    Honestly, the equine community can be the most judgemental and unforgiving when it comes to commenting. Can't we all enjoy the effort that she always puts in making the videos instead?

    I've had some really horrible falls and never made a sound. Yet the other day my pony bolted and I fell and screamed. This 'Try not to scream' shit is just being ignorant. Cope on like we all scream when be get a fright it's a natural instinct😂

    "Stop screaming when you fall" that's like saying don't scream during the drop of a roller coaster. I'm sure she didn't mean to scream and she's aware it would spoil her but if you fall a few feet of the ground at a fast speed I'm sure you would too.

      STOP HATING I'm sure you would scream if we're riding a green pony and it started bolting and did a sharp bend you would scream.i bet she is a better ride than you so don't say anything if it's not nice

    People stop telling her what to do when a horse bolts. Everyone knows, but it's hard to think that fast.. For example, my trainer always gets mad at me for not doing a one rein stop on a bolting horse... But it's really hard to think clearly. Also, it's a natural instinct to scream.. So shut up

    3 is a perfect age to start breaking/training some horses. My pony was saddle broke at 2 1/2 and started doing very light ground work when he was three. As long as they are not doing very high intensity work then there is nothing really wrong with training and riding a horse at 3 :)

  • @laurastyles4668
    @laurastyles4668 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow mango looks like she has a nice trot I think it's clever how you make her used to the sound of the stirrups before you get on. I ride a pony that spooks and the slightest thing and I found that if you keep your body straight and have both rains up with the inside a little higher with the leg pressing towards the wall it stop fizz from spooking because I have him in a bend and in contact so he can't do anything. Also as other people have said to slow the trot and canter down to get a nice balance do some 20,10 and 15 meter turns to help. But keep up the good work mango is coming along nicely 👍🏼

    +Talicia Beardsmore : She seems to be coming along quite nicely and I wouldn't be to bothered about her being flighty, after all she is still a baby! I completely agree with you about the breaking age. My mare was broke at three then turned away over winter and she has become a brilliant little lady this year! Just a quick suggestion (if you haven't already done so) because of her age it is worth getting her teeth checked as she could be teething and her mouth could be a bit sore. This could cause her to overreact a bit when she does spook. If her gums are a little sore then rub in a small amount of bonjella or something similar to reduce the pain until the teeth balance out :) You are doing really well, I hope you are proud of yourself!

    To start ride a horse when it is 3 y/o is normal. We usually start ride them when theyr 3-4 y/o and some when theyr 5. Nothing wrong with that.

    I guess part of the difference between normal breaking and racehorse breaking is they're bred to race younger. We had a pony I broke at 3 until he was four, when he went to the national dressage championships, then had three months off. To be honest, as long as you play it by ear and don't overdo it, and turn them away, there's really no problem with them being broken at 3! X

    I'm a beginner rider (been at lessons for a year and a half now) and I'm terrified of falling off - it's never happened to me before. But you recovered so well and were pretty chill about it, I just hope I can be as brave when the inevitable happens, and that I won't get badly hurt.

    • @lauravstheworld7833
      @lauravstheworld7833 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't worry about falling off. My first fall has been my worst. But I got the giggles after. Still one of the best lessons I've had. You need to fall at one point. I know this sounds weird but I'm not scared of falling, I'm scared of losing control. You know, if you know your best chance is to bail. That's what I don't like.

    • @themikaexpress644
      @themikaexpress644 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don't worry about it. We all fall off sometimes and it's fine. I have fallen off my pony at least twenty times and I haven't come away with a scratch.
      Just remember to kick your feet out of the stirrups so you don't get dragged.

    • @Equestrian2001
      @Equestrian2001 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't worry, it was your choice to start riding and you do have to fall once or 100000 times that's just what it is you have to understand that this is an animal with its own mind :) don't be afraid to fall. You fall you get back on and try again:)

    im really not a fan of the horse racing industry,when my dad was in his twenties he worked at a stud and the reason he quit was because he had to drive a moterbike behind some horses to herd them up to a truck to go to slaughter!!! The horses in the group were a few old broodmares that couldnt have foals anymore,a little filly foal with crooked front legs and a stunning young gelding called Top Of The Wave who couldnt race because of his tendons had broken down,he would have died anyway but instead of kindly putting him to sleep he was trucked off to go go through an extremely traumatic terrifying experience!!!! and this still happens and most people dont know about it and dress up in those ridiculous hats and watch the races!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........................I really enjoy your videos,your really great with horses and im an Aussie girl too!

    If you ride circles it helps a lot with bolting horses, they are less inclined to bolt in a circle because its harder work, I find if you ride in big open spaces they think they can run away. Great riding though, if you've never fallen off you've never really ridden :)

  • @BreeKayBe
    @BreeKayBe 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    She's a cute little thing, she's not a bad girl for being green and young. 3 is not too young to break a horse, especially a brambi(sp?) they are like our American Mustangs and tough. She's fine, most people I know break and train horses here in America at 2 (I've seen some broken as early as 15 months and that is way too young). Arabians and gaited breeds(don't think you have many of those in Australia) of mine aren't broken till 4 but others usually 3 depending again on breed for my personal horses.

  • @aliandlady3649
    @aliandlady3649 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    hi talicia, can I say one thing you ride beautifully so don't listen to any one else and saying you can't ride is obviously wrong because you can and considering you've only been riding for about 3 years, you tide well. I know it's hard to sit to a horse that is in training because I've been there and now my horse lady is retired and she used to school and jump beatifuly, and mango and you have a lot of potential, and if you don't like talicia videos then don't watch her(I don't see why anyone would) I also don't think that she needs tips and pointers on every video because talicia said that her boss is a professional trainer and she has a trainer so if she wanted tips shed ask them, rant over! Great video by the way!

    Talicia 3 is the perfect age to start a horse lightly I start in saddle on my horses at 2 years of age and Mango is trained very well just remember to take it slow and sometimes it is best to go in the field and spend time with her since she is starting to be hard to catch

    When you ask for the canter DO NOT POST it cunfuses them always sit 5 to 6 strides (for a young horse) before you ask for the canter :) your vids are great btw your a great jumper

    Some people break them in at two because they're sound. Three is not bad at all! As long as the horse is sound, it is good.

    I love you talicia! I just don’t understand the stirrup tapping thing.. it takes a really long time to break in a pony, and I don’t entirely understand it... I think you should give her time and go more easy on her. Once you start dealing with bolting as a usual thing to do maybe mango will most likely lose the habit. No hate!

    • @TaliciaBeardsmore
      @TaliciaBeardsmore  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was very old haha. But the stirrup thing was the ensure she wouldn't spook at it. She used to be very paranoid about them moving so I did this before every ride and she ended up being perfect with them. She was not fully broken when I started with her. She had only had three rides on her prior to me. Which is why she still had bolting issues. By the time I was done with her she had no bolt in her and actually got sold on to a loving home
