Safari isn’t all bad, though. Apple is also on top of their synchronization game, with the ability to sync bookmarks, passwords, history, and open tabs across their devices.
It’s just a little lackluster in its convenience and tab handling, which is why we’re putting it in the Not Terrible category.

I've been using Firefox since it was born. I've noticed its struggles over the years, but even with those problems, it was still the best of the browsers available. And it's still reigning champion as far as ease of use, features, compatability, and now low resourse usage. Glad to know someone else out there in cyberland agrees with me.
(But Firefox is now in its death throws; can we save it from extinction? And soon? [And as a side note, Thunderbird is also trying to survive--especially now that Mozilla no longer offers its support for the platform.])

I'm surprised that Chrome scored so low, even lower than Edge! Well, my Chrome is now giving me some headaches with updates, so it might be the right time to make a change. Amazing video, btw :)
I stopped using it because they are phasing out and blockers. Plus, you could never get extensions on the mobile version.
chrome is one of the most un-secure browsers, i highly suggest changing over to edge or another browser!
Edge is the worst web browser ever. Google chrome is far more superior than crappy edge.

One thing you missed its HDR streaming support. I have always used Firefox and it is my favorite. However, there is no HDR streaming support from TH-cam and other sites. I'm considering switching browsers now for the first time for this sole reason simply to get the maximum use out of my monitor.

I've experimented with numerous browsers over the years (Brave, Vivaldi, etc). I thought both Brave and Vivaldi were interesting, and pretty good, but I settled on only 2 browsers: Edge and Firefox. I haven't seen a need to use any other browser since these two work just fine;, so why change?

I have Edge (Microsoft Chrome) installed, only because you can't get rid of it.
I have Vivaldi (3rd party Chrome), just in case…

Firefox is pretty good on paper, I have tried to use it for about a year and I gave it up the first chance I got and back to chrome

Ok, so as a web designer, I absolutely hate Safari as it is such a paint to work with. I still mainly use chrome because it’s simply the browser I’ve always used, and I’m still a bit sketchy about edge just because internet explorer was a nightmare.

Edge having reading feature, chrome cast to tv, better security and use less ram. My main browser is vivialdi because I like to the side bookmark feature and it allows me to view more stuff, a clearer look instead of having bookmark at the top like any other browser. Bad side is they doesn’t have mobile app browser

@@mrcrhn4019 I haven't found Vivaldi to be slow. I'll tell you one thing: It is insanely good with multiple tabs. If you like having multiple tabs open and keeping them organized without your system getting bogged down, Vivaldi is a good choice.
chrome now has a feature to lower down system resource usage so no need to worry your system grinding to a hult
I'll stick to Microsoft Edge thanks...
if only it is easier to switch and manage profile in firefox like chrome does then i might consider switching

my personal top: Firefox > Vivaldi > Brave > Opera (GX) = Edge => Chrome > Safari

Opera's ad blocker is terrific. Ads don't even get a chance to start.
That is why I use it, however recently I have found I just see comments in TH-cam from the first video i watched after opening it even if I am in another video

One thing that bothers me about FF is the fact that I can't use google voice because the browser won't let me. This has been the case for a very, very long time and they won't fix it.

I've literally always used Chrome ever since I can remember. It's just always been my default. A couple days ago I've started using Safari as my browser on my iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I've been really liking that as well, although I never used it on my iPhone XS Max. Seriously thinking of just sticking with Safari now.

@@DannyBridie Safari is better optimized for iphone os. Chrome is like a normal Lamborghini while Safary is an electric family car like Tesla. If you install a Lambo engine into another car, that car will become super fast. But if you install a Tesla engine into another car, it might not be anything special. But once that tesla engine is inside an actual tesla, the tesla will destroy the Lambo in drag race because the tesla engine is highly optimized inside a tesla.
So if you are using iphone, you should really use Safari. In fact, when using iphone you should all third party apps because the original iphone apps are well designed for the iphone specifically while third party apps are usually made by people who are not appl specialists (someone who's programming knowledge is focused on apply only, not apple + android).

Funny enough, I've intalled w11 thats with edge and looking for a change. Really i dont mind the features, is the shortcuts what i found anoying. Every ctrl+ is anoying, Im used to alt+ for the short cuts.

Internet explorer
Chrome started giving me more and more issues, tried out Edge which I normally rag on..and wow. It's faster, less resources...and has the same extensions I use in Chrome (namely Speed Tab 2..)
Might just be switching.
I will try out Firefox and some of the other ones as well though next.

Opera GX for manga reading (there isn't much use on mobile)
Internet or samsung browser is pretty good and has smart anti tracking but I don't need it
Chrome is chrome kind of useless now
The normal opera browser on Android is better, the opera gx is still without all the resources it has on PC
I use firefox as my primary browser and brave as secondary.
OperGX is for gamers, not the basic Opera
when i play a 4k video in my firefox , edge and brave it starts lagging i thought it was my laptops problem then i played it in chrome and it was working fine please help me solve this i dont want to use chrome
It could be hardware acceleration that's causing it. It's a mode which allows the browser to use your graphics card (if you have one) to help it do more demanding tasks like rendering a 4K video. Chrome has this enabled by default, but with other browsers you may have to go in the settings and turn it on. Also, does the laptop you're using actually have a 4K screen? The vast majority of them do not. 4K laptops do exist but they are a pretty new thing. If your laptop isn't 4K you should always set the video to 1080p anyway, which might also fix the problem.

Opera GX more customisable than any of the above and it gets the job done. Not super fast but not super slow either.
GX spies on you, and is slow compared to literally any other browser other than firefox

I cant see why you'd pick Firefox as the best. Its slow as hell and it's privacy is comparable to Edge. For me Edge has really changed the game recently and people just need to get their head out of their azz and stop with MicRoSofT bAd which it was 5 years ago.
Firefox is a joke now. Terrible new HTML features support, much worse security than Edge (less tracking really doesn't mean more security) since it has wayyyyyy more malware breaches

Firefox is terrible. CSS3+ support makes it a same nightmare as internet explorer was for web developers and modern web tools, optimization for it is a pain now.
Moreover from extended testing Firefox has much more malware breaches than chrome... MUCH MORE
Oof, how is Firefox S Tier... Its CSS3 "support" is an equivalent of nightmare that internet explorer was ten years ago... No amount of customizations can save that:/
