I was born into a big Irish family in Liverpool in 1956. Several of us feral kids [and cats] used to sleep in an stone barn with a loft full of hay and horses in stalls below near our home [long gone now]. As a child I asked an old carter if the stories about the barn being haunted were true, he told me that it couldn't be because only animals had ever lived there and when animals died they all went straight to live in peace in heaven, no questions asked. I've been partial to barn conversions ever since.
I hope you know how massively impressive this is! You did the jobs of probably a dozen people primarily on your own. And you filmed and edited it! Insane!
Nice work! Two structural things that caught my attention: 1 holes in the roof: hope you also fix the roof so it doesn’t leak into the structure, the foam you used is not enough. And 2, you mentioned that floor bricks bring in lots of moisture and I didn’t notice what you put between mineral wool and the bricks. Mineral wool absorbs moisture and does not really dry out, so there’s a risk your floor structure stays damp and starts growing mold. Hope you have these things under control and enjoy your lovely space ✨
I love your space and really respect the effort and resourcefulness it takes to do that sort of thing. I have a small woodstove in the 275 square foot cabin/studio I built 4 years ago. I surrounded it and 3 feet of the flue with 500 pounds of stacked bricks, the stove that used to overheat the space, then cool off quickly, now heats the bricks while just warming the space. Then, the bricks slowly give off their heat over 8 or 10 hours. It's not as good as a traditional masonry heater, but it provides most of the benefits quickly and inexpensively
Absolutely amazing, I’m in total awe of your hard work and skill. It would be lovely to hang up a picture of what the barn looked like before, on the wall so that family friends and yourself can remember what it looked like before. An ode to the history. Amazing absolutely amazing job ❤️ 👏🏼
Fabulous job. You should be very proud of your efforts. I am sure your forefathers would be thrilled to know you have created something very special from the family barn.
Goodness me I’m 69 years old and although I could have done what you have achieved I really do admire what you have done. Your parents and family must be so very proud of you. Your next job will be building a house or a cabin. Go girl !!!
Wow, this was amazing! I love how you took on the challenge and did about 90% on your own. Your carpentry skills are brilliant! as a Graphic Artist myself its nice to have a amazing work space.
what a fabulous job you made of your studio. the great thing about reusing old materials in renovating is the memories they hold, no-one remembers going to wickes to buy materials :)
Four minutes in and I LUV it!!! As an artist and designer, I luv old barn conversions! My daughters and I once lived on some land outside the city that had a barn that we were going to convert to our art studios. We weren't there long enough to get to that... Can't wait to see the end results!
Twenty-five minutes in, I have to add that you should have put down another layer of sub-flooring (ie BDF or wafer board) between the insulation and the wood planks. The wood planks (or flooring you walk on) has to have a rigid (and hopefully waterproof) surface between the insulation and actual floor to help with heat loss, cold infiltration, moisture barrier, soundproofing, and bouyancy... Also when you clean the floors dust/dirt and water will fall between the seams/cracks... Still a great studio. Sooo glad to see that you put brick down under/around your wood burning stove!
You have given this building a new life! You are such a resourceful and talented young woman. Please share your artwork. I believe that many people roils enjoy following your journey. Thank you for sharing.😊
Such an incredible amount of work! Thank you for going over each phase and explaining what you are doing. I am so impressed by your tenacity throughout... it looks amazing!
Did you check where the holes were on the roof and what was missing? Expending foam will not fix everything, if holes still exist water will run along the insulation boards or drip. It’s worth a look if you didn’t already.
I rarely add comments to videos that I watch but having enjoyed your latest so much I felt compelled to do so. I was really impressed by what you have done as well as your attitude to tackling jobs that you had no experience of. The look of concentration on your face as well as your determination to overcome multiple problems were a joy to behold. Well done you. Enjoy the years ahead creating your work.
Okay - subscribed as soon as I saw Katherine wearing appropriate PPE gear when she started clear out the barn ! So smart - an ounce of prevention Amazed at how much she tackled to make this barn into her studio - fantastic
I can see a couple of things that might be a problem in the future but overall great work! Good to see a woman tackling this kind of renovation and doing so well. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.
Just finished watching your adventure, what a successful achievement, I'm so happy for your success and would like to thank you for sharing your journey! Can't wait to see what you come up with next!
This was quite the most transformational and beautiful project! Thank you for sharing and being an inspiration! I love it and have gotten ideas from it! Your ability to make windows, doors, and floors and the sink! Was very inspiring! thank you. I’m following your page now!
I have never commented on a video before, but watching your process has blown me away. The way you have respected the space and transformed it into something new and full of life is amazing while not forgetting where it came from. I love how you jumped into learning so many things and did not get hung up on being an expert but rather used it as a place to discover something new. I am here for all your future projects!
Wow! Good for you, girlfriend! You had a vision and did it! Mostly by yourself! What an amazing transformation! You have so many skills now! One learns by doing. Next time you’ll know how!
That’s one of the most interesting and impressive videos I’ve seen. It’s so interesting how you tackled loads of jobs you’ve never done before, and done them so precisely. I’m in awe of you.
That’s a really great transformation. It just goes to show what you can do when you set your mind to it! I was so impressed that you started out using hand tools but then succumbed to power tools, I suppose it made the job easier. Your grandmother would be proud.
Great work! Lots of great craftsmanship. One concern is that the flooring is not supporting by a subfloor. I can see the floor shifting and flexing as you walk over it. As it absorbs moisture and swells, it could loose its rigidity and potentially fail in areas.
An art barn has been my dream! You are so lucky to inherit one. I don't think I will ever have one. Great job you did on the renovation! You learned a lot of new building techniques and you were not afraid to take on a huge job!
Nice work! What an amazing transformation! I am super proud of all your efforts at making that space fit for human comfort. You are a great example to all prospective restorers.
Best restauration film ever, clear voice. Visionary by doing what have to be done. Gifted in crafts. What is it about the art, that is going on there?😮
Greetings from NC, USA, I enjoy your adventures in renovating your farm house. As proud steward of seven rescued cats/kittens, I burst out laughing to see the kitty watching Martijn Doolaard. Italy is a beautiful country, thanks for sharing your experience.
What an incredible transformation, congratulations! My favourite parts were almost everything, especially the parts where you said "I have never done X before" and then proceeded to do it. My least favourite part was using a chisel as a screwdriver :D
You're a pro! 😊 awesomely job you did, I'm jealous because you girl do they your pwn👏👏👏🤝👍 turn into a wonderfully place ❤❤😘🙋Jaime 🇲🇽📸... greetings from Houston Texas.

