I saw this bike in the Royal Enfield cafe's showroom in Goa a couple of weeks ago, and decided then that I would get one next year when they arrive in the UK. Enjoy the rest of your stay in India, it is a fantastic country to ride bikes in.
RE really hit the mark with this. The proportions looks absolutely great and finally they understood that bikes shouldn't be short! That extra length gives the perfect lines to the bike.
You're knocking it out the park with these videos lately guys! We've followed you for many years now and the editorial content and production quality just gets better and better. We've loved the Father/Son (or Son/Father) relationship throughout this time of course and were a little sad when we thought the 'Ole Man was potentially relocating to Spain. But when he joined you in Rutland - normal service was resumed 🙂. Finally, manufacturers are waking up to realise that you should now be considered every bit as relevant as the mainstream journalists for bike-related content and you're no longer being ignored by any of them - thanks entirely to your hard work, determination and self-belief. WELL DONE fellas! Right, I'm off to watch more of your videos which have unfortunately become a small back catalogue for me due to my work commitments and other distractions 🙂
Spent a couple of months in goa in the early nineties. Sparked my interest in getting a bike licence (spent the time on a honda scooter) . Now over 30 yrs later Im going to get my first bike. The Bear is a strong contender.
I like the Bear, will have to start saving and then convince my wife that it's okay for me to have 2 road bikes, 1 sidecar, a 1971 CB500 track bike and a 1974 DT400 motocross bike.
Bloody hell! I want one of these! But I think I'll hang onto my RE Pegasus anyway! Outstanding video and appraisal by the way! Thanks! 🦁 🇬🇧 PS: Subscribed!

It was great to meet you guys at the Royal Enfield Cafe (just as you guys were leaving the place). I'm glad you're enjoying your time in Goa. Look forward to seeing your take on the classic 650.
One of the best review of Bear650 . RE should now offer the cross spokes tubeless rims for this one too , to make it more practical and hassle free to fix punctures.
I honestly can't get over just how good this thing sounds. This is exactly the kind of bike I have been looking for. Growing up our property was surrounded on 3 sides by 250k acres of national forest. There was sooo many different trails that we had to have extra gas on our 4 wheelers just to make sure we could make it back...but a bike like this would have been super enjoyable out there.
Glad you are enjoying India, been a couple of times. Did a bike trip around Rajasthan, great memories. Do again in a heartbeat. Came home and ordered a GT 650, at that stage I had to wait for the launch of the bike. Enjoy yourselves
Great review guys, I was at the nec on Monday and I thought this was the bike for me. I’ve owned two of the interceptors since they were launched because I love that engine but couldn’t get the riding position how I wanted. Sat and stood on this and it was spot on . Pity Ive just bought a guerrilla 450, I can see me trading it in. I’m in Goa on the 27 th January for two weeks so I’ll hire one just to confirm it. I have a Hunter 350 as well, as a second bike, it’s actually the second one I’ve bought because I missed the first one so much 😅 Enfield seems to get it right nearly every time since Sidarth took over. Great channel by the way 👍 You’ll love Goa. All the best Brenden.
The black classic 650 is flat out gorgeous, so much so that you just wanna have it in your living room as a sculpture and not ruin it on muddy streets. The bear is 30 percent less and 50 percent more practical.

If you have any bad experiences just remember not every Indian is indecent. Thanks for coming to India and god bless you guys.
After seeing this Darcy at the bike show this week. I would buy one, and a good price. RE has really upped the quality on these new bikes. Even I love the look of the new Hymalian
Cards on the table I am not a fan as I absolutely loved the old one and wished they put a bigger engine in that. I was just wondering what other people thought and if I was the odd one out etc. 😊
Nice review guys. I agree with everything you said. It has possibly the best sounding factory exhaust sound I have ever heard. That 350 you showed by the sea side had the front mudguard that the Bear should have also had. Your idea of a relocatable gauge would be spot on. My only other wish which might be just personal to me is I would prefer tubeless tyres for ease of fixing a puncture. I can plug a puncture and be on my way in 10 minutes with tubeless. But that Bear makes me wish I could have just one more bike. It looks and sounds great.
I've been thinking for years that Royal Enfield should be my brand (as opposed to Horrible Davidson!) because their bikes aren't just the prettiest, most romantic and lovable ones out there today, but the whole brand vibe is ... NICE! YES! What a concept for a motorcycle brand !!! Not just dry and sad machismo obsessed with CCs and HP and speed. Ok that's 1am enthusiasm fer ya! RE you cornered me with this one. I've got to have one and I'm pretty sure it will compare nicely to my beloved scramblerized 883C. Thank you for a great video guys.
