I used to love Google Chrome, here's my journey on finding alternatives that do a better job at delivering what I'm looking for in a browser-particularly ones that prioritize user data and privacy. I'm going to talk about all the mobile browsers I've used on both Android and iOS and some takeaways and options for you all to try!

I would like to see a video about commonly used unsafe browser, talking about the risks and what are these browser are collecting.
4 hour of the 6 browsers in the thumbnail are chrome
@@FennecTECH And?
Edge- PDF
Firefox- Casual, For other's browse, Shopping, Downloading etc.
Brave- Personal Work
Super happy with Vivaldi. Think it's massively underrated
Yes!!! I am obsessed with it!
Thank you!
@@VivaldiBrowser Go Vivaldi ❤
I prefer Firefox because it isn't based on the Chromium engine. That means it helps prevent Google having a monopoly on the rendering engine. That's really important in case Google decides to do something shady like Manifest V3. Having competition in this space is important.
Yea, you are either not using something based on Chrome/Chromium, or you are supporting Google regardless. All Chromium based browsers allow Google to wield their influence on the web for their own benefit the same as IE once did.
BTW - using brave on android, if you enable the 'experimental' play in background option, if you open youtube in 'desktop site' mode, it will keep streaming even in the background...
Please make video on privacy focused note taking, calendar and to-do app.
Something that is all rounder
If you want an app that does it all I'm not sure. However, currently I don't use a to-do app, so I can't really help with that. But I'm using a combination of Proton Calendar, as well as Notesnook for my notes. Notesnook is fully open source and it is just great overall. I also use it for basic reminders.
Obsidian is a great note-taking app and proton is great for mail and it also has a calendar app on it that I'm using that I enjoy.

Totally agree
Chromium based browsers are fast. Currently running Chromite
Was just about to qouestion where you went. Glad to see you back🙏😁
Brave just because of the ecosystem, nice to be able to share tabs and history across devices and having multiple profiles
Firefox with add-ons and Vivaldi browser 💪😁
👀
@@VivaldiBrowser ♥️
In mobile only Firefox supports extension. I used a browser called kiwi browser based on chrominium that supports chrome extension on mobile, but somethings didn't work properly. They say chromium browsers are fast, but for my daily use I don't notice a difference, so I'm sticking to Firefox.
the only problem with vivaldi android is that it's ad block is utter grabage
@@chayan91 You don't use Vivaldi on android. Use Brave for ad-free youtube lol. I love Vivaldi on PC but on my phone, I mostly wanna do simple and basic stuff so Brave is perfect for android
I would use firefox if it were easier to manage tabs between mobile/desktop and open them easily in bulk or groups. That was a the dealbreaking issue for me. I always end up at Brave
A lot of people are mentioning Vivaldi in the comments. Are they open source? I wasn't aware they were a privacy-focused browser in the first place. It feels like I've been missing out on something.
I actually interviewed their CEO and directly asked some of these questions:

