Yes, yes, and yes! Last year Leo went on 14 flights with me 😳 (10 of those by myself) and let me just say it again- WEAR YOUR BABY. It makes everything SO much easier. I made the mistake my first flight of taking him out of the ergo and it was a nightmare from then on. And by nightmare I mean my stroller went down the alleyway and crashed into the wall while he was screaming in my arms and blankets and toys flew out of the stroller. 😩 I will say that we actually found that taking Leo’s stroller or car seat through the airport was very helpful. We have the graco travel system and have found that it was really nice to have the stroller through the airport to carry our bags and, in the event we had a delay or long layover, I could put him in the stroller and give myself a little break (this is also really nice for potty breaks). I can definitely see the benefit of checking them though. Again, I traveled mostly on my own so no one else was there to carry bags or hold him if I needed a break. Oh! And I travel southwest mostly and they have family boarding, which I LOVE. You’re one of the first to board the flight so you have a little more time to get settled. As a seasoned traveling momma, I just want to say that you hit the nail on the head!
Deanna Ver Schneider Thanks for sharing Deanna. I’m glad to hear the perspective of someone flying solo. I wanted to speak more about bringing the stroller along through the airport and gate checking for free. I’m glad you covered that. Your comments are very helpful.
Thank you for the encouraging words about dirty looks from other travelers. That was super helpful and something I haven't really seen on other tip videos.
I’m traveling with my 7 month old tonight and have been going through as many videos as I can before we leave (freaking out) This was definitely the most comforting video I’ve seen and I think I’m ready now lol . Thank you so much for this !
THANK YOU!!My wife and I are expecting our 1st one Feb 2020. I’ve always wondered how to travel with our lil one to be.Thank s to your advice and tips...I get to say “I got this” 😉
I'm about to take my 6 month old on a flight for her first time...by myself. I am totally freaking out about this..and this video has kind of calmed my nerves. thank you so much.
Great tips! Love how this is organized and concise. I also like to check the stroller right away and then wear my baby through security. For those who are bringing a carseat onboard it's important to remember that it either needs to go in a window seat, or for airplanes with two aisles it can go in the middle seat of the center row. I find that flying with a baby or toddler usually ends up being easier than expected. 🌺 Heidi
Another tip is that most airlines let you gate check your stroler if it's going to be easer to get your baby though the airport with it. Then when you get off the plain they hand it back to you and put your baby righr back in.
Hi, do you have any advice for flying with a 2-3 month old? I'm due to give birth in April and hope to attend a wedding in Ghana (West Africa) in August. So i'll be flying from London, UK to Ghana which is a 6.5hr flight.
The issue with red eye is.... if the baby doesn't sleep well on the plane, then he/she wakes up the whole plane :P Great informative video, thanks for sharing the tips!
We’re flying to Barcelona in 5 days with Air Portugal. They actually don’t allow you to sit your baby anywhere but in the window seat (if the baby is sitting in a car seat).
I was browsing in you tube hoping for a vlogg than can help me with travelling with a newborn. I found you! Thank you so much. We have the same baby carrier. Babybjörn is made in Sweden. Take off & landing if the baby sleeps, let them sleep! This is the best tip 😉
I'm about to go on a 10+ hour flight for the first time with my 4 month old son. I appreciate the tips on this video, and I just want to say: I'm gonna hold you to everything you said here. EVERYTHING! Just kidding. the tip about a compact stroller and being checked in free is VERY much appreciated. Thanks for the tips.
May i know what were those strollers you mentioned at 1:54-56? Kinda cool. We're on the midst of trying to figure what's best to buy for our baby. Thanks!
