Hello, I was wondering so do you still need to purchase a graphic card for the box station?
Trashes the Alienware eGPU, DOESNT TALK ABOUT THE ALIENWARE eGPU. The Alienware eGPU isnt for all laptops, it only works with certain Alienware laptops and actually it works quite well.. I would argue that it has a more efficient connection to the motherboard than does a type C connection as for it has its own port which essentially acts as a PCIE slot. They support whatever you can plug into it too.
We need something that is compatible with current and future GPUs. About to drop nearly 3Gs on a laptop, but I still have a 4090
Rtx 4000 series and rx 7000 series cards work in the Razer X Chroma enclosure. I have seen the Rtx 4070 and the Rx 7700xt work in it well.
The egpu enclosure came out in 2019 and the list of compatible cards has not been updated.

The bandwidth in tb4 is the same as in tb3.
If and when tb5 enclosures come out we will have double the bandwidth, which wold then be 80gbps.
You're not fitting a 4090 in any of these, physically that is. Just won't fit.

This is misleading. You can fit a 4090 in the Akitio.
Wow! I tuned in to this, umm, "review". It's 2024...Thunderbolt 5 is now out. Why is EVERY eGPU enclosure listed running Thunderbolt 3? If this is the "Best External GPUs 2024" I can only imagine what the worst are. Who is "HTECK"...and did they even try for something legitimate?

Can you make a video showing how to hookup the egpu to the laptop since it's not as straight forward as it may seem. Bought the core x chroma online for $250 and a 2070 super to go in it for $300 a few months back but haven't figured it out

These egpus are expensive, I tried China Egpus cost for $70 😂
How did that work out what was your fps and quality?