You are rocking that! 🤗
What a lovely story! ❤❤❤❤❤
I love how you kept the old-fashion charm of the space
I hope you know how massively impressive this is! You did the jobs of probably a dozen people primarily on your own. And you filmed and edited it! Insane!

I came to the comments to check for this! The transformation is great but mold under the floors was my first thought.
she needs film, vapor barrier on top and a foil on the bottom, that should do the job
Look closely, she has a membrane between the brick floor and the underside of the mineral wool.
nice work with the windows. that was well done!
Wow that is a major achievement and I’m completely blown away by the transformation. Hopefully you will have many years to enjoy it
Thank you!

That's so interesting! I might try some modifications to make mine work better
It works really well for me. Good luck!
Absolutely amazing, I’m in total awe of your hard work and skill.

For me as an artist and woodworker the old wood would have been a gold mine. A very valuable resource.
I just found your channel and I love what you’ve done ❤

What a treasure! You’ve added to your family history plus learned so many new skills.
What a beautiful space! Such an inspiration!
You are very capable and crafty !!!!
beautiful structure even before renovated, simple yet elegant
26:40 Mad, Mad Skills. Beautiful space and you did it!! Amazing!!!!❤❤❤❤

The space came together so homely wow
I admire you for doing this
Know that you are inspiring!
Did you check where the holes were on the roof and what was missing? Expending foam will not fix everything, if holes still exist water will run along the insulation boards or drip. It’s worth a look if you didn’t already.
I am so impressed by what you accomplished and what crafts you taught yourself. You really are a role model.
You are an inspiration. To do all this without proper training. I love your courage to do all this.
I am literally in awe of you you tackled everything! Nothing was too intimidating. Very inspiring!
I rarely add comments to videos that I watch but having enjoyed your latest so much I felt compelled to do so.

