Put that car in a museum, it is perfect and clean. no need to drive it; it is too nice to drive; buy an old Miata and put a rattle can paint job and a turbo on it .. and give it hell ... nothing to worry about anymore; my old Miata's were this nice (once) and now they are both worn - and they are a lot more fun. I am 32 year owner of a 92; and a 10 year owner of an 01; both need a little (I plan to do some paint); anyway that is a very nice car, i plan to buy one after I finish wearing out my two Mazdas. Gorgeous car my friend, I seriously do want one. take care.
Yes, just two strands of ETV that I showed at the end, I did not get a good shot of inside the pickup so I did not include it in the video sorry about that.
So what actually is the remedy for this rtv issue? Is it the amount of rtv used during initial factory assembly? Was Toyota putting too much rtv and the excess of it clogging up the pick up?
@@JG-nw3ub Yes the problem is during assembly in the factory, they were applying more then the recommend amount of RTV and would fall off and get into the pickup. Right now the remedy is to drop your oil pan and pull any RTV out of the pickup. Do you actually have to do this, probably not, it really depends on what you are doing with the GR86.
Did you even check the screen inside the actual pickup for RTV? That's the whole point of this "issue" and you didn't even show it. IMO it's overblown by social media.
Yes I checked the screen in the pickup. Sorry I did not get a good shot of the inside of the pickup and decided to not include it in the video, maybe I should of anyways. The two strands of RTV I show at the end is pulled from inside the pickup.
That's pretty expensive, it wouldn't surprise me though to see it being more expensive. I'm sure certified mechanics aren't cheap, the range probably depends on the hours it will take too.
thank you for making this video it was very helpful!
Thank you! Glad to hear the video was helpful

Thank you! Wouldn't mind getting an old Miata, it would be a lot of fun. I enjoy driving the GR86 to much to just keep it sitting around.
Did you find RTV inside the pickup tube? This is why I am watching this video.
