2019 HD Denali 45200 K miles. Just had injector 4 pigtail repaired. Thankfully, my wife convinced me to get the extended warranty. Would have been a 1000 dollar repair.
I have a 18 duramax w/45K mi so I'm brushing up on some of these videos to be prepared to fix this when the time comes.
.already have a new GM pigtail in the glove box and I always have plenty of tools onboard to do a job like this.
They told me I needed a new no 8 injector total 800 bucks watched your vid bought a pigtail connector took to a diesel shop told them to change 8 pigtail and walla it’s fixed !! Thank you sir now I have 675 bucks that I didn’t have to spend!!
GM should do a recall on the pigtails! This is BS!
I just fixed 2 pig taila on my 2028 with 225k ..thank you...was broke down for christmas away from home..
I have a 2018 chevy 3500 saw it has a slight shake at idle. No codes. Could that be a injector pig tail?
Thanks
Love your content.Hope to get a 2024 Chevy 2500 next year
Did you get it?
@@LuisSanchez-xl7tb wife say no have a 1998 ranger with 240000 mile. I only drive it once or twice a week. I have a company work truck that I drive all the time. She can't justify buying it
Danny, do the wires have markings on them to tell which goes to which? I have to do my #4 tomorrow.
It’s a generic GM connector, so you’ll have to mark your wires before cutting it make sure they match up. I’d also grease that connector up with some dielectric grease and might as well hit all of them with grease while you’re in there. In my opinion, the connectors oxidize slightly from the heat /cool cycle and that causes a bad connection. I have a ‘17, and I plan to grease all of them up to see if I can avoid a failure.
Not coded wires...can hook into each one..
Would you recommend replacing all of the pigtails on the drivers side since it’s open and available. Have 145000 on my 2017 and cylinder 6 is coding for me?
Yes, def replace all of them. I get its a $300+ replacement, but you dont get to pick when they go bad and the stock ones are terrible. Get the fleece plugs.
I have a 2020 duramax with 186k plus on it. It kinda idles like this but it also idles with a light surge up and down. Any ideas where to start? Also which code reader on a budget will help me look for codes or issues? Thanks in advance.
Did you find out what it was? Mine is doing the same
@Choctawhatchee_Trash Yeah it was the cylinder number 4 injector connector. I ordered a foxwell code reader off Amazon and it knew exactly what was wrong. Luckily it was an easy fix at home with basic tools. Dealer wanted 800 bucks and I did it for 20 bucks for the connector.
Quistion I just replaced #5 injector plug and now I have no throttle can not rev the motor up?
Did you solve this?
I believe i have the same problem and im at 108k m … but i want to let the engine breathe and i don’t know were i can get all stuff i need it
It looks like I've either lost number five injector or injector connector, do you have any tips as to how to get access to that side of the engine? I'm not having any luck.
Number 5 will be one of the easier ones on the passenger side, you can take the inner fender liner off and the metal heat shield so you can remove the plastic injector cover. You should be able to get to do most of the work from the wheel well, taking the wheel off makes its easier. C Farmer here on youtube has multiple videos of him changing most of them on his and friends' trucks.
you replaced it with stock pigtails? Bro Fleece is what you are looking for, they dont die randomly.
Rodents on wires?
Reminds me when rats got ahold of my wires when it was parked 2 weeks
Did you actually need to pull the wheel liner? I don't see how it gets in the way? Thanks for the video... liked and subbed
Weird the firing order is like that. Opposite on GM gas engines. 1,3,5,7 are on driver's side.