You lucky, lucky things. Went for a short ride on Thursday, it was 1 degree c, there was ice on the road under the trees and my fingers were numb. Nice to see you guys soaking up the sunshine. The Bear looks really good and at that price could be well worth considering for a second bike.
Holy Cow (pun intended), that's not only the most beautiful RE i've ever seen, it's one of the most beautiful bikes i've ever seen! Would i chose this over the 650 Classic? I think i'll wait for that rview first.
Lots of efforts into those videos, the camera, the angle, the shots, just amazing really! I keep watching your T100 video at least once a day, the scenery the bike the whole video not a single boring second. (Also I am about to buy one) But now this bike got me triggered little bit, cheaper, easier on the pocket maybe. BUt the shots are just WOW ! THANK YOU!
I was afraid a big ape on a bear wouldn’t look pretty, but the old man doesn’t appear to dwarf the bike at all. I think I would be comfortable on this.
Wow both, what a fantastic video, you have both come a long way since I first started watching you over the last few years. If it were me between the RE Bear 650 and the RE Classic 650 I would have the RE Bear 650. Please keep these professionally produced videos coming. PS: I also look forward to when you both do your next Darcy & Dad video chats/questions and answers.😃
TEC is already making a 2 into 1 with no cat for the 650. It should increase torque even a little more, and, along with an air box/filter upgrade, should give a couple more horsepower. I'll let you know how it turns out! This Bear is the 650 I was hoping RE would make!
Totally agree on the old man's point about "off-road" - as long as you aren't slamming over logs and rocks you don't need massive amounts of suspension travel and ground clearance, just a little bit extra and some chunk to your tyres. If you try and build a log smasher of a bike that's 650cc+ you end up with a top heavy Tenere 700 type thing.
As someone who has just started doing videos when I am out and about on my Harley Davidson street or vfr800, you have given me great hope that I can consistently get better at it. The leap in quality you have recently taken is astounding. Hope for us all that with commitment, anything can happen. Amazing
Another great video, they keep getting better and better. As a Triumph Fanboi I have to say RE is knocking it out of the park these days. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip.
I cannot wait for the spring to come and this bike to become available at local dealers. They did many improvements - I hope some of them will make it to other 650 models. I am still deciding though, which one sounds better - Bear or Interceptor.
As for the classic 350 going off road, I can confirm this is a definite yes. I discovered once getting lost up the Long Mynd in Shropshire I found my self on mud, shale, travel tracks with a couple of Fords, one quite deep water over foot pegs and feet lol. No trouble for my 350.
Great vidéo! And SUPER great 411 T-shirt 😉 Seem you ride perfectly well in India 👏🏼👏🏼 You added all the informations I wanted to hear from you about the Bear !
This is the bike we've been waiting for. My only complaint - extra cost option for a bash guard, on a scrambler? I think what I'd really like is a "scramblerised" Classic in a Signals paint scheme.
Great video as usual.... no ...actually better than usual. Looking forward to seeing more of your tour of South India.. Seen any elephants on the road yet? PS...I have to agree! This is the best content you've produced. Onward and upward!
I just found out that BSA officially launched a 650cc scrambler 3 days ago. The model name is B65. Plenty of videos of the launch event in Birmingham here on youtube. I really love the yellow color option and will wait for it to be launched in India, definitely far better than the Bear. A single cylinder thumper, has riding modes, better electronics, better styling, better build quality, better brakes (Bembros vs Bybres), better tires (Pirelli Scorpions vs noname MRFs), better in every sense.
Wow, congratulations on this coup. You must be the 1st to actually review the Bear on the road/dirt track from a Brit perspective . Brilliant 👏 👏 👏 👏 plus with the 650 clasic perfect 👌 all in situ of the maker.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Bought my hunter about 2 years back based on your review and it has never failed to surprise me every time I ride. Thank you for your no filter reviews. Loved this machine. Need to get into saving mode now 😅
Great vid guys and glad to see you are living the dream! The bike is outstanding. Very Triumph Scrambler 1200xc but in a more all round bike package and half the price! Bloody love it!
This is the second video about the RE bear 650. And I really think it's a fantastic new bike from RE. Good comments. Thank You for making this review. I like Your style of presenting and the view of "normal" bike using guys liko You. If it arrives in my counrty ... I will go to a dealership an have s test ride. I love it.
