Funny that regarding your height, as the Himalayan has one of the best seat to peg distance I’ve come across. A lot of people have the seat reupholstered to raise seat even more. It has great drop on your hips compared all other bikes I’ve sat on, and I’ve owned a lot of bikes. I’m around your height.

Interesting. I’m 6’3” 220lbs and just bought a Scram 411 today after a long test drive. The scram seat is 5mm shorter than the Himalayan too. It’s light years more comfortable for me then the Honda 300L Rally and didn’t feel like a tip over machine like the KLR does in slow turn’s especially off road. I think there is a build video from Rocky Mountain ATV where a guy about our size and a lot heavier than me made one fit him with just a few mods. I was thinking I would have to lower the foot pegs but after today don’t think I need to but only time will find out.
as a newbie to the himalayan please could you run through your kit list especially tools for repair and maintenance? what do you HAVE to take on the road. Thanks in advance, perfect video, mix of info and idiocy ;) 😂
Would you go for the new 450? I'm looking at it and the 411. The biggest selling point for me, they relocated the air filter to the highest point. The 411 is a few grand cheaper, and looks better imo.

Stock wheels currently. Looking to upgrade to aluminum this winter for the same reason.
If I wasn’t 6’3” the Himalayan was in my top 3 bikes I wanted to purchase last year as my first bike. Amazing bike and jealous of you shorter riders who can ride it comfortably. However it’s just too short and uncomfortable for us trolls.
That's fair enough. Same reason I don't want to pursue some other really rad adv bikes. Too damn tall for me hahaha
@@jonathan-th2bg another tall troll here. It's actually not that bad, I tried seating on one at a dealership and it was okey, I thought it was gonna be way more uncomfortable .
I’m gonna need to know more about those crash bar bags my guy.
Sedici dry bags from cycle gear
You’re a gentleman and a scholar. Congrats on having the most legit Himalayan video on the entire internet, btw.
Great video and bike 👍
Is Pine Green a decent color? just asking because I can get a 1k off that versus Matt black or other colors. thanks!
Follow your heart. Don't let price decide!
appreciate it, thank you!@@80VDualSport
Hi! What sprocket did you changed on the bike? Front or back? And of how many teeth?
My daily driver sprocket is a 14t sprocket up front. Gets a little buzzy on the highway but makes it a Sherman tank offroad
@@80VDualSport Thanks for the answer!
Would you go for the new 450?
I'm looking at it and the 411. The biggest selling point for me, they relocated the air filter to the highest point. The 411 is a few grand cheaper, and looks better imo.
I can't say yet lol. Waiting for a demo day. The stats on paper are tempting
@@80VDualSport you should try making a few more vids like the one where you're talking to your friend riding off road. There's another similar video like it online where two guy's got lost in some dense stuff. One had a Himalayan 411, one had a KLR650 and the Himalayan was clearly the better of the two. They had so many drops, clutches were burning up.
I'll see if I can find the title
@@80VDualSport "Himalayan & KLR 650 What Not To Do" it's 5yrs old but a good video.
They are on a major sale right now end of model. Can get the Scram for 3,000 + fees 🤯

good review
Which year himalayan?

What exhaust do you have on you
Himalayan?
Cheap amaon can
I love mine.
What did he lose at 5:42?
A kawaii cat eat
I had a huge issue with their customer service. I waited 3 months to get a replacement part.
Was it straight from RE or were you dealing with a dealership?
@@80VDualSport dealership ordered the part from RE
Just out of curiosity, what did you order? And was it a warranty item?
I'm so sad they are axing this version for the new 450.
Agreed but it had a good run
@@80VDualSport I'm mostly sad because I really want one but I'm away from home for 2 years. Maybe I'll be lucky and find a low mileage one when back. Desperate to ride one from Ushuaia to Alaska.
Royal Enfield is the only motorcycle company that makes me wish I was a wealthy man so I can have one of every bike they make. But the mixed blessing is, I literally cannot decide which one to buy, and it's both frustrating and exhilarating. They don't make a single bike I would pass on.
Absolutely agree. Really into the new Bear 650 that just came out.
The tires you recommended, do they make a lot noise on the pavement?
I've noticed the more worn they get they start to. I'm also deaf as a post hahahaha
What seat are you running?
Still running the stock seat in fear of ruining a nice one with the heavy offroad riding. Been looking at getting some sheep skin fitted.
Good motor bike
Bro which country , where do you live
United States!
@@80VDualSport where in usa bro
We are based out of Kentucky
@@80VDualSport great 👍 man thanks for the reply ...
arent the 24 horse power just too little? im considring it but it sounds too low.
can i cruise with it on the highway when im not having fun? because thats what it will do most of the time
I'll be honest. It's not a superstar on the highway. Especially mine being that it's set up for offroad. State roads are mint for a himalayan.
I had one. Very cool concept but just ridiculously slow. A scooter has more quickness.
Yeah if you are looking for quick, not the bike for you hahahahhaha
@@80VDualSport lol. Most definitely not. I had not realized just how slow it was when I bought. It reminded me of my first little mini bike 50 years ago with a lawnmower engine. You turn the throttle, and it takes a little time to even start moving.
What fell off your helmet when you hit that branch? Lol
My big orange cat eats get caught all the time and I designed them to be break away for safety
U r so lucky u can modify your bike in your country .
In India we can't even change the exhaust 🤒
Oh wow
@@80VDualSport it's illegal
I don’t understand what’s the point to make your bike louder
Not to make it louder but to let the exhaust hard flow easier
At the end you gain 0,5 hp and a lot of extra noise.
People like its becuase it's cheap. Can you really compare it with a African twin or other ADV's in pure performance ?? Nahh
Get a load of this guy!
Hahaha
LOL
Lost your ear at 5:40 :(
Bonus points for noticing senpai
Just put a deposit down on a red one!
I hope you are as pleased with yours!
@@80VDualSport I reckon I will be. I want to plod along, take in the scenery and see what adv riding is all about.
Big festival coming in Uk so should learn loads. (Demos etc, 3 mile track plus learners area).
