Ive had a 2019 road glide special for a month now with the Scorched orange Gloss/ Denim black accents. Found this video because im trying to figure out how to handle this for cleaning/detailing. Thanks for the info. I guess I need to try and keep the wax off the denim portions. What im curious about now is the "buglside" product that ive been using. Not sure if I can use that on the denim or not....gonna have to look into that. I do like that denim blue too!
I had an 08 street glide in dark blue denim that I bought new. Loved it and got so many compliments on it, but when I did stretched bags and fender, it was a bear traitor find someone to paint it. Also over the years the UV damage started to show under the right light conditions, and that is with it being garaged all the time. I have a 2019 Ultra in two tone gloss now, and while the head turner that the street glide was, I’m much happier with it….
My bike has denim grey paint. I really liked (and still do) the color. I did research before buying this bike and one of the pluses was that you don't wax it. That really appealed to me. On the down side bugs and road grime really get buried in the paint and it's a bit harder to clean if you don't get to it soon in my opinion. I heard the same thing about the Harley denim cleaner that it's windex. And windex is much much cheaper. But the smell of the Harley denim cleaner. Oh my gosh. I really like the smell. I wish it was a cologne. lol. And I think the Harley sun wash soap has the same smell. If/when I buy my next bike I think I may get the gloss paint. It just edges out the denim paint but not by much in my book. Just found your channel yesterday and enjoying your videos
The worst thing about denim. You come home and your girlfriend surprises you by detailing your bike. Wash and wax the whole thing.... Not so denim anymore but a glossy dull finish.
@@TorqueandPower Hope is in the past! But it did! She had no idea that you don't use wax on it. Tank, Fenders .... Everything painted came off and went for new paint. I was tired of the buzzard puke green anyway. It's Vivid Black Gloss now so for just than a few bucks I got a brand new bike. In my mind! Or that makes me feel better anyway. And we're happily married now and all is good.

I had that white VRod. Great bike but I Hardly rode it though.

I have seen too many denim bikes with road rash. Darker the color the worse it looks. Haven’t seen that with gloss.
Gloss at least you can buff and such with helps. Denim is a repaint
