Here's a tip if your mouse suppression is 0 and still doesn't work.
First do the steps to get in mouse suppression then set it back to 1 then restart. Go back to suppression and then set it back to 0 and it should fix after a restart

@@nella8491 i found a fix :) so basically u have to let the laptop die and leave it dead for like a few days maybe up to a week then charge it and leave it for an hour after its full then turn it on it might be fixed it worked for me :)
The second part worked !
My son messed up my laptop touch pad months ago and I just bought a separate mouse and that got messed up recently.
I held the FN key and pressed F1 and my computer reset and then I pressed F2,F3,F4 in that sequence while holding FN and Vioila !
My touch pad is back in service !!

I tried typing the regedit that you instructed and finally my touchpad is finally working!
Have you ever heard of “gateway fast lane?”.
When I’m in Start Menu windows 8.1 I clicked on Desktop and the bottom taskbar shows a blue box with lines running through like a scribble pad with a round icon inside. It’s called ‘Gateway Fast-Lane’. It lets me know if my Wi-Fi, Airplane Mode, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock and best of all Touchpad Lock is on or off. Mine was on. I unlocked it and my touch pad works now.
It also shows Touchpad Lock (F6/Fn + F6) if that means anything to you. I just reset my gateway laptop.
Worked on my windows 7 and with 8.1 I had to click on desktop. On both 7 and 8.1 it was in my bottom taskbar.
Registry change worked for me, nothing else would. Also very well made tutorial 👍

if any of this dosent work for u just go to settings search touch pad and there will be an option that says turn touchpad on or off press on that after doing so on the right side there will be an option that says touchpad it will be off u will have have to press on it to turn on thats all i hoped it helped