Dam, you boys have done it again. Best review on the bear so far. After watching your classic 350 review, I bought one so looks like the bear may end up in my arsenal. Cheers
In Australia we only have the small number plate ( unlike the horrible massive one you have to have in UK ) we also don’t have a front one . Great review, I currently own a Moto Guzzi V85tt and a Honda CRF 300 Rally . I disagree on that suspension travel ( as it’s not just for jumps ) I used to ride motorcross , ADV , etc , etc , from bikes I have owned and it’s MANY , 170mm is a BASE starting for off road without bottoming out , on pot holes , wash outs , ruts , ( and this isn’t jumping ) I have upgraded suspension on bikes with 150mm of travel - which is slot of Scramblers and Sports tourers BUT at the end of the day 150mm is still 150mm , the VStrom is borderline on 160mm. And the Bear is 115mm rear and 130mm front is that correct ? , BUT I do love the look and would use it as a road touring bike and use the 450 Himalayan as an ADV off road bike . You can take ANY bike off road BUT how will it be after many miles on dirt . Also do you know the range ? Fuel ⛽️. But a fantastic review even though I don’t agree with all your assessments. Regards Paul
Nice vid, and I'm quite pleased with the bike. The one thing that's a bit of a downer is the central gauge. That digital crap ruins the otherwise lovely retro look of the bike. Srsly, would it KILL them to just fit an old-fashioned analog speedo/tachometer? They managed on the Classic, why not on the Bear?
Best Royal Enfield yet! Very eminiscent of the old Triumph Trophy bikes. I think it could do with a small rack on the back or even a small rack on the tank like the old Triumphs. Great video, very envious of the location as it's currently snowing with storm Bert in the UK.
Fantastic presentation of a great RE ridden through a lovely scenery 👍 At last a mudguard making the Ol'Man happy, I suppose enjoy your time in India, lads!
Not really interested in scramblers, but that looks great and more of an everything-bike. I agree about the off-centre speedo and forks, but they aren't too offensive I guess. Well done RE (again). I just bought a Bullet 350 so I'm Royal Enfield biased now! Lovely to see you in India. Looking forward to more.
Great video guys. Really excited about your India trip. Yeah, the Bear looks great, just seen it at Motorcycle Live and it's a beauty. The last clip of Darcy riding really captured the engine sound and it's fabulous. Looking forward to seeing you both on Classic 350s. I've mentioned this before but it's down to the Ol man and Dobsie that I bought mine so can't wait to see you guys riding them. Enjoy your trip.
This is one of the most honest review on Royal Enfield bear 650. I currently own an metero 350 , planning to upgrade to this in the near future . Nice video
Great review, guys. In total agreement with your assessment. RE has done it again and produced another winner. I would buy without hesitation. My only change would be the gold forks which I don’t like on any bike. But it wouldn’t be a deal breaker. Great looking bike at the right price. Cheers and ride safe, Dan ✌️🏍🇨🇦
My Interceptor turns in too quick for me. This Bear looks great and cant wait to ride one, but you guys always get it right, so its gonna be good. Which one?, er, both please!
Great review, guys. I have an interceptor at the moment and I think this bike hits the sweet spot. I love the bear with the turquoise frame and white tank. I think it would be stunning with polished side covers. Agree that it will be interesting to see what exhaust options come out for it.
If I didn't already have a Triumph 400x Scrambler, I'd have a Bear 650, the weight is the issue for me... 216kg as opposed to 179kg and longer travel suspension on the Scrambler 400... the Bear 650 looks brilliant though... great vid and good luck with the trip lads... ride safe...👍😎
You guys look super cool 😎 just bimbling around India on the 650 Bear! You must be having the time of your life out there! Great video! More content like this please! 🙏
Great video guys, as a 6ft tall guy this is the first bike in years I would buy tomorrow and likely will buy in the new year. The Triumph 400 x appeals but doesn’t quite have enough umph for the journeys I plan to do. 👍
Best motorcycle channel on TH-cam. Thank you chaps for many hours of quality entertainment. The Bear is a handsome machine but i am particularly looking forward to your coverage of the Classic 650.
I am definitely interested in the Bear and am keen to try it. Not that keen on the Classic 650 and wouldn't be happy taking the left side exhaust off when I needed to clean the chain, as this seems to be the case?
