I have watched several hundred yacht tours in the last two years. Mostly displacement or semi displacement trawler style anywhere from 30 foot to 60 foot and even some super yachts just for fun. I keep coming back to this N41 as the one for me. I do believe that bought new this little trawler yacht would be the least expensive to maintain and operate. It has the ability to cross an ocean and explore canals and rivers with low underpasses. It’s the versatility that I love so much. It’s only real draw back is the one head, but then I need to remember that I grew up in a household with two parents and four siblings with one bathroom! I want to travel the globe using waterways and I am NOT in a hurry. This little N41 is just the ticket to make it happen.
I like the idea of One head because il give me least problema ti think of, least conduct , etc... In the configuration for a family of four would be not so good but Imagine a couple cruising with occasional guests... 😅
But the thing that got me was the service room with full space for food reservoir and huge freezer. 🤩 It give ti me a feels of the most affordable survival boat 😂😂 for escaping in some Pacific atoll if things go down in the world 🤣

Only thing which scared me a bit, was the open "stairwell" in the inline galley, in a boat short enough to pitch a bit... I'm guessing/hoping a divider of sorts could be placed there. But twins; designing the boat to work with engines small enough to be simple; the low airdraft; and easy access to everything (although a watertight door to the stabie fin compartment may have been worth it if you hit a "whale" out in the open...). Also, the wide side decks. Even if that comes at the expense of an "open, airy" interior and thrown-around-in-a-blow ( :) ) room. Ditto a single cabin option. They're obviously targeting this boat to people intent on using it the way most long range cruisers do: As a long term home for two (2) people. And really good tankage. Not just the miminal needed to make the "longest passage" on a "standard" circumnavigation itinerary. But indeed some capacity to improvise, explore and not suffer range anxiety. Heck, I'm not sure, but it may just be light enough to be able to make use of a series drogue, for real belt and suspender types. If so, it's about the only true production "passagemaker" which can. Wouldn't want to bring a drogue for anything this big back on board, but it does beat the alternative should it come down to it. Bigger boats are simply way too big ad heavy, and are stuck relying on their own broach resistance should things go really sideways.... All in all, I can't really think of much I would change. Aside from the price, obviously, since all boats are costly, and really well engineered, built and specced ones are even more so. But for what you get, this does not at all look to be a bad deal. I bet covid and social distancing have pushed order books long, hence delivery dates far out, though.... One important thing you do get, by having a boat this "small" despite being "capable", is freedom from having to maintain anything bigger and more complicated all the darned time. It's nice to be on a boat with a full gym, room for toys, an outside bridge, and especially a little dirtbike to crane ashore and get around on. But then it's also nice to have a crew maintaining it all and keeping it clean out in the harsh marine environment. Whereas if I have to do that myself, especially for long cruises and passages, I don't really want much more than I need. And few strictly "need" more boat than this to get wherever they're planning to go. I'd rather travel in this, and put the "savings" over not going bigger into renting a hotel suite somewhere, should I suffer from excessive cabin fewer after a long time on board. For now, bopping around the Baleares is about all I have the time and inclination to do on a boat. Rendering any Nordhavn a bit overkill. As well as a bit slow, and lacking in party space for Ibiza. But for more "serious" boating, at an at least somewhat realistic price and level of complexity, this is now a new, clear numero uno on my personal list of powerboats to keep an eye on. Enough so that it's made a Leishman fan out of me. Never thought guys who are now successfully selling boats 20+ times the size and price of this to the rich and famous, would put so obviously much thought and resources into something this practical for more regular boaters.
I was once in love with Nordhavn...until I read accounts from owners who complained of wave slap on the bow. The bow is quite vertical and the incessant pounding of waves onto the bow gives the boats a shuddering feel. The semi displacement hull also isn't conducive to ocean crossing due to allowing the boat to be shifted and moved by following waves that come upon the stern. Semi displacement speeds do however allow the vessel to ramp up in speed to out run an up-coming weather system and return to port before the swell becomes uncomfortable. But for myself I want a flybridge, a hull that delivers stability even in rough seas...I want comfort and economy...and complete reliability.
This has got to be my favorite yacht tour you've done yet. What a brilliantly designed boat. I'd much more prefer this as a live aboard boat then the ultra luxurious things out there. Feels like an achievable goal for fulfilling your dreams of traveling the world in your own boat. Many of the other vessels seem like play things for the super rich.