Love it @@techlore
I use Safari for the most part; Chrome occasionally when some webpage will not work in Safari.
How good is safari with privacy and security compared to Firefox
Using firefox since 2013.
. Firefox with two addons i.e. Ublock Origin and Firefox Multi-Account Containers; some normal hardening for Privacy, Security and Browser Compartmentalization.
Thanks for the suggestions, Henry! I love Brave on desktop, but settling on a good mobile browser has been a problem for me. I'll have to try Brave there too!
Vivaldi is the only browser that truly does everything including cross-platform, or Kiwi if you need custom add-ons. Firefox, Brave and Chrome... not great in comparison.
❤
Kiwi is great for extensions, however it (has to?) talk to Google servers almost constantly
edge canary on android supports extensions now
Old Bromite = Cromite this is what i use currently to my Android, Windows and Linux.
I use fennec - f-droid's fork of firefox. I think its fine, but i plan on moving to mull sometime later.
In the past couldn't get Brave to work properly with MacBook Air. Maybe it's just iOS.?
I use 2 on my PC and android, Vivaldi and Brave, Vivaldi is my main on PC and Brave my main on my phone. They both work very well on both platforms.
Brave - the answer for any OS! if you need 2nd with a different engine: Desktop: Librewolf; Android Mull; Ios: Safari
What’s your thoughts on the new Arc browser.
I use Brave and Firefox on macbook air.
I wish Brave, and I guess every other Chromium browser by extension, could allow the use of certain Google native extensions, like Keep. Tried to move the gf to it, but the lack of direct Keep integration was a deal breaker. I know it's not Brave's fault, but Google just being Google and not caring.
In the Android ecosystem, Kiwi Browser stands out as the optimal choice for users seeking native extension support. While Samsung Browser offers extension support, it lacks compatibility with the Chrome Web Store. It's worth noting that Microsoft's Edge browser is making strides in supporting extensions on Android, but its progress remains uncertain at this time.
Was Duck Duck Go compromised? I heard this recently that it's not considered safe browsing anymore. Also, I appreciate the Delete Me reference. I came here to your channel to see if you had a video on Aura, which is similar to Delete Me. I wonder what you think of Aura having that much access to our info and in the use of AI? Thank you for your videos.
Your opinion on Kiwi browser??
Ive been using opera mini as if today cause its so smioth and has the quick scrolling tab though its not perfect.
Any thoughts on Arc? 😅
I am always wary of companies like ARC, which have this flashy, colorful look to them, but they're really just a startup funded by venture capitalists with no business plan. So until they figure out a proper way to make money, I'll be wary of them.
Also, just like Orion, it is a Mac only browser.
I personally recommend Vivaldi
I use firefox and google chrome
definitively going to play with Cromite now...seems very promising!
I have been using it for like half a year now, works well and has regular updates
What is the best way to escape the Discord AdVasion?
Kiwi browser + ublock origin ftw!
Honestly because of not being tied down to like 10 extensions like some forks, Kiwi is great.
There's no place like the OG Chrome ❤ but kiwi is great too extension support is awesome 😎
Yeahh finally i found kiwi user
I used kiwi until I found out about mobile Firefox allowing extensions. Never changed back ever since.
@@lucascamelo3079 why u choos firefox over chromium??
Extensions on mobile is a game-changer for me. I would never go back to a chrome-based browser now.
Same thats why i use iceraven on android
I liked brave when it had KYC free BAT/Advertising stuff... even if it wasn't so good for UK creators -- but having a KYC'd service snooping on all my donattons etc is the least private thing that you could do with crypto!
Android : Firefox
Linux: Firefox
iOS: Safari + Privacy Relay + Adguard + Next DNS Profile
MacOS: Safari + Privacy Relay + Adguard + Next DNS Profile
I love how Vivaldi is all over the comments
Ditching Firefox and Chrome is like a dream
Brave and Kiwi with extension
uBlock origin enters the chat... and the list goes on...
I just got the worst phone in existence an iPhone.. please suggest a safe browser to block ads and popup
I use chrome, just to watch youtube. Otherwise ive always used firefox, and now some brave. But i prefer using something other chromium so that we have at least a bit of competition other than webkit.
Anyone use kiwi broswer?
Vilvaldi for cross platform means never ever ever apples n winders but can read java and foss on mobiles tablets n sbc n laptops
I don’t like to be *that guy*, but what about Arc Search
Kiwi Browser for the win
Bro didn't mention opera
I'd totally switch to Firefox from Brave but I cannot stand the way Firefox syncs tabs between devices & how the theme I use looks on it
I've been enjoying Orion on iOS lately
Cloud apps for 2024?

i am applying to MAID. hope it will be accepted…

I don’t like Google chrome since it is very insecure and lacks privacy.?
Cool brave ad
I mean i can reach my data faster on Chrome
so can google, and much more of it
@@aims__8785 not on all browsers
Bromite has been forked and is being updated in a different name, 'cromite'
Try floorp, (a firefox variant) neat
Desktop only. This video is about mobile browsers.
Also the upcoming floorp 12 is going closed source too
There's no place like chrome , my verdict after trying out all of these browsers mentioned in this video
it is beyond me that you actually say that Brave is to be trusted after the approach and stance they kept on the cases that were actually caught with their pants downs. It is one of the browsers that I cannot trust . Too many "mistakes" that had privacy implications for a private browser
Why on Earth would it matter if the browser is cross-device compatible? Literally does not matter at all. If you want to sync your bookmarks and stuff, pretty much any FireFox fork can sync with any other FireFox fork, and so on. It's just a web browser, not rocket science.
Some people prefer to use the same look and feel across desktop and mobile.
@@BillAnt Sure, but they don't need to sync in order to obtain that
@@simonmaersk - Well, syncing of bookmarks may be important for some, which should be as simple as exporting and importing it via an html file even between different brand browsers.
I rather not synchronize things across my devices for privacy reasons
It should be noted that Brave was bought by google and is very similar to chrome now - That aspect should be investigated..
What are you talking about? They were never bought by Google.
@@techlore well it sure behaves like chrome
i'd never use anything other than chrome, every other browser is chrome with a different theme over it and some privacy features that i don't care about, and firefox based browsers are just so slow and unusable, i've tried so many browsers and they're all just the same old thing, chrome but slightly different looking with almost no benefits, i hate chrome but i hate all of these more, there's just no good web browsers anymore, they're all the same, slow garbage
Supermium is very fast but has google services :(
Actually Firefox is NOT using Chromium code-base, yet it's a perfectly good alternative for Chrome. Best to try them all out and see which ones fit your needs and personal tastes.
@@Elytr1 vista user?
@@BillAnt i mentioned firefox based browsers and stated that firefox is really slow, it takes 2-4 times longer to load sites on firefox than on any other browser
@@bigupbassline58 supermium runs smooth on windows 2000+ with modern features
there is literally no better mobile browser than chrome.
What about Chrome do you enjoy? I felt none of the features justified the privacy/data implications, but still curious what you like about it
Except firefox, brave, chromium, tor, ddg browser, and probably a lot of others
