    Hey I learned a new word today, "dross"! Beautiful video, all of them are. I find that you're one of the very few mental health educators who actually gets down to the nitty gritty of depression. You're not afraid to show the ugly darkness of it and that it can be a fatal disease(suicide). You're not afraid to take it there- to explore the dark abyss with us. Your books are a treasure. You keep it real, and that is why you've been so therapeutic and helpful to so many. You know exactly what we're feeling, you've been there and survived.

    Wonderful Douglas. Threading Fire is a constructive way to pass the time in Hell, versus the other option that we all know, the flames ALWAYS subside, like the tides they come and go. Thanks for reminding us of this FACT.

    I’ve been in the building for years, the flames just get worse. Nothing ever gets better, especially these past two years. I’ve dealt with these flames for long enough. “No mud no Lotus”-Brother Thay. I understand these messages and have read Thich Nhat Hahn’s books, but for years the mud and flames stay, no matter what I do. I have been told I’m very strong and I put up with a lot (I have many physical illnesses that have changed my life) The world around me is beyond my control, lockdown brought back my agoraphobia for the third time and I am never going out again.

    For me my hell is not anxiety. It’s the losing a huge part of myself after my mental breakdown and not feeling human. Not feeling like I can even feel my morals. It’s losing such a huge part of myself and wondering if I’ll ever get it back.

      I also lost a huge part of myself during my worst breakdown. But slowly it came back the brain has something called neuro plasticity which means it can heal itself. Give it time and hopefully you aren't under the care of a good mental health professional.

    To me it's getting to the point where I'm convinced those I love are far better off without me. I bring more suffering in their lives alive than if I were dead. What if I am not refined by this but stay only to suffer till my inevitable death.

    • @DouglasBloch
      @DouglasBloch  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m sorry that you’re in so much suffering. I have been there myself. I know people who have told me that the world would be better off without them, but that was not true. Here is something a road called “don’t believe everything your brain is telling you“. I hope you’ll find it helpful.

    @Douglas Bloch yeah the way I tread fire now is forex trading, like I am making money but I'm like also feeling like I am learning something and it takes my mind off of my depressive states. I just escape a little for at least 5 minutes, and it helps. I do agree that I am also learning that I am becoming refined as a person, I do believe there is a God I don't know which, but I know there is something out there. I am thinking about making music videos based off these depressive states and honestly I think it would help people to cope a little bit more.

    • @Djhylow
      @Djhylow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DouglasBloch Forex trading is basically trading currency. You know when currencies are fluxuating in price, it's basically that, and you can make money from it. It's kind of like the stock market, except with currencies you have trillions of dollars going through it, but yeah. There are a lot of scammers in forex, but if you want a brief run down of it check out the moving average channel on youtube, he has gone through some hard stuff in his life and forex trades, so I love his channel. But yeah definitely gonna use the money I make to make those music videos for sure, it would probably help me and help a lot of others.

The director woukd wriite them up. I just quit this job for another. God keeps making me go through one hell after the other. I dont know why. I even took a job when I first quit the prison unloading trucks for $15 an hr with bad ankles. I just got another job, it's a little more monet than the nursing home but not as much as the state job. I'm 48 and worried about my retirement, I don't have one and I wasn't able to finish my MA. I feel like I hate them, the prison ppl. Wonder if they'll get karma and if things coukd ever really improve where I have enough money, more peace, more manageable work, comradry, pension and ability to finish grade school. My wife has a good job and wants to stay but there are not alot of decent jobs here for some reason . We have considered divorcing but takes two incomes to survive at least in our case. Am I cursed? Why is this keep happening to me . Why don't suitable doors open for me? How woukd you proceed? Depression isn't creating this, this is me getting depressed and anxious from the situations.

I went to NYC Chinatown area yesterday and doing that cheered me up a little but I miss training in Kung fu but there is nobody near me in PA which depresses me further. My son complained about the traffic which caused me to not enjoy the experience fully. I coukd have gone alone but I woukd have been lonely because it's a 2.50 drive. This is why sometimes I think I woukd be better off dead too many obstacles and lots of grief. I got 2 duis and my wife has to drive me to work for a year and the only places that will hire me as a teacher are tough inner city schools 1.50 away. Sir: You can't say cancel or see a way out: many times, I don't have the strength anymore after digging deep and pulling my bootstraps up over and over and over and over sacrificing all of me.
    When you are truly suicidal there's no " oh better call a friend" because you can't utter any words anymore. Folks get tired of you asking for help, and many of us are in the same level of pain throughout our lives. There are only so many "try again " you can muster. The pain is bad for years and years, and you have no support around: Many have left you or harned you. I have to say this because i hadn't the strength to say cancel. I just cried, and time went by still in pain. I sort of took offense to you transient attitude of this too shall pass. YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I'VE BEEN.TOLD THAT!!!!! No one can advise someone who has spent a lifetime struggling. No one. I'm sorry but that felt like: " little girl..just deal with it" I honestly wish I was on that high ledge with only those 2 choices because it wouldn't look like suicide and hurt others or hurt "the family" image.
