To answer your question about the sustainable shampoo/conditioner… I do 100% recommend gruum and kitsch… but I would say gruum is my first choice. Try them out for sure! They are really good quality, and feel great on your hair, they do exactly what you need them to do ♥️
Great video guys, looking forward to seeing the final result :) I agree with the green tiles around the shower, white around the window, will look great!
Smashing it as always. Its like watching my life except your wining! We got round bathroom door problem with pocket door. Watching you guys actually makes me want to crack on!
Looking great! White tiles on that far wall when you walk in. The room to appear far larger when entering. Also, our shower head (here in Norway) is exactly 2 meters from the floor.
Ooh love this, really good to consider visual space isn't it and it's a great point, might of made our mind up just in this comment! Thanks for the shower height as well, we have gone for about the same so that is nice to hear :)
You guys are doing amazing!! Don't forget that the style of shower head will determine the height too because some come from the wall and slant down while other loop back up and sit higher from where they come out of the wall. That was something that we didn't think of when doing our bathroom 😊 we did subway tiles also, I feel for you both because it took us WEEKS to tile our ensuite so I'm hoping there's a better way of doing it over there 😅 keen to see it come together!
Haha damn my ears were burning last night as well, must of been them trying to tell me to use them as pencil holders 😅😅. Thanks Moira, hope you are all settled and ready for Xmas!
I’d do the green in the shower as you mentioned and white everywhere else. You could also do the green up to 3’ or so as a wainscot and then the white. You are doing great! Looks awesome.
the tile is gorgeous! i would do all green but thats just me i love green tiles! the inserts are fantastic. because of timing i sadly dont think youll be enjoying a christmas shower becuase tiling dry times! but new years for sure!! new year new bathroom!
@ ha yea i counted out the days before i replied i just tiled my basement laundry and bathroom and because of the damp my tile mortar dry times were so long even on the schulter...
@ 100% we have a high water table and our sub pump just broke and the shulter kept everything it was suppose to dry. i also have ground water that comes up and have not had any issues with that either. the one room i didnt schulter i have to redo 😭
You guys blow me away with what you have achieved! When you have finished your place, and you have had a good rest from renovating, you could consider doing odd reno jobs for money, as I dont think there is anything you guys can't do!!! You could make a very nice living doing that (although, you may be well and truly over renovating for life... lol...). I am so excited for you being so close to finishing your bathroom. I can't wait to see it! ❤ 🛀🚽🧼🚻🪥🌟
U r moving quite fast🎉! I am excited to see the end result and I think I need to prepare to send some Swiss chocolate bc u gonna make it till Christmas 🎉!!!❤ P.S. I would like to see some green tiles on a window wall. But it’s up to ur taste guys.
It's the swiss chocs that are keeping us going right now Victoria haha!! 😅 Could be lovely to see the green in the window, like walking into the emarlad castle on Wizrd of Oz!
Congrats on getting the video out on Friday! Love the high production value of your videos, keep up the great work :) Out of interest how much research did you guys do before attempting all of this? Also, romantic present there Chris 😂
Haha Wednesday is the mew Friday right? And appreciate the comment on production, we are quite precious about it all even if we never have enough time to do the vids justice 😅😅😅. We basically had no hous renovation experience before this, Paloma had renovated a van before though, although I didn't trust her gas pipe work at all 😅🪇
@@RestoringNumberFour Hahaha for some reason I thought it was Friday 😂 Christmas timings messing with my internal clock! Gas is one of those things I'm very reluctant to touch too! 😬 I've found there's quite a lot of extra bits when it comes to construction that I didn't know about like breathable membranes, cold bridges etc.
Haha it all merges into one at the moment doesn't it, we feel you. We are learning a new area of expertise every day, it's a lot but all great knowledge to learn for future projects (if we can ever muster the courage to think about doing this again in the future...)
White tiling around the port window and on the entry wall sounds great. If you really want a contrast: put white tiling in all the niches to contrast against the green tiled walls :D
I'm starting to slowly predict that by Christmas Day the sink, toilet and shower will be running...just not completely finished (paint and mirrors missing)
thats a good thought about the niches, could add a nice bit of contrast! If we have enough left over we could also do a backsplash above the vanity in one of them!
haha you it's like you have a looking glass into the future as the way it's heading you are probably right, maybe a bucket shower in the garden though ha?
@@RestoringNumberFour More like a pro at witnessing history repeat. On the more extreme end, I saw DIYGuy challenge himself to a full bathroom reno in 3 days - he barely missed his own target due to the final finishes, edges, and 2nd coat of paint.
Is underfloor heating big in the UK, or is it just a trendy quality of life improvement that people have been gravitating towards lately? It isn’t super common in the US, but seems like a really nice feature. Really looking forward to seeing the finished room, but I love your progress videos. Good luck in the final stretch!!!
Hey! It's not as common as radiators for heating but it's growing in popularity. Electric is easiest bit more expensive to run, but it's a great moment for us to install water based while the house is in this state, you are meant to be able to more evenly heat the rooms and at a lower heat, so let's see will keep you posted! What form of heat do you have? Don't worry we have soooo much more progress to do in the rest of the house after this room haha x
@@RestoringNumberFour Thanks for humoring my curiosity! I'm from the Midwest (Chicago), so forced air is the standard here, but I know that some newer constructions around the Midwest have started to rely on geothermal heat. Radiators are uncommon/being phased out unless it's an older building or apartment complex.
Oooh ok half and half could be a good option actually! Damn wish you hadnt said this got more decision fatigue to deal with now haha (only joking love the ideas) x
I just want you to know that you requesting Christmas music on your Google Home triggered ours to play Wham and it took me a good 20s to realise it wasn’t on your video
My house has hard water, I would put the green on the window wall. 1. For the impact of the green when you walk by. 2. Any hard water spots won’t be as visible on the white stone.
didn't even consider the water hardness! Ours is very soft apparently but its always good to think about these things. Would be cool to make it look like you are walking straight into the Emerald City of Oz when entering the bathroom right wouldn't it Jewels!

Hey Lee, this is a Fakro skylight, this one is electric but you can get non-electric ones as well. I think they start from as low as £150 but can go up to £600 or so depending on the spec, got any more details on what you want?
@@RestoringNumberFourhello, i ment the big window at the end that you built to have an angle that matches the roof, ,the one that will cost thousands, the one if you stood in the garden and looked back at your house the big one on the right with the angle that matches your extension roof, or if in your house ,the one straight ahead as you walk into your kicthen and look straight down out onto the garden, at the end
@@RestoringNumberFourin my opinion shiplap might be too much texture with all the tile. Let the gorgeous window shine with a white tile background and those stunning green tiles in the shower.
