    I was a young kid at the motorcycle shop my uncle worked at when I was a kid putting these bikes together out of the crate. My first job. Love to see you showing these cool old bikes

    That was my high school ride in 76 and 77. I had a beast of a desert tank on it. Another bike I should have never sold.

    Every guy I knew back in the early seventies wanted one of those Honda xl250s Ken. Smooth good-looking and plenty of power. And brings back a lot of good memories. Thank you Ken.

    Thanks for posting. My dad just pulled his 72 xl250 out of storage where it’s been since 1980. We’re hoping to get it sorted out and rideable again. This gives us some motivation!

    Recently found a 75 XL250K2A with only 699 miles on the clock. It was part of a personal collection of 20 old bikes gathering dust in a warehouse. Snagged it at auction. Super lucky to have it!

    Thanks for sharing brought back lotta memories. The Honda XL250 Motosport was my first ride in Aruba 1976 during the holidays back then. Never rode a motorcycle before I was in my teens, no license lol. I had lotta fun sight seeing the island. To bad they don’t make them ole bikes no more. Still have a Yamaha XT500 1978 and a Honda XL600R 1988. Gotta love them ole off road bikes. 😎🇺🇸✌🏽

    Well I have over 64 bikes now.. and my 2 favorite of the 1970s hondas is the sl350 and the xl250.. if you look at the first year xl250 the engine is actually marked sl250.. both the sl350 and xl250 are both very off road capable and are great on road. I have ridden and raced them all over the USA.. great bikes !! Hondas golden age

    I just bought my first bike back from the guy I sold it to 22 years ago. It is the same bike in the video or at least that is what it looked like when my dad bought it for me and my brothers when I was about 7-8 back in 1992. It now needs a complete resto, all the seat cushion and cover are completely gone, brake handle was broke off before I sold it etc. Most people would look at it now and say I have nothing but junk for as bad as it looks, but I have a lot of memories and am in the process of talking to someone who can hopefully get it back in to shape. Where can I find parts. It is a 1972 motosport 250 identical to the one in this video.

    My 14 year old son bought a bike identical to this. It's all original, needs some TLC but runs great.

    Looks very similar to the 1 my Dad had.
    He bought it from this guy that worked for him.
    Paid $800 for it and a couple Remington shotguns.
    Guy moved to Denver so he didn't need it anymore.
    This one looks much nicer condition.

    Do you have any idea where I can get a replacement carburetor for this bike? I found a cheap car for 1978 Honda, but even though the carb looked almost the same everything was backwards on it.

    My Dad rode one of these off road with us for years. Powroll 318cc bore and stroke kit, Supertrapp exhaust. It ran great. I ended up with it and foolishly sold it. :(

    Would you say this could be a potentially good bike for a beginner nowadays? I keep finding them in decent condition for good deals but have seen mixed reviews for normal commuter/learning use. Thanks!

    • @innoreimal
      @innoreimal 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's perfect for beginner bike! It sits quite low and the massive low end torque doesen't need much throttle use to get it moving. The handling is responsive, maybe even too much if using in the city but on gravel roads and trails it transformes to a totally different bike! Just make sure the suspension is in good condition! :)

    How hard is it to convert these to 12 volt with electronic ignition? I have one with about 6k miles and the headlight has a warm rosy glow but very little light!

    • @charlesatwell6658
      @charlesatwell6658 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never got a response, surely someone else would like to know as well. What is the top speed anyone? Mine is saying 80 mph at 8000 rpm, is this correct? Engine does'nt really sound like it is straining, even at redline! They should bring this bike back like they have with the new CT125!

      Kaplan Cycles New England Motorcycle Museum- there is also a 1963 nova ss in there. It’s more set up for drag racing but in between. I went 11.60@115mph. But the car hasn’t been cut up. By in between that is it needs a cage, mustang II front end and stuff to make it safe. It’s stock with a 327 and 150 shot of nitrous. Good top end on the 327 gm performance parts heads un named intake. But if you want to de tune it, good to go. Just to clarify if you go through my vids there is a couple with my 125 in it, that was my pro number before Niko Izzi. I had it from 1998 till he did. Jeremiah Slayton is my name. From Michigan.