Proper breakfast TV viewing this morning! Well done Nick! I've shot some 40 foot trawlers recently on my channel and can't wait to get my hands on a Nordhavn to do a comparison. Keep up the great work!
What a classic Nordhavn, I would love to cruise the world with this! I can’t believe the engineering space on a 41 foot boat it’s amazing. Brilliant Nick!
I have always been a big fan of Nordhavn’s and have been so looking forward to seeing the new model, boy I have not been disappointed, this boat is just perfect in every way, my absolute dream boat. Thank you so much for arranging this tour Nick . Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant .
Really nice looking boat, I can imagine spending serious time on that. I was surprised it didn't have an aft cabin considering the space that is available back there, but I guess it would push the deck height up too much on a 41 foot boat. I wondered for a minute if it was going to be some sort of diesel electric system with the engines so far forward! I often wonder if for displacement hulls a big diesel generator at optimum efficiency running electric motors would be an efficient way of doing things.
Practical , solidly built, quality, long distance cruising , nothing likely to go wrong ,take anyway, no showy when entering harbour ......sexy it isn’t , but I still want one 😄for all the reasons I’ve just mentioned ....👍good job Nick
The build quality of these boats is there for all to see -no squeaky chipboard floors here! Not the best looking boat around, but I would take one of these any day (if I had the money!). The ability to just sail off into the sunset and not worry about something breaking down, the long range capability, the comfort, the chance just watch the miles go by at 6 knots and not worry about filling up in another 200 miles....... This could be a best seller!
I'd like to add ,the rear of the boat with the railings is perfect for fishing (personally i'd insist on holster type gear attached to the railings for safety sake). Under boats like this , lies a huge larder if you know to to catch , despatch and cook.
@@PHILCHUDS Yep, some additions for sea fishing would be a must. spent 12 months on Ascension Island, so catching, gutting and cooking fresh tuna, wahoo, dorado etc.... were weekly events!
Nick left the “go out and stay out” right to the end, had me worried there for a bit. I will never be able to afford one of these, even if I could, I doubt I’d be able to drive it, let alone figure out the technical stuff, but that doesn’t stop me loving these videos.
My dream is to someday be the Extremely Proud Owner of a Nord. As far as I'm concerned they're the best engineered and built boats a civilian can own. Everything Nordhavn does is above and beyond even unto a commercial level and beyond. Thanks for the great tour of an amazing vessel...
Finally, a yacht I can run myself, with transatlantic range, so I can leave town whenever I've overstayed my welcome and relocate thousands of miles away.
I love Nordhavn boats. They look rugged and like a boats inside and out, with range and open water capability. I always appreciate the Nordhavn single engine design with the small limp home backup engine design. This one of course has twin engines, but two smaller engines.
I've watched this video so many times I wished that I could give it more than my original "thumbs up". Would love to see a Sea Trials type of video on the 41 if you can manage it Nick.
Great little boat. Love how they upgraded it. Stableizers and the simple non complex engines. Very easy to maintain and trouble shoot. Plus the drop down mast. I expect that this revised model will be a success there and in the U.S. , along everywhere else.
Nordhavn never fail to impress, but I think they have really outdone themselves with this N41. An incredible amount of boat there for the size, with the only real sacrifice being that of speed. Sure, the hatch to the utility area seemed like it might be a bit of a pain and a squeeze every time you want to access the larger freezer, or carry some laundry up or down, but that's expected really on any boat under 50'. Heck, most boats under 60' don't even have that much freezer capacity at all (though I do acknowledge many have several times the speed so you'd not need to spend as long between ports either). Amazing little vessel.
Fantastic indeed! I'm about $700k shy of being able to buy one, but this is exactly what I would want. I don't need speed - I just want to cross the Atlantic or go to the Caribbean. The access to that utility room was not designed with American buyers in mind... Great Baby Nordhavn, great tour. Thank you Nick for showing my favorite kind of boat!
I have been waiting for a proper video tour of these . Thanks Nick!! Here's hoping you can do a sea trial of one of these. I would love to know what it's like underway. Comfort and noise levels, etc.
Thanks Nick! That is an amazing boat for only being 41 ft. I didn't expect that amount of space in places like the engine room or for it to have a utility room etc...Nordhavn boats definitely have some of the best layouts and even though this is their smallest it isn't lacking in features or serious ocean going capability. That's a lot of boat for the money IMO.
