another thing i would add in the pause menu or gameplay is a sign showing how many coins you have collected in the level on your current attempt. when you collect a coin it shows briefly along the other 3 coins you can collect, kind of Rayman Legends’ teensie progress bar, and also WHICH coin you collected (whether its the first, second or third coin)

If robtop does end up adding this, it'd be neat but also kinda cheap if it showed the percentage the coin is at. Only problem is if the coin moves

1:45 To add on here, the icons you dont have will always have the classic grey shown, but the ones you own will have the colors you set, showing a preview with the colors without having to equip it.
The fact that most of these are now in 2.2

I would also like to add that you can add a function to the level search filter that, during operation, will issue levels with EXACTLY the same name that you entered. For example, if you write "blood" in the search, then you will get not bloodbath and bloodlust, but a level called "blood". Still, it would be possible to make a function to search for levels by the creator. This would be more convenient than logging into the person's account and then going to "my levels" . And one last little detail that pissed off my inner perfectionist. In achievements, the "60 demons" achievement comes after "40 demons" and before "50 demons. Aaaarrghhh
rob should just let us search with regular expressions, ^.+ circles$ to find every level that ends with 'circles'

Personally, I'd like a record trails option in editor levels in play mode that you can then find in edit mode. Sometimes you do a weird jump pattern and you fall somewhere you're not supposed to be, so a feature like this would be quite useful

1:14 That's actually a great idea,maybe what i would do is,the closer you are to unlocking a new icon the icon becomes more and more visible so for example :
Icon unlocks if you have 2500 stars
If you have 0 stars at the moment you wont see the icon at all
If you have 1000 stars you can see the icon behind the lock a bit more
And so on and so on.

I would LOVE to have custom easing options such as:
Sine in, Back out
Back in, Bounce out
Instead of in and out all being locked to one type. I think it could be neat.
Also, being able to tie specific options together with it. For example, bounce out, only on the y movement instead of both x and y.

for the title screen i think it would be cool if you could have a button at the top to remove the buttons so you can just play with the icons on screen. could be similar to the megahack thing where you can press a button to hide the level complete screen to see an endscreen of a level better.
that's kinda cool, but I think it would be better if the menu hides itself if no buttons were pressed for too long but the icons won't count, kinda like a screensaver or smth.

Great video! I genuinely don't get how you so consistently make these videos interesting, and I never disagree with anything you say because your takes are simply too based.
I always thought it was odd that the most often used button is not the big play button in the middle, but the creator button. I mean, when you think about gd, you don't think about the main levels, you think about the other tabs
well, it makes sense from a game design standpoint that the main levels would be the main focus of the menu, but yeah the fact that 99.9999998% of all levels in the game are in one tab is kinda strange
Idea: Stuff like the “tap lock for more info” and if added, an icon showing the level stats (downloads, likes, etc) should appear, then disappear after it’s tapped, showing that the player understands and shouldn’t be bothered by it anymore.
I would honestly add a select all type button that selects all of a specific item because to do this right now, you have to select the object, go into the delete tab and select only, and then pause the game and click select all. Very complicated

i think the idea of only icons you've unlocked showing up in the menu is a great suggestion! but on the other hand, i do think it is nice that newer players may discover an icon through the menu and go like "wow that looks so cool i want that!", although, your change to locked icons in the icon kit showing up partially would remedy that, but still, i think it could be a more interesting way to see new icons in the menu that way, it's nicer to see them in color and moving, as opposed to a grayscale thingy behind a lock symbol! maybe if you click on an icon you haven't unlocked in the menu it can show up in the icon kit telling you how to unlock it? e.g. i click on the "beat ToE2" icon in the menu, and then the lock that says "beat ToE2" now has that icon behind it! i think that'd be even cooler!!

a thing that i think could be useful, is if Rob adds a ‘recent’ section in editor, where u have the recent blocks, portals, triggers, etc you used in that level, instead of looking one by one in the whole objects thing

I loved the idea of hovering over a chest in the treasure room and seeing what you got from it, for some reason I would love to see that in 2.2 or maybe 2.3.

9:51 This menu is already "organized", for example, the 1.0 grid blocks and the 1.6 brick blocks are all near eachother which makes it very easy to build with them

I think something cool to add to the editor would be to allow users to favorite certain items like blocks and triggers and put it in a favorites tab so we don't have to constantly switch tabs between items we know we'll be using
3:22 I actually think this could be a good setting so you could toggle between abbreviated and normal but i would also separate the 'normal' ones with dots so you dont have to count each one of the numbers to distinguish between millions, thousands, etc.
The account registration menu is the best website design I've ever seen.
I have one more idea for trigger boxes: So you know how if you select multiple types of triggers and try to edit them, another box pops up where you can only edit touch, spawn, or multi triggered. What if, a box for “target group id” is added there, so you can change the group that the trigger targets for multiple triggers at once? I’ve run into this problem a lot, and I think it would be quite helpful!

Since creating process have been evolved and more advanced from time to time, I feel like we deserved some more Quality of Life features, as a creator like myself it would makes life much easier and saves tons of hours of creating. I'm glad that we have stuff like Autobuild, Keyframe, Random Trigger, Advanced Scaling, etc in 2.2, so I hope this is just a start and we're going to have more useful tools later on.

I haven't seen the old level editor layout in so many years. That brought back some memories.
This video gave me a good idea:
Make a difficulty selecter, so you can pick witch type of level difficulty you want to play.

version of the game when lvl was created is really good, it shows you some history and how the game and design evolved, like 1.9 and 2.0 have each distinct style of the levels

I mean yes, I love the idea because it can start with a Basic Cube and Ship and as you move on and unlock more things the stuff you unlocked can be on the start menu and eventually you can start getting Wave,UFO,Ball,Robot,And Spider if you complete the levels that have those game modes. Like For Example: if you beat cycles Ball icons that you have (It will start with basic) will start popping up.
