Love your comment and think your so spot on channel like matts would make good main stream tv content and BBC should scrap the current topgear and give matt there slot on air im sure there see the rating go back up lolz
what you had on your stock induction system is a recirculation valve , which means when you let off the throttle to shift for example , the lost pressure is sent back into the system to eliminate lag going into the next gear , this new setup uses a "atmosphere" blowoff valve , which just dump pressure out of the system , it can create a bit more lag between gears , but with bigger turbos and hopefully a tune you shoudnt feel any difference ! same principle for wastegates (exhaust side) most smaller turbos have internal wastegate , whereas bigger turbos will only have an external wastegate ports . you can control boost with wastegates , and also have to make the blowoff valve spring suit the setup .

Damn, Matt’s approach kind of make me change my perspective on everything I aspire to do. I can't get enough of your videos, Mat. I admire and respect your work and that of your entire team. Keep it up! 💪 I have a small concern about the location of the air filters, isn't there a risk of getting wet or drawing water when it rains, as well as when the car is washed with pressure?
I had a 10 second Mk4 Supra TT, took it to Santa Pod once, unfortunately i had bad tyres first trip and spun the wheels in every gear! I just could not get grip! Left, came back another time with better tyres, got a 10.1 😁 i had my confirmed 10 second Supra! Sadly financial bad times hit, had to sell the car, got really bad money for it, this was before they shot back up in value, and every day since I've regretted having to sell it! Now the chances are i will never get to own a 10 second Mk4 Supra again! But... i did once! Thats the main thing!
@Jabber-ig3iw yeh but that's just how it's said, you could do a 10.9 and it's still called a 10 second, I didn't understand that at first either, but that's just how it is.
Great video, thank you as always for sharing it. Question, I was looking for the rebuild of Pinky, the GT3 that you turned into a sod cutter on the old top gear track. Did you delete them? They aren't on either channel.
I love the interactions between Matt and Tony! I grew up in a garage as a kid, my father was into American muscle cars in the late 60's, 70's, and into my childhood in the late 70's and early 80's. The times we had, in stubborn cars, and car parts, winning lil wars with certain cars that were just cantankerous, and busted knuckles...My father was a diesel mechanic by trade, and his father also...my father grew up in a transmission shop, that my grandfather owned, always around cars. My father dreamed of retiring, and us two building a project car, ground up restomod...but unfortunately 2 months from his retirement, he suffered a massive stroke that caused cognitive damage, and another massive stroke a year to the day from the first. This stroke robbed him of everyday normal life, and left him with dementia at 60yrs old.....That's been 13yrs ago, my father has been in a nursing home for the last 5yrs....What I'd give to relive those days in my childhood retrieving wrenches, and sockets from the rollaround tool boxes, as young child, to pumping brakes, to learning how to change brakes, to working and maintaining my own cars as a teenager...My father sold his racecars when I was born, a 55', and 57' chevy Belair's...and 69' Camaro...all built to the hilt! I thought I was going to have the chance to enjoy eachother as two men, and father and son....So please enjoy every moment you have with your father, and make memories that last forever...✌️
Good to see a GTR on the channel! Could’ve done a 10 with just a full exhaust, intakes, injectors, pumps and tune on e85 and saved a few days without dropping the motor.
@@MielesmanFDyeah same I got a 10.8 first time out with a mid pipe and e85 tune and some filters nothing else. I was also bogging hard on launches and doing 1.85 ish 60 foots - so easily could’ve been a 10.6 with a better launch
@@gapzlaGTR Exactly, im @ 10.4 with a shep 1k pushing it but i still think its got more. If i were to add the a good intercooler and do 1300cc instead of 1050cc injectors i could squeeze more. Supposedly you can do 9.99 on stock turbos.
@@MielesmanFDyeah you can! I know a few people who’ve done 9.7 and 9.8 on stock turbos. I was trapping 137mph the last time I went out maybe 12 months ago hitting 10.6, but I had shit tyres so couldn’t grip on launch. The 60 foot at that mph was 1.95 and 2.05 lol that mph is a 9.99 mph trap speed for sure
Fun stuff!! I remember all this GTR repairs from watching Alex @ Legit Street Cars take apart more of the trans and repalce the fuel pumps. Same stuff!
It’s a myth “cold air intakes” are better than stock airboxes. Stock boxes are ducted to pull in cold air from outside of the engine bay, and have large surface area filters. The round cone filters sitting in the engine bay pulls in hotter air. Also, stock air boxes are designed to drain rain water instead of soaking your aftermarket filter. Check out the Mighty Car Mods video on it.