When I first saw it I decided, well it's not the best looking "Wow factor" boat in the marina... BUT, actually seeing what it can do and the proper engineeering plus redundancy built in, it is the boat I'd seriously think about selling my house and cars for and live a life on the waves! Absolutely Brilliant boat!!
Nick has this special way of presenting the boats that everytime I watch his video I would want to purchase the boat,,, Amazing,,, He knows how to chose his words,,, Great job on a really beautiful little gem,,, VCery well priced for what it offers,,, Thanks,,,
Now this is my type of boat.. I love the schematics of the wiring and pluming.. excellent! THANK YOU for covering the bridge as well as you did.. to me that is one of the most important parts of the boat and a make or break area as far as buying a boat is concerned.. Dang a utility room.. this truly is my kind of boat!!! I really like this one Nick.. Thanks..
I think I agree with you but its horses-for-courses.... for a couple sans kids or regular stay over guests this is an awesomely capable bit of kit for spending months going anywhere.... for me, with a wife and two kids, I'm looking more at the Selenes, Flemings, Nordhavn 50+, heck even the Adagio's... all in the 50ft+ category mainly for the 3 berths and the Portuguese bridge.... (I've ruled out Traders, not seaworthy enough from what I've read)
Hey Nick. I am from the Uk and live 5 minutes from Dana point Marina in California the Home of Nordhavn. I saw the first 2 N41 on the dock over a year ago as i was pulling out of the Harbor. They where stunning looking as i was not even sure most people knew that they had Launched this New addition. If i was not going to buy a sailboat this would be my choice for sure. Video is great. Cheers mate.
So well thought out , a lot of clever stuff going on ,,, not sure about the eye on the bow at waterline , but the bunks and engine room make up for it.
After watching your channel for two years, Nordhavn is by far my favourite boat. This one is fantastic, goes anywhere and can be sailed solo. Perfect. But no water maker?
Beautiful boat. reminds of the Nord Haven 62 I ran in the South China Sea. These boats a masterfully built with safety in mind to which the vessel’s scantlings included is a big plus for those who ply the seven seas. Your tour was well done.
Great Vlog 👍and really nice boat! Has that "Old School" look and design without feeling like a fishing trawler. I would be tempted to do a wooden slat vinyl wrap on it and make people have to guess if it's a brand new one or some classic wood 🪵boat from days gone by! I like the way the lesser used things like the washer/dryer and extra freezer room are put down below and not using space up top where you would be keeping things used on a more day to day basis!
Nick steps foot on a yacht that doesn't reach 30+ knots - the state of the UK yacht market, I presume. Everyone in a hurry to get back to their overnight berths. Always great reviews.
It would make a mighty fine holiday/live aboard yacht for a couple in the single berth setup or a holiday yacht for a small family, although personally I would step up to the N475 if you never intend on taking it inland. The extra space on the N475 really makes a massive difference.
Ok for those who aren't up on their English lingo. A "hob" was a iron bar that was used to hang a Dutch oven or pot on that would swing over the fire in a fireplace. Our wonderful English brethren have adapted this to refer to a stovetop. As usual once I hear one of these phrases I tend to unconsciously use it in everyday conversations. I'm still working on the phrase "Bang on".
I'm a real fan of Nordhavn's and despite its relatively diminutive size, it is still has the essence of the type. The way they have used the space, is really, really clever. I absolutely love it. Thanks, Nick.

I'm sold. The first video I watched on this channel was a Nordhavn. I love them.
“Long-distance fully autonomous cruising.” Love it.
Yup... I’ve seen every video since the beginning, and this is the one. What an incredible piece of kit.
FINALLY!!! I have been waiting for this episode for over a year!
Hope it was worth the wait!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Stunning. What a fantastic boat to spend the rest of your days cruising the canals and rivers of Europe.
Two success stories. Old school Nordhavn & new boy Aquaholic. Excellent Nick.
Chain as a center of gravity issue. Never thought of that! Glad they did!
Great value for an owner operator. Has clever designs and the fact that you have a utility room is amazing.
Practical , solidly built, quality, long distance cruising , nothing likely to go wrong ,take anyway, no showy when entering harbour ......sexy it isn’t , but I still want one 😄for all the reasons I’ve just mentioned ....👍good job Nick
Just the perfect family long distance cruiser / explorer, so many practical aspects in an easily handled package. Amazing!!
