What an extremely rude woman
They didn't talk about what is she going to do when her husband's money runs out. Her step daughter has a right to be concerned about her throwing away what he worked so hard for his entire life. This woman is horrible! She is unnecessarily nasty to the lady trying to talk & be kind to her.
This makes me wonder what she was like before this situation. So nasty. She definitely has a number of mental health problems.

to be true that she lashes out against these people because instead of seeing them as people that are trying to help her, she sees them as trying to destroy her fantasy of "love" with her "true soulmate" that she's concocted in her mind. Despite her nastiness and pride, I do at least sympathize with the fact that the reason the scam worked on her in the first place is that she's a widow from a 42 year marriage who's going through a combination of coming to the end of her life, grieving her deceased husband, & desperately lonely.

Why on Earth do they go to another country to find a man when there’s probably all kinds of widowers who would love to have a companion. Not a very nice woman to treat her step daughter so terribly and also the poor little lady in the audience who was so sweet and had also been through it, so she could have had a friend there but she’s so full of pride that she can’t admit that she’s made major mistakes with her decision making. It would be terrible to watch someone throw away what took a lifetime of hard work to some scammer on the other side of the planet.

When I was in my mid-late 30’s, I was on a dating site. I had a couple guys try to scam me. They didn’t but they can try to take advantage of people of all ages.
I feel so sorry for the step daughter. She lost the only mother she knew, and that step mother is vitriolic and cruel.
I feel bad for her too. How hurtful to be spoken to like that by the person her father married. It sounds like they once had a healthy relationship.
Guests are interviewed and asked a lot of questions before they go on the show. Step daughter probably talked about a lot more history with that woman and the editing crew chose to highlight her talking about getting new countertops and other gifts to fire up the interaction even more. These shows do that and it’s infuriating. I’m not sure this woman needed much poking though. She was even aggressive toward the other woman being scammed by the same scammer!
These elderly people who are sending scammers thousands, even millions of dollars are ensuring a crappy nursing home for themselves in the future. The kind of money this woman has/had, could pay for in home care. I don’t see anyone being willing to take her into their home to care for her, not after she’s spent her deceased husband’s money on scammers and disrespected his daughter on television like that.
Also, her name and information is on scammer’s radar now as someone who takes the bait. Someone will try her again, especially if she doesn’t change her personal information, such as email and phone number.

After her health scare, she adopted a fatalistic attitude. "I'm old & going to die soon anyway, so let me experience whatever brings me happiness, even if it's a lie. Don't destroy this fantasy that brings me happiness." That's why anyone that gives her information that destroys the fantasy, she gets extremely angry with them.

I have learned that a large percentage of people in these scams know it’s not real but can’t stop needing the dopamine hit they get from the “romance”. I’ve seen them go from one fake relationship to another.
So unfortunately she’s been a very sick and lonely elderly woman who felt like she had someone that loved her . She felt special, her feelings are hurt . She had lost her husband after 40 years and she wanted to be loved again . Her anger is because she was vulnerable . She’s sad about not just being scammed but with the reality that the love she believed was real was all in her head . She has a psychiatric problem . Depression is real she was willing to ignore the obvious signs to not feel the grief of losing her husband. Actually really sad for her.

She’s old to find love, instead she has to focus to love herself. She was loved by her husband and stepdaughter, that 42 yrs was a blessing. I got annulled at the age of 32 no children, until now i didn’t want to let anyone to handle the remote control of my life, a lot of scammers tried soo hard but they are the one who gave up, make them as your entertainer for free. Don’t let them manipulate you, instead let them dance on your hand.

Now that she knows the truth she is so embarrassed that she allowed herself to be scammed of over $200,000 that she thinks she hates her own family. I have met people numerous times in my life that when you prove to them that something they believe for a very long time is incorrect they get so very angry. It is actually really sad. To admit trapped into such schemes is very hard and you have to admit to yourself you were gullable.
It means it's become part of their identity, and when you rock the foundations of someone's identity, they feel extremely vulnerable and extremely threatened. It takes a very self aware person, and a person very grounded and confident in their identity to accept hard truths like that, and most people barely have any idea who they are, so they cling onto small things that make them feel significant, and when you strip that away all of a sudden they feel naked, exposed, and hollow.

@@Ectopistes79 I have an alternative Theory …that it is fear. Fear of the alternative. Which in her case is being alone. To her even having a fantasy lover who is fake was better than no lover at all. I also believe this is the case for all other peoples I run into that don’t want to face being wrong about something. To them, the alternative is worse than the current belief. Take religion for example, if someone fears death and believes in religion and A heaven, and you prove to them (or try to prove to them) that there is no heaven, they will get very angry and very fearful because the alternative (nothingness) is far worse
I've been a widow for 23 years and have not been duped one time. I miss my husband of 18 years but I pulled my big girl panties up and very happy with my own accomploments and financial stable😊.

Right on! My husband passed 8 years ago (30+) years of marriage. I tried to date on a online dating service. ONCE was enough for me. I maybe lonely BUT not desperate. Lots of scammers out there be smart.

There’s no one getting any of my money. And I don’t loan money either. I worked too hard my whole lifetime to just give it away. A man who truly loves you won’t ask you for money or jeopardize your security. The takeaway on this show for me is that there’s very lonely and vulnerable people out there.

Telling that other victim "I don't want you in my life" was contextually irrational and came out of the blue. This disjointed thinking although subtle sounds familiar to me. She wasn't just being mean.
I had an experience with someone online. He didn't ask for money, but because of this experience, I don't trust people online.
