For racing purposes, 2 chambers are usually measured. Some people argue that you need to measure all 3 even. For this reason, the displacement of a 2-rotor RX-7 with a single swept volume of 654cc can be measured as 1.308, 2.616 or 3.924 liters. For taxation or marketing reasons, Mazda decided to go with 1.3, even though the performance matches a 2+ liter four stroke and it drinks fuel like a 3 liter. The reason it packs so much power in such little space is also inherent in its design. It has more power pulses per revolution than a four-stroke engine. Oh wait, what's the other kind of piston engine that packs more power per liter than a four-stroke cycle? That's right, a two-stroke cycle, which has the same number of power pulses per revolution as wankels. Go get a degree in engineering and then we'll talk about misleading.

No, it was a 255hp TT 13b with nos and exhaust. All fast and furious cars were actually built out for the movies so you can look up their specs and part lists. I imagine a lot of the exhaust notes were edited to make them more audible which could alter their sound a bit.

had an Elford Turbo RX-7, it went like the absolute clappers, I used to eat Porsche 911's and spit them out, but it drank petrol at a disturbing rate and about once a year I would hear the rotor tips rattling around in the exhaust, had the engine rebuilt 5 times in 8 years. best fun car I ever owned.

@@jorge8596 rotary's are ideal as hybrids due to the rotational force. Plus rotarys can also run on hydrogen. :) innovation is great.

No, it was a 255hp TT 13b with nos and exhaust. All fast and furious cars were actually built out for the movies so you can look up their specs and part lists. I imagine a lot of the exhaust notes were edited to make them more audible which could alter their sound a bit.

I had a 71 RX2 Coupe Manuel transmission.. I love it!! red with white top black seats had Glass pack and Grant (GT) steering wheel, Alpine Sound System on White Epsilons Wheels and low profile tires. This was back in 1982 Hanging out on Crenshaw Bl. (Los Angeles) AKA Street Racers Damn what I wouldn't do to get that car back. We called them the V8 Eaters. Killed anything with a V8!!! now that I'm in my 50's bring back lots of memories Hard to find in the States now. What we took for granted back then now we wish we had.
The mid-70s rx4 is an extremely cool car.
That last motor, not the bonus motor, was super balanced.. You won't see any piston engine run that smooth.. I'd like to wankel that.. XD

Judging by the heat from the headers it seems that so much heat from the headers would cause issues if it was installed in an engine bay.

had an Elford Turbo RX-7, it went like the absolute clappers, I used to eat Porsche 911's and spit them out, but it drank petrol at a disturbing rate and about once a year I would hear the rotor tips rattling around in the exhaust, had the engine rebuilt 5 times in 8 years. best fun car I ever owned.

+David Beecroft You see the 2 exhaust chamber on the left and the right, they each have 4 going into them from the 2 outer banks of rotors. So if the outer banks have four exhaust pipes into the chambers, we know that it has 8 rotors. The remaining 4 are in the middle bank.
