But as car technology grows, autonomous driving, safety features, and more will advance do much. That seeing a car as an autonomous vehicle to b vehicle that you don’t replace for years will no longer be viable.
Toyota drive so boring I will never buy them. But that’s my need and my criteria, to each their own.
Yes reliability should be standard across all brands. But tech advancements won’t make a 5 to 10 yr old car will just be too behind

I just got my first brand new car, a 2024 Toyota Corolla base model (LE). Ice cap white. I’ve never had anything this nice in my life, and I’m proud of it. It had 4 miles on the odometer when I left the lot. I came from a 2003 car to this, and I’m blown away so far. This car just sips on gas, and the amount of features on the base model was a welcome surprise.
I’ve watched Scotty for years now, and I pretty much owe it to him for picking a Toyota… and of course, 5K mile oil changes will be at the top of my priority list. I want this car to last 10+ years.

Some senior woman decided to cross right-of-way traffic (me) in a blind intersection and make sure my beautiful car nose got crumpled backward. That and 9 months of constant chiropractor visits. Had the air conditioner fixed and they didn’t reconnect my gas line and I got stuck on the way home, then the top side pieces of the body flew off and were lost because they didn’t clip them on. Had the transmission fluid changed and they shorted it by 2 quarts. Awful service! They couldn’t even put my wipers back on right. Never again.

Change the oil at 1,000 miles, if the car is new; then every 5,000 miles or six-months, whichever occurs first. Why? Well, oil & filters are cheap, engines are expensive. (like Scotty always says) And use the recommended viscosity "Full" synthetic oil like Liqui Moly, Motul, or Amsoil along with a Toyota OEM oil filter and you will not regret it.

Toyota/Lexus builds direct injection engines that use both Direct-injection as well as Port-injection to avoid carbon buildup on the intake valves. The one exception to this is the Lexus IS-250 (and GS-300) that have only Direct-injection in their engines and owners of those vehicles are totally happy with their cars for the first few years, until they turn to nightmares when the carbon builds up on the engines and they need an engine overhaul costing $6,000. Since then Toyota only builds engines that have both the direct-injection combined with the port-injection to avoid this costy carbon buildup problem in their engines.

I had a 1999 Corolla straight out of high school at the age of 18 in 2010. Probably put 50,000+ miles on it before I was told, and understood how often you should change your oil.
Drove it more than 100,000+ miles in 5 years till I rear ended a person who randomly stopped in the middle of a street trying to turn over a median.
Used to clean it and maintain it every Sunday like a Religion after abusing; it made me truly appreciate vehicles, none the less Toyota.

That's funny, I used to work with a Mark Miller who had a late nineties corolla with over 300,000 miles on it. It was black and the paint was faded really bad as it had never been garaged since he bought it new. It burned a quart of oil between oil changes and he changed it every 3,000 miles (not synthetic). I know that's not a HUGE amount of miles compared to the cars in this video, but if you could hear that corolla run, it was amazing. So smooth. He said he easily got 34 mpg on the highway. When he retired I made him promise to give me first dibs when he wanted to get rid of it. I saw the car about a year later at a gas station and a young high school kid got in it. I asked him where the owner was and he said that my friend gave him the car for helping roof his house and garage. The kid said he loved the car even though it was an old beater.

Scotty, I worked at Toyota. When lube techs did “Toyota care” services, they weren’t checking anything. They don’t check fluids or filters or belts or anything at all. Because the pay for Toyota care is extremely low. It’s basically the warranty pay version of an oil change/tire rotation. They just got it in there and got it out as fast as they could, and no one wanted to do them.

I have a 2013 Toyota Highlander and I’ve been very happy with the car but I’ve reached a point where the spark plugs should be changed. Because of the way Toyota has situated the engine side to side instead of front to back for a V6 the estimates that I have gotten for spark plug replacement aren’t $150-$400 but more like 650+ dollars now I am still a Toyota fan but I have to wonder why that is so outrageous and why the designers decided that they couldn’t put it front to back so the plugs could be changed a little easier. That’s my main complaint at this point.
All the pluses have been way up there in terms of the way it rides, and I do the schedule oil maintenance on a regular basis as I do food delivery and had the transmission changed at its last interval, and trying to keep up on all the little things that should be taken care of.

Ive had Subaru and Volkswagon fans tell me "they're good cars if you take care of them". And what they mean is spending thousands of dollars in repairs every single year.
Toyotas are the best because they DONT require that type of maintenance. They can go 300k with minimal maintenance. Which is quite rare among vehicle brands, even if you got lucky with your Blazer.

Yeah it's rusting in a few spots, but I have barely done anything to it for the past 3 years other than brakes, oil and replaced the old worn out coolant line or hose here or there. Toyota Camry: Oil Consumption: Some Toyota Camry models, particularly those from the early 2010s, have been associated with higher-than-average oil consumption. Owners reported the need for frequent top-ups between scheduled oil changes. This issue raised concerns among drivers about potential engine damage and the associated costs. Toyota acknowledged the problem and, in some cases, extended warranties or offered repairs to affected vehicles.
Transmission Concerns: Certain model years of the Toyota Camry faced occasional complaints regarding transmission issues. Drivers reported problems such as rough shifting, hesitation, or, in some cases, complete transmission failure. While not universally experienced across all Camrys, these issues prompted some owners to seek repairs or replacements, adding to concerns about long-term reliability.
Dashboard Rattles: Owners of specific Camry models reported rattling noises emanating from the dashboard. These noises could be persistent and were a source of annoyance for some drivers. The cause of the rattling varied, ranging from loose components to issues with the mounting or assembly of the dashboard. This problem, while not affecting the vehicle's performance, highlighted concerns about build quality and interior durability.
Brake Problems: In certain instances, Camry owners raised concerns about premature brake wear. Some reported that the brakes wore out more quickly than expected, leading to the need for more frequent replacements. This issue not only incurred additional maintenance costs for owners but also raised safety considerations, as brake performance is critical for a vehicle's overall safety.
    Toyota Sienna:
Transmission Issues: Some Toyota Sienna models have experienced complaints about transmission problems, including rough shifting or premature failure.
Sliding Door Malfunctions: Owners have reported issues with the power sliding doors, such as failure to open or close properly, which can be inconvenient and affect the minivan's usability.
Electrical Problems: Certain Sienna models have faced complaints related to electrical issues, ranging from malfunctioning dashboard displays to problems with various sensors.
Excessive Oil Consumption: Like other Toyota models, some Siennas have been reported to consume oil at a higher rate than expected, leading to concerns about engine health and maintenance costs.
Brake System Concerns: Some owners have reported premature wear of brake components, leading to more frequent replacements and potential safety concerns.
Entertainment System Glitches: Issues with the infotainment and entertainment systems have been reported, including glitches, freezing screens, or malfunctions in the Sienna's technology features.
HVAC Problems: Complaints about the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system have been raised, with some owners experiencing issues like inconsistent temperature control or system failures.
Rust Concerns: In certain regions, owners have reported premature rusting on the Sienna, particularly on components like the undercarriage or door frames.
Uncomfortable Seating: Some drivers and passengers have found the Sienna's seats less comfortable on longer journeys, with complaints about lack of support and ergonomics.
Fuel Efficiency: While the Sienna is a minivan, some owners have expressed disappointment with its fuel efficiency compared to other vehicles in the same category.
    Now for the Chrysler 300:
Distinctive Design: The Chrysler 300 boasts a distinctive and elegant design that sets it apart from other full-size sedans.