I had a good sit on one of these at Motorcycle Live and agree the seating position with the pegs and handlebars is perfect. Extremely comfortable, it just feels right. The quality looks great and the design is very good, it looks exactly like you'd expect a scrambler to look. I tried the BSA scrambler and it felt cramped in comparison even though it looks very similar. There's a very good chance I'll be ordering one of these, just a few test rides between then and now but it's on a a very small short list. Overall a very desirable bike.
Royal Enfield simply understand listen their customers somehow. They release a model, listen around what the community says about it and then release a new version to fit it it seems. The Bear would probably have been the "correct" bike for me, judging from my riding patterns with a lot of dirt roads and trails. However, I've been in love with my Classic 350 ever since I bought it and I've been riding it basically anywhere the ground has been solid enough to carry it, so I've pre-ordered a Classic 650 as a complement bike, to be able to handle longer rides as well. It may not be meant for it, but I'm gonna make it into my "go anywhere, do anything" bike. It's heavy, I know. But to me, it's worth it for the absence of plastic. I was 100% certain I had subscribed already, but TH-cam being TH-cam, I wasn't at this point. Re-subbing though. Love the sound of a travel through India on the Classic 350. Cheers!
Love this bike. Really enjoyed this review. Glad that you clarified you don't need the big suspension for offroading (unless you are jumping). Amazing scenery.
Really curious what the new trend is with mounting single round clocks to an offset. Triumph also is doing the same with the new speed twin. Are they thinking everyone is left eye dominate? It baffles me and completely turns me off as I hate things off center. It's almost like all of the manufacturers listen to the same designer or test riders who said they prefer off set when in reality not many do.
Impressed that the review was done in India. From what I've seen you need tk be real rider to negotiate the roads of India. India is on my bucket list with some fabulous places to ride if you have the courage and skill.
Really appreciate all the efforts you’ve been putting on your videos lately including the Hindi version. Really liked it!!!!…. And obviously welcome to India..
I must admit the Bear 650 looks really good and I look forward to taking one for a test ride in the near future, the only thing I am not keen is the exhaust which I would have to change (it's too low down) as for the digital instrument console, I'm an analogue fan myself but as far as digital screens go the one on the Bear looks really good however the fact it's off centre is really quite irritating (maybe I'm OCD) other than those two minor points I think the 650 Bear is a winner.

RE really hit the mark with this. The proportions looks absolutely great and finally they understood that bikes shouldn't be short! That extra length gives the perfect lines to the bike.

Better price 😂😂
Wow, congratulations on this coup. You must be the 1st to actually review the Bear on the road/dirt track from a Brit perspective .
Brilliant 👏 👏 👏 👏 plus with the 650 clasic perfect 👌 all in situ of the maker.
Thank you 😊 it has been an absolutely awesome experience 👍🏼
Welcome to India!
Have been following you both for a long time. Great job.
@@FaizAnwer-o1q hi 👋
@@MrDarcy-OlMan
Bought my hunter about 2 years back based on your review and it has never failed to surprise me every time I ride.
Thank you for your no filter reviews.
Loved this machine.
Need to get into saving mode now 😅
@@FaizAnwer-o1q great to hear 👍🏼
Great vid guys and glad to see you are living the dream! The bike is outstanding. Very Triumph Scrambler 1200xc but in a more all round bike package and half the price! Bloody love it!
I'll visit my dealer tomorrow. I love the Shotgun but the Bear is even better, especially for my 6"5'. Cool review, your vid is absolutely stunning,.
I love it.
Been waiting for this one, great job guys, stay safe and have fun! What a tremendous bike, I love it! 👏👍😀🏍
Regards
Paul
Nice vid, and I'm quite pleased with the bike. The one thing that's a bit of a downer is the central gauge. That digital crap ruins the otherwise lovely retro look of the bike. Srsly, would it KILL them to just fit an old-fashioned analog speedo/tachometer? They managed on the Classic, why not on the Bear?
Lovely. RE are building a 650 for everyone with the latest range of bikes and this is a belter. Great review.
Love the colorway and the sound!
Great to see you guys having fun in Goa. Welcome to India !
Best Royal Enfield yet! Very eminiscent of the old Triumph Trophy bikes. I think it could do with a small rack on the back or even a small rack on the tank like the old Triumphs. Great video, very envious of the location as it's currently snowing with storm Bert in the UK.
Fantastic presentation of a great RE ridden through a lovely scenery 👍
At last a mudguard making the Ol'Man happy, I suppose enjoy your time in India, lads!
