@@GasAndWatts Thank you!
Looking forward to seeing your results on the track.

I will give that a try
Appreciate the confirmation with being on track with my suspension upgrades I’ve done so far same parts
@@HugoCarrillo-sp6vu nice! What’s the goal with it?
Why does your car weigh an extra 1,000 pounds? 😂 Gross weight is not the weight of the car, that means with cargo, passengers loaded to the max of what the suspension and drive train can handle. 2nd gen gs is 3,649
@@804MRMAN 2002 GS300 gross weight is 4,700lbs and the curb weight is 3,700lbs. Im just using worst case scenario numbers in case you find me in a ditch somewhere fully loaded. It is a daily lol.
@@GasAndWatts Gotcha! Lol.

Did you find RTV inside the pickup tube? This is why I am watching this video.
Yes, just two strands of ETV that I showed at the end, I did not get a good shot of inside the pickup so I did not include it in the video sorry about that.
So what actually is the remedy for this rtv issue? Is it the amount of rtv used during initial factory assembly? Was Toyota putting too much rtv and the excess of it clogging up the pick up?
@@JG-nw3ub Yes the problem is during assembly in the factory, they were applying more then the recommend amount of RTV and would fall off and get into the pickup. Right now the remedy is to drop your oil pan and pull any RTV out of the pickup. Do you actually have to do this, probably not, it really depends on what you are doing with the GR86.
@@JG-nw3ub Subaru build both the GR86 and BRZ.
thank you for making this video it was very helpful!
Thank you! Glad to hear the video was helpful
Thank you for the video! From what I understand, it seems that a disgressive damping setup would be better for my situation. I plan to use my car primarily for street driving, with occasional track days. Given the heavy traffic and the numerous potholes in my area, I need a suspension that can handle both conditions. I hope you can read this comment-could you please offer some advice? Thank you again!
Are you driving this in the winter months? Looking forward to seeing it in action and your choice of winter tires.
I will be driving this in the winter, we don't get much snow here (we do get quite a bit of ice though) and when we do it's usually gone with in a day or two.
Put that car in a museum, it is perfect and clean. no need to drive it; it is too nice to drive; buy an old Miata and put a rattle can paint job and a turbo on it .. and give it hell ... nothing to worry about anymore; my old Miata's were this nice (once) and now they are both worn - and they are a lot more fun. I am 32 year owner of a 92; and a 10 year owner of an 01; both need a little (I plan to do some paint); anyway that is a very nice car, i plan to buy one after I finish wearing out my two Mazdas. Gorgeous car my friend, I seriously do want one. take care.
Thank you! Wouldn't mind getting an old Miata, it would be a lot of fun. I enjoy driving the GR86 to much to just keep it sitting around.
That end transition was. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Did you even check the screen inside the actual pickup for RTV? That's the whole point of this "issue" and you didn't even show it. IMO it's overblown by social media.
Yes I checked the screen in the pickup. Sorry I did not get a good shot of the inside of the pickup and decided to not include it in the video, maybe I should of anyways. The two strands of RTV I show at the end is pulled from inside the pickup.
Just try a dealer $600-1000.00 No f …. Way
That's pretty expensive, it wouldn't surprise me though to see it being more expensive. I'm sure certified mechanics aren't cheap, the range probably depends on the hours it will take too.

Thank you! Everyone is different though, so my opinion might be different than others
I really like the looks and the battery range, but how can you buy spare parts If the company goes completely bust??
Part will be pretty hard to come by, as of right now you will find some people selling parts on ebay. Another great place to get information in the Fisker Owners Association, which was start to help Ocean owners.
@@GasAndWattsI’m in the UK and they are selling the long range models for roughly 25k British pounds. I’m not sure if it’s worth parting with 25k for a vehicle that has no warranty, no parts, bad software and a collapsing manufacturer. Add an additional 5k on that initial 25k (so 30k in total) and you can buy an Audi without any problems alike the Fisker.
@@SISTIC1 That is pretty expensive, here they are 25K U.S. and people are selling the all the part for more then they are purchasing them for. It is a huge problem that there isn't a company behind it anymore.
@@GasAndWattsThat’s really bad. I feel sorry for people that bought full price at 60k; an overnight loss of at least 35k! There’s not many in the UK market, just a hand-full. Maybe that’s why they’re slightly more expensive than in the US, plus we’ve got 20% tax on new vehicles registration here in the UK. They are really nice looking cars but an absolute flop from a buyers perspective. final conclusion: for 25k not worth the risk.
White is a very nice colour!!

Bottom perch should be used to set the bump stop engagement height, and the spring perch should be used to adjust ride height.
@@TM-fx5le I believe that is true for coilovers with no adjustable shock body adjustment, unlike these type of coilovers
@@GasAndWatts It’s true for all coilovers, regardless of a threaded shock body. If you’ve set your coilovers up using the shock body as a height adjustment then you’ve done it wrong. Not being a douchebag but just trying to pass on some knowledge that took me a lot of experience to understand. Even some lower end coilover manufacturers recommend setting your coilovers up using the shock body, which is extremely misleading. Watch the TH-cam film by Annex Suspensions on how to set bump stop height.
@@TM-fx5le thanks for letting me know! Will check out annex suspensions. Always want to learn more. That is just what I’ve learned from the things I have read.
@@TM-fx5lejust watched it and now I understand what you’re talking about. First, remove spring and adjust bump stop with bottom perch, then adjust upper perch for ride height. Which can cause preload to be out of spring parameter and might need to change spring length. Thanks for letting me know!