Enjoy the years ahead creating your work.
Thank you so much! I really enjoy solving practical problems 😆
Excellent work and build.👍🏼🙂
You need a stight gap from the wall for the floorboards to allow for expansion, or they could bow and become warped.
It is so amazing how you transformed this stable into a cosy place. I am speechless
I would want to live there. The land is beautiful and you did a beautiful job. Enjoy your time there.
You basically did what I dream of for a long time now..Amazing work girl...
I am in awe of you and what you have achieved, absolutely gorgeous.
This was so enjoyable. I wish it was longer.
Okay - subscribed as soon as I saw Katherine wearing appropriate PPE gear when she started clear out the barn ! So smart - an ounce of prevention

The vibes, oh how wonderful the vibes are. 9/10
Bravo. A for having a go and B for the great feel of the space.
you are incredible! did everything yourself, even if you had never done things before. and it looks beautiful!
I can see a couple of things that might be a problem in the future but overall great work! Good to see a woman tackling this kind of renovation and doing so well.

Wow a really clever young lady who has drive and determination 👏
We're all over the world we always have been hello👋

I know it must of been exhausting at times with the entire renovation BUT it's BRILLIANT. Well done!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
You’re such a beautiful, strong woman. Much love and respect ❤
這是我看過最喜歡的翻新案件❤️
大部分的物件是用修復,包含了鐵件木框架等,雖然都已經有變形,但是這樣才更有歷史感
是翻新不是重建,這樣很棒👍👍👍
Amazing!! and so cool you did it all by yourself. ❤
That’s a really great transformation. It just goes to show what you can do when you set your mind to it! I was so impressed that you started out using hand tools but then succumbed to power tools, I suppose it made the job easier. Your grandmother would be proud.
WoW ❤❤❤🎉🎉bravo so amazing project love it ❤❤❤😊😊😊
absolutely incredible
Nice! To inherit something like that is a blessing. To have the vision or the drive to revitalize the spirit of the building is commendable.
Your grandparents would be so proud of you! Bravo 🕊️
Girl you are incredible. What a fantastic job!!!!
It is a lovely space. But perhaps only during the warmer months. The thin doors and single-glassed windows will not keep the heat in very well.
So impressive!
Really inspiring to see a young person so driven.
Think I have studio envy.. well done and thanks for sharing.
Such beautiful hair.
And what a nice project you got yourself there.
it turned out fantastic, my utmost respect. I have never seen anyone make their own doors and windows 👍
You should be very proud of your persistence and hard work in this project.
Great work! Lots of great craftsmanship.
One concern is that the flooring is not supporting by a subfloor. I can see the floor shifting and flexing as you walk over it. As it absorbs moisture and swells, it could loose its rigidity and potentially fail in areas.
You have done a great job ❤
This is seriously fantastic. So glad it was recommended to me!
Algorithm did good, this was interesting! Such a beautiful outcome
Amazing!it's also my dream to have a studio like this!
You are amazing!!
Congratulations great job
God bless you
An art barn has been my dream! You are so lucky to inherit one. I don't think I will ever have one. Great job you did on the renovation! You learned a lot of new building techniques and you were not afraid to take on a huge job!
It obvious that you're on a tight budget and do most of the work all by yourself, just bravo.
Nice work! What an amazing transformation! I am super proud of all your efforts at making that space fit for human comfort. You are a great example to all prospective restorers.
A really impressive achievement. Your 'can do' attitude is an inspiration, and the video is a great record of a challenging project.
You should be proud of yourself. You did an amazing job !
This was great to watch. Thanks.
Great Work!! Looks Great!!
Would love to see your Art work 👍
Cool to see you working on this space ❤️I would love to see the finish a bit more 🥰
Great studio! If you put 4 to 5 coats of OSMO oil on the wood around the sink it will water proof it and you won’t get mould or slimy wood
For someone that's never done a lot of these things you did an amazing job
You have to be the most patient person I have ever seen!
Incredible job! I’m so impressed with all of the new things you learned how to do! It looks fantastic, you should be VERY proud (as you are 😊).
Thank you, I really enjoyed the project!

What a great job, amazing, my big respect 👏❤
Thank you, watching this was just the inspiration I need to finish my own art studio! And it only needs a tenth of the amount of work to be complete.
So inspiring… you did an amazing job ❤ Thanks for sharing
