I'm definitely not going to criticise or 'give you little tips' on your riding, I thought you did amazing, your boss clearly trusts you and knows that you know what to do and you also seem to be a very good judge of your own riding 😄 if not a little harsh on yourself (I do that too 😂) I thought she was going pretty well for you considering how green she is and she was definitely starting to accept the bit at the end!!! I can't wait to see you two progress!!!!!!! She looks like an awesome little horse and I bet you two will do great together!!!! Xxxxx

Haha she's so small and cute, I recently (this week) started my 15 year old broodmare and also have a five year old and a coming-three year old, so I can definitely relate to riding out those little "I don't want to!" bucks and fits.
She is adorably crazy!!!!!!! I can't wait to see how far she comes!!!
You are doing so great. I understand why you pulled when she/he bolted. That was your natural reaction. Something like this happened to me. I was riding a horse named Andy. We were coming back to the barn after a trail, just about to come off when a horse came galloping out of the woods from another trail. I think his name was smokey (not that it matters). So the rider fell off after he went crazy because he was stung by a bee. So all the horses in my trail line bolted to a gallop. We all managed to stay on, but yet again we all pulled on the reins. It's ok to make little mistakes as long as you learn from them. No person, or horse is perfect.

awww Mango is so cute!! You handled her really well, your such a talented rider!! You probably already know this but when ever my horse does anything stupid (buck, rear, pig jump etc) my trainer always says to pull on the inside rein and push her on into a tight small circle
I think mango has so much potential I'm so happy you're a talented rider and you're boss was smart to entrust mango to you.

Ugh my last riding lesson my horse staring freaking out a bit and my instructor had a big go at me for not telling the horse to stop and for not pulling on the bit, and in my head I was like "well that would just make the situation worse and freak him out more" then the instructor full on whacked the horse in the face and in my head I was like "omg wtf u can't do that"

omg something like that happened to me, i was riding my green connemara pony, he's 6 and was broken when he was 3 but was left in the field for around 3 years so no one was riding him and the man that owned him just gave him food so he doesn't starve. one day i was riding him, we were doing some jumping and he was going sooooooooo good until something didn't go his way and he bolted off with me into this little like 'forest' and i got stuck between him and a massive tree brunch- i was literally on his neck shouting my friend's name so that she comes to help me lol 😂 and yes she was there when i was riding i always ride with someone around just incase of an emergency xx

I'm glad you kept the bolting and pointing out your mistakes. I owned a pony that would do stuff like that except the rears were basically vertical and flat out galloping in the arena. I did the exact same thing and pulled on the mouth which I'm not proud of. I'm so glad you pointed it out as I no longer feel like I'm the only rider who does that and feel really bad.

great that you admit when you are the one making the mistakes, she may not have quite been ready for that particular bit, I know it is so easy to judge when you are not the one on a small quick horse who has more power than people think, I have learned that just using the inside rain and bringing your hand down low on the neck, only giving them pressure in the direction you want them to to go, so they can't turn their head out, can help, also the one thing that an instructor taught me once when I was on a small mare who would not stop bolting, was to give her some head, and literally push her forward, so it is me telling her to run, and when she decides she wants to stop, keep pushing them, keep running them for a while until they get that I will turn this into Me telling you to run, it worked like a charm, and twice was enough for her to never bolt on me again..thanks..that was 36 years ago lol..damn I'm old..hehe..hope it's going well..xo (I used run instead of gallop)

I was in that situation when I was like 9 and after a trail ride the arena gate was open and he bolted from the arena then stopped very quickly to eat the grass 😂 then my trainer said " r u ready to canter now?"

I need your help, basically we're looking at a horse (to buy) and I already have one, the one we don't own is a 16.2 and the one I own is 13.2 and she is a hard pony to train, and there is a option to loan her out and buying the other one, but I love my 1 and she is my baby, what do I do?
MyBayMare 199 Well are you a jumper? I feel that you should probably get the 16 hand one because he can probably jump higher and you pony could be a step pony for a child wanting more powerful pony and
we chose to not buy the horse seeing as me and the pony have got so far in her training, we didn't want to train her to this point and then leave her but thanks

OMG! I was talking to my instructor yesterday, and she told me we were not riding tomorrow, because the horse I ride lost a shoe....😄 then she said that there is a new horse there named smiley and he is a 14.2 palomino pony, and he is up for free lease, so of course I leased him😂😂 I meet him tomorrow, I can finally join pony club!

When u were talking about how u thought u were going to be thrown into the electric fence...... i know what you mean it hurts so much like one time i was riding the words calmest horse ever and then the giant truck that had all the hay in it decides to go over the speed bump.... and this time i was riding him in the ring where u can see the cars coming in.. then the next thing i know hes spooking bucking and bolting around the ring (thank god no one was in the ring) and then im doing acrobatics on horseback almost then e takes a sharp turn that throws me into the electric fence :l yah.
i know you hate me but i just like to congratulate you on how well your doing with her!! you both looked amazing and i can't wait to watch you two grow as a pair! good job again!! :) id also like to say sorry but i guess i already ruined my chance :/ :)

What I do with young horses that are similar to mango I do exercises e.g put the reins into one hand and do shoulder roles then the other shoulder . Then take one or both feet out of the stirrup and swing your legs and that will help Mango get used to feet out of the stirups (Hope this helped!)

You were thinking of getting a running martingale on a 3 year old. Great job though, I was always (JOKINGLY) told “ride like an Olympian with soft hands. until they fuck off, then forget all that and pull!” 😂can be quite difficult though as a natural reaction is to pull and stop x

I had a similar experience when I was riding. I was riding a horse named Fufu and we were meant to be trotting but then something happened and she bolted and I lost one of my stirrups and I couldn't get my foot back in so I had to use the reins to pull her up and turn her in circles and my instructor told me to lean back and I was leaning back so far I thought that if I leaned back any more I would touch her but. I eventually stopped her and it took me over a week to want to ride again. (Mainly because she bolted twice, spooked while we were loosening her girth because she zapped herself on the electric fence and finally she over jumped by about 50cm and I wasn't expecting it so I fell off and got winded and hurt my back. So my instructor had to carry me out of the arena where we were riding. Sorry you had to listen to me blab on. Anyway. I think that you handled the situation a lot better than I did
