Another tip for TSA check, put all liquids and powder in a reusable shopping bag/tote. Baby wipes (I've been stopped before,) formula powder, formula liquid, milk, bottles/sippy cups filled with water (TSA won't care if you tell them its for the formula,) frozen breast milk, and any thermoses filled with food or liquid. Tell TSA it's filled with baby/toddler things and they'll bring it to the checking area. They'll ask you to open anything that's not in a clear container. Other things that can't be open (i.e. anything with a seal) they'll sometimes pat down one parent (it depends on the airport.) Once I get to the gate I put everything away to its rightful bag, collapse the shopping bag and store it in one of my carry ons.
New dad here. First, gotta pass a thanks for everything so far. Everything has been spot on, and this is no exception. We just booked our first trip and this was very well timed.
Great video! Thanks for sharing about Rents4baby, had never heard of that, great idea. I agree with you on the screen time, we don't normally do at home but on long flights it's a must. I do think traveling with a stroller is a must, but my suggestion is buy used or borrow a cheaper easy to fold stroller, we bought a city mini double for $60 on Craigslist and were so glad, kids didn't complain about having to walk, no baby to carry and can always use it to push stuff if kids aren't sitting in it, they fold flat and are good for traveling, unlike many fancier strollers like UppaBaby or so, which we love but not for traveling.
I'm pregnant right now and might be traveling on a 6 hour flight with a newborn in a few months. This video made me feel so much more comfortable about it, I have been so anxious! Thank you so much for all of this information, especially when you gave the viewpoint of other passengers.
We tried a red eye flight with my baby. I thought it would be perfect cause she would be sleeping. But boy were we wrong. She woke up midway of a 6 hour flight. She did much better on the morning flight on the way to the destination.
I’ve already commented and watched this video so many times, it’s THAT good 😆 I’m seriously considering buying the Minu V2 and curious if they allowed you to carry yours on the plane or made you gate check it
We’ve rented car seat twice (UAE and Germany) and it was so stressful and unsafe. That’s great it’s easier in states. Now I have two kids and any time I think about any trip I just can’t figure out how to drive safe with them, especially if I’m alone. Getting a taxi with two car seats it’s also not an easy task so even getting to the airport is a challenge. 100% agree with you on screens. If a have my 7 months old on my laps my toddler can watch all the paw patrol he wants. But I always have alternatives for him in case he is bored with cartoons (and this happened multiple times). As for getting on a plane early, I’ve never understand the rush. I’m getting one of the last either im alone or with kids. We will have plenty of time to get bored on this plane later.
Thank you for this! We have a trip planned this fall and it will be our first time flying with our baby, these tips are very helpful! Also, your family is beautiful 😍
Just hearing that little *ding* for the airport segment gave me anxiety 😂 Also, has thoroughly convinced me to not fly till kiddos are older lol. You guys are pro!
This is so helpful! We’ve done a few cross country flights with our baby and our three year old and honestly it’s kind of hit or miss with how well they do. We splurged on seats in first class for a flight coming up and I’m pretty nervous about the looks we’re going to be getting 😅 thanks for the great video!
Make sure to check with the airline to ensure the Baby is allowed on your lap (or in a bassinet) in First Class. I have been planning a splurge trip with my wife, and I've found a couple of the airlines have restrictions on lap babies in First.
We rented a car seat from the car rental company when we flew from UK to Spain with an 18 month old. The car seat was basic quality (no isofix)and cost £50. After two trips we could have bought a car seat and paid for itself, plus if you get a back for it you get extra free hold storage for nappies etc.
Top tip for Heathrow: Porter's are amazing. Will help you with all your luggage, so you can focus on the kids, help you check in and are completely free!
Awesome video! I feel tired from just watching this but there was a lot of good advice that we will definitely use. Props to you for traveling with multiple kids and filming!!
Omg I totally missed it but congrats on your new little one! This are good tips 😀. We will be traveling with one to TX from CA so... probably easier hehe
I travel with my kids a few times and most people are so kind and will help you out. But once with my 6 month old, short flight, 2 hrs. After I got seated and comfortable with baby on my lap. This woman asked me if I would switch seats with her so her and her boyfriend could sit together. Ummm no.
What's he playing on the 3DS? I have an old one and my kid's around the same age, but I'm not quite sure what games to get for it that he could enjoy and not get frustrated with.
How old do you recommend a baby to be to bring on a plane, I have a flight on the 28th but my daughter will only be a month old. What's your thoughts? I see mixed reviews.
What baby carrier do you have? My baby is 6 and half month but he is almost 10kg, so I gave it away the one that I had for infant babybjorn. So now I don't have any and I will travel in 2weeks
Do you recommend the headphones for newborns or babies between 0-6months of age ? I've seen people use them for weddings, sporting events or concerts. But do people use it for flights ? Thanks
While I'm watching over the kids, I'm not usually wearing my headphones just so I can be more alert for them. But for life in general, Bose QC45s all the way.
"...get familiar with your wife's diaper bag" Um, what? It's not your wife's, it's both of yours. What kind of father doesn't already know what's where in THEIR diaper bag?
While we're out as a family, sure you can categorize it as a family bag that everyone uses, but she'd largely claim it as hers. Good on you for stepping up as a dad and being familiar with the bag, but you'd be surprised with how many guys have never cared to look into a diaper bag, assume their wives always have everything packed and will do it all. For our travel setup, my backpack had much of the stuff for the boys while my wife's bag had stuff for the baby. When I'm with the kids/baby I have my own Kinbuilt diaper bag with my preferred configuration while my wife prefers her Freshly Picked as she considers it a hybrid of her personal purse and diaper bag.
I pack everything for my whole family because I like knowing I have everything, my husband just asks me where something is or if I brought a certain item. It works for us 🙂
@@dadverb you didn't have to explain, we all know how involved, organised, aware and productive you are. I'd say more than most fathers. Some people are just too pernickety.
Oh my goodness!!! My family of 5 is planning to fly this May for the first time! Baby will be 6 months, big brothers are 5 and 2.5 years old. Lord have mercy!!! This just makes me not want to travel. DFW to Logan ain’t going to be fun!!! 😩😩😩 Thank you for sharing! Tablets all the way!!!