I think you just need to let your baby feel how he or she feels. What is this negativity to baby crying? I agree it’s not plesent but nothing wrong with a crying baby. I never get upset at parents for upset children in public, you can’t control their emotions. I could understand maybe a kid that is throwing things but just crying is not a crime. We need to be more open to feelings and understanding that crying is not a bad thing and is ok weather you are a baby, teen, adult or whatever. If baby feels like crying the whole flight than cry. Tend to the bay best you can and comfort but don’t worry about if he or she can be stopped. The more you relax the more baby will too.
Hi, love your videos. What baby carrier would you recommend? I have planed a fly with a two month baby and I am looking for a good baby carrier. Thanks for any advice.
Very nice tips. M going to travel (international) with my 3month old baby boy next month. Your tips are helpful to get prepared. BTW nice baby carrier. Which brand is that? Thank you:)
Hi, which baby carrier are you using in this video? It looks pretty comfortable for your baby. How do you like it and would you recommend it for a new born?
Helpful, but scary. Yesterday I talked (not typed or searched on Google, simply talked) about this and today this video shows up when I launch the TH-cam app. This is not the first time it happens, to get videos about stuff I just talked about.
I love it that ur chill :) it is really like a mental game. my family loves to travel and im on my 3rd pregnancy so yah this will be another mental game when we go back home :)
Last week, we came home from California and our one year old literally puked on me 30-mins into the flight. Not spit-up. Puke. I smelled like vomit for two hours on that flight. Sucky trip but I really didn't give a damn. The people around us were kinda bugged, but life happens. Gotta laugh it off and just roll with it. How old are your other two kids?
5 and 2 yr old....now im pregnant on my 3rd :) oh my that puke smell....thus we have lots of alcohol so that we can spray it....sanitised and lots of those plastic bags that we bought from pet store so that we can store used clothes etc. .........its very challenging, tiring but so worth it...we always travel with our family :) eventhough lots of people are telling us that is expensive...the kids will not understand it yet....but we just want to travel with them....it creates lots of memories and we are a filipino family living in singapore so we make it a point that we go back to the Philippines or travel elsewhere :) thus I created vlogs...so nice to capture all our moments then we watch it on our big smart tv at home and the kids love it that they see themselves at the tv :)
Love the videos! Could you guys do a video on how to travel with a baby via car? Going on a 12 hour drive with our 6 month old daughter soon. So nervous! 😬😬
brittany pannell Good luck with your trip! We travelled via car when our baby was just a month old. Even though the drive could've only taken 3 hrs, it was a lot longer because we made multiple stops to give him a break from the car seat as well as to feed him.
brittany pannell Great suggestion. We did a 2-day road trip from Utah to Texas and it was a great learning experience. I’ll do my best to make that in the coming weeks.
Hi, I wonder if it’s possible or allowed to put the baby in the bassinet and go to the lavatory when travel alone? Or I just need to carry the baby(wake up baby)when I need to go? 😂 I have global entry and TSA Pre so it should be ok to go through the security check. 😊
I saw another video that said that you have to put your baby down when you're taking off? I also read that children under 18 don't need identification for domestic flights do you have any insight
Im Having my baby in december and will travel to mexico february alone with baby because my boyfriend lives in mexico! very helpful. does anyone have anymore tips?
for the infant lap seat, what do you recommend to have? Shall we buy anything so that baby can sleep easily on my lap while making sure baby is secured if for some reason I sleep?
I have a question regarding riding a cab when you travel. It's great to have capsule infant car seat to carry around that can be strapped to an uber/taxi but that carseat only until 12month old baby. What about for toddler? How are they gonna sit in the taxi/uber during travel? Thank you