Legit street cars just did this service on the transmission, but he cleaned the solenoids and put the service bulletin clips in..
I can't get enough of your videos, Mat. I admire and respect your work and that of your entire team. Keep it up! 💪
I have a small concern about the location of the air filters, isn't there a risk of getting wet or drawing water when it rains, as well as when the car is washed with pressure?
Swear your dads laugh is infectious love the guy
I've been watching my TH-cam for Mat's new video for days 🇿🇦
Love this channel, these boys have so much fun building cars, makes me smile they haven’t got any bench’s and work off the floor.
Only one thing: THIS IS THE BEST CHANNEL ON TH-cam !
10.1 is over 10 seconds though🤷♂️
@Jabber-ig3iw yeh but that's just how it's said, you could do a 10.9 and it's still called a 10 second, I didn't understand that at first either, but that's just how it is.
Has to be 10.0 or below surely. That's an 11 second car. You wouldn't say a sprinter can run 100m in 10 seconds if their PB was 10.68 or whatever
Hey, I agree! But I don't make the rules, I'm just repeating what I've seen an heard
Great video, thank you as always for sharing it. Question, I was looking for the rebuild of Pinky, the GT3 that you turned into a sod cutter on the old top gear track. Did you delete them? They aren't on either channel.

That will be the one
This deserves so many more subs!
Well said .
Loving the longer videos
Good to see a GTR on the channel!
Could’ve done a 10 with just a full exhaust, intakes, injectors, pumps and tune on e85 and saved a few days without dropping the motor.
Right! I do 10s with FBO and E lol
@@gapzlaGTR ahh see man we must be not pushing it hard enough 🤣 we need to be hitting those low low 10s then !
Dope car , I would def listen to the song “Dupe - CTM” in that car 😅
BOB IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Best Part When MAT Say's "The Valvoline Is Protecting The Floor"🤣🤣
Yeah Oil waste 🎉
Let’s go Mat, Iv got to say it again bro, it feels like ages since you’ve uploaded. Good to have a new video 🎉🎉
Fun stuff!! I remember all this GTR repairs from watching Alex @ Legit Street Cars take apart more of the trans and repalce the fuel pumps. Same stuff!
On a roadtrip a d waited the whole day for this video😂.
NOOO WAY, not the sparks in the bucket 😭😭😭😭
Love your channel. Mesmerized every time. My skill set is capped at swapping brake pads, alternators, and fixing flat tires. Lol
Let’s make this gtr 1500 horse power 😅 51:30
But... Why did Nissan put a potato in the engine?! 😂😂 15:57
NOW we’re asking the real questions
Love watching these! Was watching when I was out in the US on business and now back and seen this! 💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
I agree just better with performance airbox filters
They also have a tuned plenum volume designed to work with the whole intake path… But that’s less on an issue with turbo cars.
Can we please state the fact he just walked past an LFA
I love what you do Matt 👍
Please promote mark McCann's insurance petition, you should be posting it up on your youtube as you are one of the biggest car TH-camrs in the UK.
Matt I am a person of colour. I was wondering why there was no one of colour in your team? Do you just not know anyone or is there another reason? I love your videos and can relate it little but if there was someone of colour millions more would enjoy your videos. Hopefully you can understand what I am trying to convey. 4:42
How about a black dyslexic transexual dwarf? Would that satisfy you?
Give it a rest mate
I simply cannot get enough of mats videos just absolutely brilliant, and his dad makes it as well