Thank you 😊
Good on you Darcy for showing your preference for an effective front mudguard, bucking the trend for fashionable impractical ones.
Thank you 😊
This is one of the most honest review on Royal Enfield bear 650.
I currently own an metero 350 , planning to upgrade to this in the near future .
Nice video
Meteor Fireball Yellow here. Love it to bits. I couldn't bring myself to sell it. To many happy memories
Thanks to your review… this bike now sits on top of my wish list!
Great work as always guys.
Awesome 👍🏼
Great video as usual guys 👊🏼 this bike is just stunning, they have absolutely nailed it 😎
Fantastic bike, fantastic video. You chose the perfect location. Great job, mates!
Pleased you enjoyed it 👍🏼
Mr Darcy and the Ol' man uploads a video from India and Royal Enfield unveils the new Scram 440. Today was a good day.
Another great video guys. Can you talk about the accessories? I just placed my order for the same colour. No delivery date yet for Australia.
Great review, guys. I have an interceptor at the moment and I think this bike hits the sweet spot. I love the bear with the turquoise frame and white tank. I think it would be stunning with polished side covers. Agree that it will be interesting to see what exhaust options come out for it.
Thanks guys. RE rider in Thailand here. Looking forward to your future adventures 😊
Loved it riding a classic 350 halcyon green on backroads in south India - hugely recommended!
You guys look super cool 😎 just bimbling around India on the 650 Bear! You must be having the time of your life out there! Great video! More content like this please! 🙏
Yes we are having an awesome time 👍🏼
Just have a blast here and you are now instilled with something memorable for life
Behind this beautiful Greenery there he is. Wow finally some colours on your videos. Thank you.
Our pleasure, thank you 😊
The 'Bear' looks great... Will be very interesting to see how the 650 BSA scrambler compares to it ? one for a future comparison ?
I am definitely interested in the Bear and am keen to try it. Not that keen on the Classic 650 and wouldn't be happy taking the left side exhaust off when I needed to clean the chain, as this seems to be the case?
Glad to see you two are having fun while reviewing, the review was very crisp and to the point and I enjoyed every minute of it. :))
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏼
Thanks
@@brendenroantree1138 thank you very much 👍🏼
I had a good sit on one of these at Motorcycle Live and agree the seating position with the pegs and handlebars is perfect.
Cheers!
Awesome welcome 😊
Love this bike. Really enjoyed this review. Glad that you clarified you don't need the big suspension for offroading (unless you are jumping). Amazing scenery.
Really curious what the new trend is with mounting single round clocks to an offset. Triumph also is doing the same with the new speed twin. Are they thinking everyone is left eye dominate? It baffles me and completely turns me off as I hate things off center. It's almost like all of the manufacturers listen to the same designer or test riders who said they prefer off set when in reality not many do.
Yes it's very odd, and we get endless comments from people wanting it centred, and analogue too!
Cool Video. i also really liked this one agree with you but i have a doubt about those chunky side indicators, whats your opinion on those..?
Spot on! The Bear 650 looks perfect for India. Excited for more updates!.. Welcome to India 🇮🇳 ,Sir 🎉
I got mine a week ago. Weather hasn’t been great but I’ve loved riding it!
Awesome 👍🏼
Impressed that the review was done in India. From what I've seen you need tk be real rider to negotiate the roads of India. India is on my bucket list with some fabulous places to ride if you have the courage and skill.
Love the sound of the engine exhaust at the end 👍
Absolutely beautiful motorcycle and your review. I am really looking forward to testride this bike.
Great overview and all round video. Enjoyed it!
As lovely as your usual locations are, (Liddington for example), _THIS_ is the place to first ride the Bear! Great review of a great bike.
Really appreciate all the efforts you’ve been putting on your videos lately including the Hindi version. Really liked it!!!!…. And obviously welcome to India..
Thank you, really pleased to hear that 👍🏼
I must admit the Bear 650 looks really good and I look forward to taking one for a test ride in the near future, the only thing I am not keen is the exhaust which I would have to change (it's too low down) as for the digital instrument console, I'm an analogue fan myself but as far as digital screens go the one on the Bear looks really good however the fact it's off centre is really quite irritating (maybe I'm OCD) other than those two minor points I think the 650 Bear is a winner.
Love you guys and the content! Cheers from Portland, OR.
Whatever you did with the flow of editing in this video works great! Awesome to see you experimenting with in.
Glad to hear it!