Traveling in 2 days, long haul, first time, and with a 1yr old. Wish us luck! Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the vid. With our first , only took a couple trips with her. Now we have a second and upcoming third. Want to travel with them now.
I love how you answered so many of your viewers Questions.
What a kind thing to do. 😊
This is a much needed and well timed video! We are travelling with just one baby this October but we are already freaking out about the flight! 🤣
Glad we got this video out just in time.
Amazing, thanks! Preparing for an international flight coming up with our first baby and nervous as hell! 😆 Thanks for the tips!
Glad this was helpful to you!

It was it 50 for the week or per day?
@@dadverb it was a week but I think it’s just a standard charge per rental period.

I'd give anything to go back to London.

Oh, make no mistake - my wife hated me shooting all of that hahaha.

TX to CA was our exact trip. Traveling with one is cake, you got this.
The “sit wherever you…” comment had me rolling 😂
Thank you
Wondering why you decided to take the minu rather than the butterfly? Awesome vid, thnx!
Almost took the Butterfly but settled on the Minu since we already had the adapters for it to connect with the Mesa seat that we were bringing along.

Yeah some people don't understand life with little kids. In time they will.
the audacity! 😠
What's your thoughts on bring your infant car seat on the plane...like purchasing a ticket for your baby (under 1 year) to secure them for the flights
If you have the money and a compliant car seat, go for it. For super long flights, I'd still take the baby out of the car seat on occasion.
What's he playing on the 3DS? I have an old one and my kid's around the same age, but I'm not quite sure what games to get for it that he could enjoy and not get frustrated with.
Yeah, I found it in a drawer and decided to let him give it a go. He played Mario Kart. Never stayed on the track, but he loved it haha.
How old do you recommend a baby to be to bring on a plane, I have a flight on the 28th but my daughter will only be a month old. What's your thoughts? I see mixed reviews.
You are literally the only one I’ve heard say to NOT board first. I like to board last and let my toddler run around lol 😂
Underrated strategy

Nah, I think it's fine to skip the headphones.
@@dadverb ok thanks!! Appreciate the video and response
Do you recommend noise cancelling ear phones for the parent?
While I'm watching over the kids, I'm not usually wearing my headphones just so I can be more alert for them. But for life in general, Bose QC45s all the way.

There s a magic cure …it’s called Benadryl 😂😴 I know it’s not “recommended” but…you do what you gotta do
This was super common when I was a kid. Pretty sure my mom gave me some.