You're allowed to take more than the 3.4 oz limit in your checked bag if it's formula or breastmilk. You can read more on that here: bit.ly/324R5XX Regarding bottle warming, I'd recommend a portable warmer that can plug into an external battery. Here's one to check out: amzn.to/3GFJSfO
Hello!! but did you check in the car seat too? or they let you have it in the seat with you? do you have to travel with the base of the car seat too? I'm FTM and I have no clue haha I also bought the uppababy vista and I want to make sure I travel with the right stuff. thanks!
Hi Linda, so this is entirely dependent on the parent. The FAA recommends that a child be restrained, but many travel without a car seat and just hold the baby. You are legally allowed to do this free of charge up until your little one is 24 months. If you decide to do this, then you can check your car seat at no charge. If you decide not to hold your baby on your lap, you'd have to purchase another seat for the flight and install the car seat on the plane without the base. We have the Uppa Mesa which is approved for airplane use but the base is not, so we'd have to check that. Be sure to check that your car seat is approved for airplanes. I hope that helps.
Thanks for your fast response!! I have the Uppa Mesa too so I'm planning to use it with the stroller and I will have to take the base so I can use it in the place I'm going in a regular car. one last question, so if you used the car seat in the plane, did your baby had his own seat or you just had to have it on your lap? thanks for all of the info!!
Unfortunately you'll have to purchase a whole seat to be able to bring the car seat along. I know, it's a lot more expensive which sucks. But it's technically much safer than just holding the baby on the flight. Safe travels!
I have been watching your videos for a couple of days now and I must say I am really impressed with the quality of them and how well you research your content. Great job, fantastic channel and I will definitely recommend it to my friend. I hope you get millions of subscribers and that you will be able to make good money on it because it really looks like you're working hard and working hard should be well paid :)
What if you are only flying domestically? Would you still need to bring ID for the baby? Would a birth certificate be sufficient or does it have to be photo ID?
Can you have your baby in the stroller all the way to when you get on the plane? Then check it and get it when you get off? Because my daughter is too heavy for me to carry. 😂
Ya. TSA will check your everything at the gate as per usual. When you board the plane they’ll just tag your stroller and load it on and you’ll get it back when you unload. Before the tsa, ask the check in attendants for a plastic bag to cover your stroller with.
I need to take my 18 days baby on 3 hours flight. I'm super stressed right now whether to take him or not. I can't avoid this travel. Most difficult decision of my life.
Do you think it's necessary/helpful to get the travel bag for the stroller just for the sake of checking it in? And I'm debating on whether we should bring his play pen to sleep in or just use the hotel's.
That's a good question. You got us thinking about it for a while and yes, I'd say the travel bag is a good investment. The most important feature about Uppababy's travel bags is insurance. If airport baggage handlers break your stroller/cars seat when inside Uppa's travel case, it's insured for any damage incurred. We registered the bags, stroller and car seat in their system. If anything happened in transport, we won't have to worry from now on. Regarding sleep, we have a small Pack n' Play that we've travelled with. Henry never sleeps as well in those, but we prefer it to other substitutes.
We just learned this lesson and I thought I'd share. We asked for a crib/pack n' play through the hotel. When we received the pack n' play it had a queen size sheet folded up in it. I asked the hotel if they had proper sheets and they said no. We traveled to another hotel and I called ahead and asked if they had proper sheets for the pack n play and they also said no. Both of these hotels were full service popular brands. We now travel with our own sheets.

