    I came close to getting the sportster S, but the LRS won me over in the end. I just had to go with the more traditional, air cooled, big twin, cruiser! Plus, I like the extra weight, and nothing beats the looks of a FXLRS! Especially the 20-21 with the gauges on the tank where they belong!

    If i can find one (and afford it) Im buying a Lowrider 131 next year but still keeping my ‘23 Sportster S.
    My SS is a absolute beast and eats up everything in its path.

    I have a Lowrider S with the 131 upgrade and I really enjoy it. So much that I am considering doing the 131 crate motor on my Road King Special.

      That is awesome! That low rider is a blast to drive with that big bore motor! I’m putting the 128 in my street glide and can’t wait!

    This is just an update for you man, I just ran 10.93@119mph in the 1/4 mile on my stock S. It ran the 1/8th in 6.91 @ 100mph.
    Is there any stock 131 crate swap lowriders doing high 10's? Honest question considering I've never done any research on the 131 besides basic specs.

      Wow that is a great 1/4 and trap speed! Congrats! The light weight to power ratio makes a killer combo that I doubt a heavier M8 could keep up with you

      Almost sad in a way, the cheap bike from Harley makes more power than anything else in the whole factory line up. Better than the 40k boats Harley puts out.

      Love a vrod though. Just don't love the extra weight that comes with them haha. I remember when they first came out I wanted one bad. But I was into muscle cars back then and didn't have the extra funds for another hobby lol. Overall the S is an animal in mid range. On the dyno mine makes 90% of its peak 89ft lbs tq at 3,500rpm. It's not loaded with torque like the 107 or 114 but it's linear as can be. Its a straight line across the dyno sheet. Enough for a 500lbs bike that's for sure.

    pretty surprised man. almost positive the Sportster S would take it.
    makes me wonder about doing the 131 on my Street Bob 114, haha
    thanks for the vid

    Will say, the sportster s launches extremely well with TC on, but I have faster launches with the tc off. Especially on warm tires as the sportster will pick the front tire off the ground if you can manage out the wheel spin from the dig. (I also am 19 at 160, so I don’t weigh that much and I’m pretty flexible). I think they are both extremely good bikes, but in my opinion, the sportster S will out do a 131 if both riders are well experienced. Definitely wish I could get a quick shifter, definitely a bike that needs it. Or just a throttle cut so you can keep at full throttle and not power shift. Also the sportster will spin the tire from 0-85 if you never stop the spin on cold tires. the tires stop spinning at 60 to 70 on warm tires

    • @S.R.Productions
      @S.R.Productions 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The stiff suspension on the sportster s causes a lot of the spin as even on the softest setting, you still only have roughly an inch of travel. If there was more travel, I fell the bike could hook a lot better from the dig. I am designing some front faring pieces to make the bike more aerodynamic, custom exhaust, and a different foot placement to help with overall looks and ergonomics. And to see if I can get a plug in option for at least no lift shift. Thinking about just wiring into the clutch switch plug. And making it so under full throttle. When the clutch is pulled. The engine will cut spark for roughly 0.75 seconds. Like no lift in a car lol. And the better foot position will benefit lean angles

      I doubt it. I have a '23 LRS with a 2BR exhaust and it pulls hard. My buddy has a 131 and took on an MT10 with 165hp and almost 200 lbs. less. Both were dead even 60- 130. I know a Sportster S can't take on an MT10. I'll take on any SS with my Z900 with 125 hp.

    The clutch on the sportster s in sport mode is kind of shitty when it comes to feeling when it engages. Combine that with the shifter being at the wrong angle with forward controls (I literally have to lift my entire leg up and back to shift it) and it takes a little bit of practice to launch the thing.

    • @TorqueandPower
      @TorqueandPower  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      True! I have a v-rod so the forward control thing was natural but definitely takes practice when launching hard

      Most likely it's the lighter flywheel of the Sportster S that makes its clutch feel harder to gauge

    124- inch build if you start off with a 107 engine and a 128-inch build if you start off with a 114 engine

    • @TorqueandPower
      @TorqueandPower  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do a 128 with a 107 from Harley and a 131 with a 114. If money is no object and you want to change out the crankshaft than the sky is the limit!

    • @amphibdriver1
      @amphibdriver1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TorqueandPower ---> I agree if money is not the issue, but most for most guys money is the issue so they use their stock crank in their 107 engine and only build a 124-inch.

  • @shane35fowler
    @shane35fowler 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My thoughts.... The Sportster S wasn't even close to in the right gear on the digs. 131 would probably still pull from the dig but not as bad....
    I'd also venture to say that from a stop the Sporty S would walk the 131 most of the 1/4 times I've seen with even a decent launch(1.8 60' was the best I've seen) netted mid 10 second 1340'

    • @TorqueandPower
      @TorqueandPower  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He was in the right gears just not familiar with the bike enough. It launches hard if you are not ready

  • @ddebro
    @ddebro 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah dude on the sportste S was much heavier, didn’t have the riding experience plus if you don’t push I The S past the 5k rpm you aren’t hitting the powerband. You guys should’ve switched bikes would’ve been a much better comparison.

    • @TorqueandPower
      @TorqueandPower  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We did switch it was the same result with me beating him. I weigh 240 so weight wasn’t that big of a thing and he did have “s” mode on. I think he needed more seat time with the bike 😏
