One thing to note is how much of a red ocean the mirrorless camera market has become. With the R5 II coming soon plus all the new cameras coming from Sony and Nikon, I think Lumix has been smart to hold off on releasing new "professional" level mirrorless while greatly improving the S5 II/IIX at a lower price point. Not to mention the economy has not exactly been in the greatest shape internationally- they may just be holding off announcing anything given that consumers may not bite at cameras that are over $3000.
I do wonder if Panasonic will so something like Nintendo has in video games. By saying that I don't mean offer less. I mean innovate and go in a slightly different direction than their competition. I'd like to see them focus on even better color and dynamic range rather than 8K. While at the same time working on ergonomics that are better for video/cinema. I know some people will argue that the S1H was still a hybrid camera, but I think most people who bought that camera were using it for for video first. It would be cool to see something that isn't quite the BS1H, but a little boxier with internal ND.
Great video...I would love to see prores 4444 xq or veripure raw with full Vericam color science since the vericam probably won't get a refresh. V Log 2, Better dynamic range, better rolling shutter, 4k 120fps 6k 60fps, Electronic ND filters, and a FX3 type body. 4,000 usd.
A RAW Video Codec would be nice!
Lumix is probably going to make you grow in to blackmagic cameras, I will probably buy an s5iix planning to step onto blackmagic down tge road. I think they should make a new eva1 after the hybrid-style cameras, however if blackmagic makes a pyxis pro with a flip out screen, built-in nd, and 60fps open gate+no crop in 4k there might no be tge need for the eva1 mk2 or ava2.
If Lumix gets closer to blackmagic it would be a smart move and they already are with the L mount
Sounds like we're talking about multiple cameras: at least the FF EVAii and a micro core modular box cam
What happend to the "organic sensor"?
I'm sure lumix will try to close the gap to their broadcast pro line.
If they would/could make that all compatible with the blackmagic atem stuff this would be a dream come true for multi-cam production sets. Fir me ar least :) srt-streaming or ip2110 anyone?

Box cameras are not what h line buyers want. There are other companies for this. We are hybrid shooters. Its like with the gh5s, everyone said make the gh5 more video, dump the photo thing and when they made the gh5s no one wanted it.
I think what put most people off with the GH5s was the increased price, especially with them taking away the ibis. If they’d have made it the same price as the GH5 then I believe most GH5 shooters would have got the 5s too.
@@candyartstv not really. I bought the gh5 becauae it can do photo and video equally. Take away the photo its not my camera. Gh5 is made for hybrid shooters. The gh5s basically is a blackmagic pocket 4k. Same sensor, no ibis, videocentric. The pocket sold well because blackmagic is for video only people, lumix is not.
Well they probably will make the S1R or something that is more hybrid with video features. But most filmmakers want a box style. So they will have the hybrid camera with great video features but then a box for professionals

I agree, so long as they can get internal NDs into a photo body (which seems likely with that patent they filed last year). Leave the box camera for the more midrange market position (FX6/FX9/C70/C300iii territory.
I would however love to see a photo-style body with an extending/tilting EVF, along the lines of what the C200 has, but with an extending/retracting design like most handycam-style cameras have, so that when it's retracted it's no different than the fixed EVF on a traditional photo body.
FX3 style with a modular back if we want to add Vmounts, XLR's... etc

It sounds more like panasonic Eva II dan S1Hii
They need to simplify and streamline the lineup. S5ii, S5iiX, S1 replacement, S1R replacement, S1H replacement is too much. Not to mention the rumored rangefinder/compact model that is supposed to ve announced soon.
I would love to know what the sales figures on the S1R were like- it always seemed to be a dud sales-wise. If they can kinda roll all the replacements for the S1 models together, at $4K, I think that would be a big hit. 35-40MP to enable 8K and to satisfy photographers, internal NDs, keep the rolling shutter to a minimum, the bigger battery and a body between S1 and S5ii size, with the combo tilt/flip screen, and the fan design from the S5ii to save on bulk. Then do a box-style FX6/FX9 competitor at $6-7K.
I do wonder if there's enough space to do ND, IBIS, and keep the physical shutter, though. Burano is just ND and IBIS. They could do an electronic non-global shutter, but that's still pretty limiting for photography.
Yeah I feel like if they did the internal nd with ibis they would have to ditch photographer for that video specific camera. But say they do that in an S1Hii box style for like $4.5K and then similar video specs but in a hybrid box the S1ii with photo and video capabilities but no internal nd for $3.5-4K that could be huge!!