Oh that I was 35 years younger and considerably more financial, this is for me. Thanks Nick
So glad I watched this review Nick. Amazing boat! The Ultimate mini ship. The feeling of seaworthy takes on a new level here.
Wow, what a boat! I love everything about it! It would be perfect in the Great Lakes and the intercoastal waterway.
_Classic Nordhavn_ .. * happy boat sounds *
Nordhavn is such a well constructed yacht. Also they are very particular on comfort and safety. A true master yacht.
Finally, a yacht I can run myself, with transatlantic range, so I can leave town whenever I've overstayed my welcome and relocate thousands of miles away.
Now that's a real proper boat, not some fancy yacht. The engineering that's gone into this is amazing! Thank you Nick and Jack le Sac for the tour :)
Very nice boat and video as usual. I like that the engine hatch is in the main enclosed area so "in the dry"
This is 100% my favourite brand of boat! This is stunning 😻
One of the best boats I've seen, it has so many features that even bigger boats dont have.
I have been waiting for a proper video tour of these . Thanks Nick!! Here's hoping you can do a sea trial of one of these. I would love to know what it's like underway. Comfort and noise levels, etc.
It may be the smallest in the range but it's my favourite...so well designed and built, loved the tour.
Another exclusive here on Aquaholic! Must be one of the fastest growing nautical channels on TH-cam. Congrats Nick!
Thanks!
When you said there was another fridge/freezer my first though was where but when you showed the utility room I was impressed with the little norhavn
Dammit, nearly a full house on aquaholic bingo. Nothing was getattable. Superb little ship though. I like, a lot !! Xxxxxx
Awesome!😁😁
Nordhavn’s have become my favorite just from watching your videos Nick. Love this boat. Great video as always!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nick has this special way of presenting the boats that everytime I watch his video I would want to purchase the boat,,, Amazing,,, He knows how to chose his words,,, Great job on a really beautiful little gem,,, VCery well priced for what it offers,,, Thanks,,,
Glad you like them!
Pretty cool that it was docked right next to Powerplay (MOD70) which just set a Fastnet record!
This is the one. Stunning and supremely capable. Perfect.
Thanks..
Love this boat. Love Nordhavn. Surprised it doesn't have a water maker for long distance cruising.
I thought the same. I'm sure it could be fitted out with one.
love Nordhavn ...This is the third time I see this video. I was not subscribed before. but your efforts made me do subscribe to your channel.
Welcome aboard! 🙂
As much as I love Nordhavn, in my taste, it's a little small; 55 - 68 is perfect. As always, a perfect video!
They will happily sell you a bigger one! 😄
4:10 that foiling tri looks like a serious bit of kit
So well thought out , a lot of clever stuff going on ,,, not sure about the eye on the bow at waterline , but the bunks and engine room make up for it.
Are you sure you’ve not made a mistake, and it is in fact a 51’?! It’s massive!
Really enjoyable tour of a ‘classic Nordhavn’, thanks 👍
After watching your channel for two years, Nordhavn is by far my favourite boat.
This one is fantastic, goes anywhere and can be sailed solo.
Perfect. But no water maker?
You're not picking up any chicks at the marina, but every captain will give you a bro nod
Beautiful boat. reminds of the Nord Haven 62 I ran in the South China Sea. These boats a masterfully built with safety in mind to which the vessel’s scantlings included is a big plus for those who ply the seven seas. Your tour was well done.
What a great boat. That seems like the epitome of "you get what you pay for" and if you pay a little more you get the quality that comes with it.
Beautiful, love the portholes, did you see how the grain of the wood matches, attention to detail amazing 👏
“Classic Nordhavn” *Everybody drinks*
alcoholic boat :D
@@murzello and suddenly the channel name has a hole different meaning XD
LMFAO so true
Seems to be a floating bar. It entices you to drink at every turn.
I was about to get a beer when I read this lol
I think my fav is "Can do".
Best video tour yet of the N41. It has to be the best of its type of boat on the market. Hope they can hold the price.
I'm a real fan of Nordhavn's and despite its relatively diminutive size, it is still has the essence of the type. The way they have used the space, is really, really clever. I absolutely love it. Thanks, Nick.
What a beautiful yacht, has everything you need and more!
