Does anyone else feel like the artistry and beauty of figure skating is now overshadowed by the emphasis being placed on these difficult jumps. It's become all about the "quad" this or that and less about just skating a beautiful program. That's why I, personally, prefer the ice dancing where those jumps are not required and choreography tells the story.
Would you say the same about Hanyu Fernandez Patrick Chan... I doubt it. You can still have excellent memorable artistic performances combined with technical elements.
@@amexred Yes I would still feel the same way that there is too much emphasis on jumping and less on the artistry. The more we push for more difficult jumps, the more strain we put on young bodies. I'm not saying that the jumps aren't incredible, I just feel that all they judged by nowadays and I, for one, miss the skaters of old when quad jumps didn't exist.
If their trainer was Cruella they could, even if they don’t have quads, look at the actual World Champion, with her awful technique, zero quads and some smelling salts achieved “the impossible”
You can easily skip the intro as I have time chapters in the video! Some people do not read the description (from what I understand) and it’s short & I’m a growing channel with new people viewing, so I feel like it’s helpful for now.

@@amexred Yes you can combine technical elements with artistry and skating skills, but that’s not what is given by the Tutberitze skaters.
Sad but true
I was excited to see spirals again lol

Doesn’t help the other Team are cheating !!
Japanise and Korean are way better than Us girls so even if no russians in Beijing have zero chance of gold
Gracie deserved the bronze over sotnikova
Anyone deserved bronze over Sotnikova that day. Cheaters should be disqualified.
Maybe one of the boy skaters should have said he identifies as a woman and he could skate for the US in women's singles. 😂

Please stop with the verbal bio. Just put it in the notes.