That do you do with the stroller? Do you bring it on t he plane with you?

This was such a no-nonsense, helpful video!
Great tips, I'm actually waiting on my delivery for my compact stroller.

The best one on this topic ❤
May i know what were those strollers you mentioned at 1:54-56? Kinda cool. We're on the midst of trying to figure what's best to buy for our baby. Thanks!

When we went to Bahamas with our kids, we brought 2 car seats and we had 4 bags, 1 stroller😂 tough but worth it. Nice video for tips
Thank you for making this video!!! The most informative one I've seen!!!
Very nice tips. M going to travel (international) with my 3month old baby boy next month. Your tips are helpful to get prepared. BTW nice baby carrier. Which brand is that?

Dad Verb thank u so much :)
Dad Verb what is the stroller ( brand name ) .. that was awesome . Great tips DAD 😊
Question - which travel car seat bag did you go with? Did it protect your car seat? Were there any issues?

Really helpful tips! Thanks for the vid 😊

Great tips with great advice
Great video!! Thanks for sharing!
So helpful thank you!
Great tips in this video! Thank you!
Omg your baby is too adorable!!
Great and useful video! Thank you
Thanks man! I hope new parents find this one helpful.
I’m due in January so your videos have been very helpful with most questions I’ve had. I’m most nervous about changing poopy diapers. 🤢🤮
Hi, I wonder if it’s possible or allowed to put the baby in the bassinet and go to the lavatory when travel alone? Or I just need to carry the baby(wake up baby)when I need to go? 😂
I have global entry and TSA Pre so it should be ok to go through the security check. 😊
So so helpful. Thank you!
I saw another video that said that you have to put your baby down when you're taking off? I also read that children under 18 don't need identification for domestic flights do you have any insight
What is the the best seat when you're flying with your baby?
Such a cute baby!
Im Having my baby in december and will travel to mexico february alone with baby because my boyfriend lives in mexico! very helpful. does anyone have anymore tips?
Im traveling in 2 days to go see my boyfriend who elso lives in mexico and im just freaked out going by myself with a baby😂
chikiz :v i’ve been watching so many videos good luck !!
Excellent video
The actual useful video
Thanks for the videos ... Pretty cool!!
What baby carrier are you using ?!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video!! Super helpful and I learned a lot!!
Happy to make it! As he gets older, I'll try and make an updated version for traveling with toddlers. Also considering a road trip guide with babies.
What kind of baby carrier are you using?
1:55 what is the name of the sleeping bag kind of looking thing on the stroller? Thank You.
That's a foot muff or a winter muff. Some brand of strollers offer it but not all.
Thanks for the tips...but I have a question though are portable play pens allowed for international travel...any idea
Domestically you're allowed bring a portable playpen to luggage check. I would assume you can do that internationally as well but I'm not 100% sure.
Great advice ✈️👶🏻
what is the baby carrier you are using ... i really like the design... do you have any suggestion for babycarrier ...
I think you mean an FAA compliant car seat (not TSA).
for the infant lap seat, what do you recommend to have? Shall we buy anything so that baby can sleep easily on my lap while making sure baby is secured if for some reason I sleep?
Depending on your airline, they should be able to provide you with a connecting infant lap belt.
I have a question regarding riding a cab when you travel. It's great to have capsule infant car seat to carry around that can be strapped to an uber/taxi but that carseat only until 12month old baby. What about for toddler? How are they gonna sit in the taxi/uber during travel? Thank you
you'd take the carseat exactly the same way?
Should do a part two with more than one kid travel tips
How do you warm up the milk if you're bottle feeding? Also are their ounce restriction on carrying pumped breastmilk?
You're allowed to take more than the 3.4 oz limit in your checked bag if it's formula or breastmilk. You can read more on that here: bit.ly/324R5XX
Regarding bottle warming, I'd recommend a portable warmer that can plug into an external battery. Here's one to check out: amzn.to/3GFJSfO
What about a pack n' play? Is there a limit, can I bring my stroller, car seat and pack n play
Should put the gear you recommend in the description cause you speak very fast
Would you mind telling me what carrier you’re using? Thank you!
That's the BabyBjorn One: amzn.to/3dYU5rb
You didn’t address going through security with baby formula and hot water ( liquids ) ; what’s the policy with that ?
Ybba Ram can take as much formula/breast milk as you need.
thank u very helpful
STOP...
what's the stroller ?
The brand that folded up co compact??
Great job on the Video
Helen Hines Great ..thank you so much

Anyone have the working link for the jet lag tips?
Every parent should know, TRAVEL LIGHT when you have a kid 💡
He is cute man!
Question man, what did you guys do for baby formula/milk?
We pre-filled a few dry, empty bottles with formula. When we needed to feed, we filled it with water and used as needed.
Not TSA compliant car seat. Its FAA compliant car seat.
What if you are only flying domestically? Would you still need to bring ID for the baby? Would a birth certificate be sufficient or does it have to be photo ID?
Birth certificate is fine. They may not even check it but it’s good to have in case.
We took our 18 days old baby in 2 hours flight. He was mostly sleeping. He seems okay after flight. Realized that flight travel is safe for babies.
Thanx..fr yo suggestion
Do you think it's necessary/helpful to get the travel bag for the stroller just for the sake of checking it in? And I'm debating on whether we should bring his play pen to sleep in or just use the hotel's.
