    The picture of Hydroman with all the iconic 90s CB covers😂

      @@rebelpunk13 Glad someone liked that gag. But like think about it, if Hydroman tricked you into drinking him and he's inside you, you're done. This is the kind of shit I think about lol. Also I chose that artwork because it was used in the Marvel/DC VS. System card game which I played back in the day.

    MVC2 was the first game in the series I played, and I kind of just assumed that there was only one game before it. Its cool to see how much history the series actually has, and I'm excited to give them all a try. Thanks for the informative video!

    This was great and I’m glad you pointed out how integral the first marvel games were for Marvel 2.
    One other thing that many people don’t know about this time period is that after Marvel’s license expired DC approached Capcom in the 2000’s & pitched them an idea for a DC fighting game, but capcom declined bc they weren’t interested in making fighting games at the time. Sad but it does make you wonder what would’ve happened if Capcom said yes.

      @@studi0651 Interesting, I've never heard of that happening. Timeline lines up though, that would have been around when Capcom Fighting Jam was released. And I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thank you.

    Cant wait to get and replay these games again. I had most of them on playstation but the games got lost over the years.

      @@seancastle3769 Unfortunately the PS1 ports of these games were pretty bad. I had X-Men vs SF and it felt unpayable due to the frame rate. If that's the only way you've played them I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you revisit them through the collection.

    Great retrospective dear Char...xmen vs. sf actually had a sliver of story/ plot....u can find it in the back section of the card blister of the xmen vs. sf toyline by toy biz...its basically Apocalypse summoning the street fighters from another dimension to do his bidding but all goes wrong for him! 😅😂

    It’s interesting how devoid of Todd McFarlane Spider-Man art these games are ( I believe all the Spider-Man art used was by…Tom Lyle and maybe one or two from Mark Bagley) Marvel must’ve hated Todd so much by this point they essentially banned all reference to him. They ended up doing the same with Jim Lee as time went on. Of All of the art Jim Lee X-men art that exists, there was no reason to use clip art from b-team artists like the Kuberts.

    To be honest the only time comic books in the 90's ever had a boom in popularity was in the early 90's. After that comic book stores weren't selling anything past the mid-90's. It's one of the many reasons why Marvel sold all their movie rights to multiple movie studios.

    • @RedCometXIII
      @RedCometXIII  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CyborgSnake2042 This is true, however what I was really getting at was that the medium of comic books was everywhere. Lemme elaborate; you had the speculator era of comics in the early 90's like you're saying along with the launch of X-Men TAS and Batman TAS which led straight into Spiderman in 94 and Superman in 96. These games of course which would end up spanning into 2000 with MvC2. Plus there was the reruns of the old Hulk show on TV at this time. Plus the Batman 89 sequels. That's what I was getting at, comic books themselves def crashed in the mid 90's but the characters and stories were still everywhere in other media.

    I'd probably end up playing the older titles. The aesthetics of MVC2 (and 3) never really appealed to me.

      Yeah that's one thing about MvC2 that has never sat right with me. I feel like the music and stages are really generic. Feels like none of it is based on either Capcom or Marvel.
