    Spend almost 8 hours on editing this video 😅. More memes and practical jokes in between the specifics of the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Is it to much or keep doing more of these videos? Let me know in the comments 😅

      Your like on my comment (1st comment on this video) hyped me up. I own a 2021 Himalayan (Rock red) it isn't perfect but has never disappointed and always proved me wrong when I doubted her capabilities. She has taken me to places I could have only dreamt of going let alone with a two wheeler. I named her RUBY.

      Please keep doing more of these,,,, on a personal level, this would seem to be like my next bike, and probably the last I will buy. At 63 years old I am currently selling my BMW R1250GS, but not ready to give it up all together, and since I live in some of the best MC/offroad terrain in Europe ive been looking into the Himalayan..... ;-) Thx for doing it....

      Hey Smokey, this video definitely shows a lot of work went into it. However, personally I love your content for the personal impressions - the silly seat-of-the-pants comments as you go along, the stories about a shop that sits on the border and has to adhere to different covid rules, messing around in the snow and mud. Personally I can read the spec numbers - don’t need them spoken to me. So if this video was a hassle to make - I’d say don’t force yourself to make another 😅. But then again if this one performs way better on your channel and it makes sense to keep going - go for it, so what you have to do.

    I found the video enjoyable to watch even though I have a Himalayan and already knew a lot of the things you shared. Eight hours of editing.... Only you can decide if it was worth it!
    As I get older -- almost 69 now -- the Himalayan was the right choice. My BMW K75 was getting heavy, and I wanted to explore more of the dirt and gravel roads here in the mountains of Central Pennsylvania. My Vespa scooters can handle those roads but man it beats them up. So the Himalayan has be a resounding YES on all counts. And of all the motorcycles I've ridden -- it is the most fun machine I've been on. Except for the Vespa scooters.
    And you're right -- you probably won't lose your license on one of these! And my Pine Green one looks great in videos!

    I was in banglore in 2016 and wanted to rent a bike to go to the hills. I took Himalayan. It was very new back then with no popularity. The general perception was it will also fail like other royal enfield experiments. They were not very succesful in bringing another good bike to the market like their original bullet
    7 years and now i see this bike being bought and reviewed internationally

    Bought one of these new in Latvia two months ago total price €4600... I think I did well, it gets boring listening to the constant shite about frames breaking.... It's old news and well sorted now. And funnily it usually comes from bmw gs owners. I remember two guys call Ewan and Charlie who had bmws that broke their frames and later gs models had recalls for dangerous front end problems, ohh yes and the klr had broken frame problems too... Need I go on 🤷‍♂️🤭 enjoyed your post and your lighthearted way of doing the review

    great choice, I have the same pine green color himalayan. There are more elefants you should adress: exchange all the relais for proper Bosch relais, The chain wears overly quick; you might want to change it for a proper one, else you have to replace the whole set later on. at 10k km and you will get damp in your speed and rpm clocks. I drilled some holes but the are other solutions on youtube.

      @LifeofSmokey  ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome review as always! Looking forward to your next installment. 🥳
    This Himalayan is the perfect first bike. Affordable, basic mechanics, and good saftey features for a beginner. A newbie can establish their road skills and *gauge* their interest in off-road stuff. After 1-2 years they can take a well-educated decision about which genre of bikes to upgrade to. Any 600cc-900cc motorcycle should be a great future upgrade! 🚀

    3:18 I am looking for my first motorcycle and I have narrowed it down to ones with lower emissions. At one point I considered an electric motorcycle like my electric moped, but they are so ugly I had to compromise.
    While I might not be able to mod a Himalayan to pollute less, I will at least try to lower the exhaust sound.

    Nice watermelon, mine is gravel gray. The tripper is a waste of money and space on the bike, I mean it had potential but it was wasted imho.

    • @LifeofSmokey

  • @Simulera
    @Simulera ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Don’t think the front ends are just breaking off all the time. Nah. And, honestly, it isn’t really a “beginner bike”. It is not a high performance bike, true enough. It is a bike that is sort of brutally functional in the real world, where real world the part is the sort of real in much of the world that includes a bit of dirt and pot holes and no so much track quality surface. Plus it is ok for beginners probably. I don’t have a Himalayan, but I think this sort of motorcycle makes a lot of sense. I have a different motorcycle, but over a lot of years I have had 30 motorcycles. And many of us have seen some fairly impressive riding on seriously durable and, um, basic 125’s in South America, Africa, India and Asia. A bike emerging from that sort of crucible is likely emphasizing practical values. 24 hp? Well my 1967 Saab had, I think, 29 hp. It will work fine will some skill, but stay off the 405.

    • @LifeofSmokey
      @LifeofSmokey  ปีที่แล้ว

      S1000R is perfectly fine after a 500. As long as you keep it on the lower rpm's it's easy to handle and ride. Once you full throttle to the rev limiter it gets pretty fast but you get used to it really fast. Don't worry about the "1000cc" part. It has more torque and is way more fun to ride at low rpm's because of the higher torque 😊

      Not everyone has 25000 laying on the shelf for a motorcycle. I like to share my opinion on the total package when it comes to these heavy adventure motorcycles. Price , how easy they are to ride offroad , reliability and so on. You can put someone on a Hayabusa as a first motorcycle , a 240hp Ducati Panigale or my own 1290 Super Adventure R. My 1290 Super Adventure R is no beginners motorcycle. It's an offroad crotch rocket and could injure someone without skills or experience really fast. A car is different in my opinion , sit down and give it some gas and you will be fine. About the planes I'm sure you can land a Cessna more easy as a Boeing 787 😅.

      I'm just sharing my opinion... my opinion is that when people say a motorcycle is a good beginner's bike it grossly under sales its capabilities.

      @@CoreyBrass I love when people share their opinion in a respectful way. No problem with that what so ever 😁. I'm just an amateur and I find it easy to ride. That's why I say it's a beginner bike. If you can shift gears you can ride every bike i guess haha. Didn't know a 747 is easier to land as a Cesna 😅🙈
