Good advice . 78 living on 2 acres of gardens and grow my own food as much as possible. Live alone now and keep busy volunteering in a hospice one day a week. It’s a good life with grandchildren and 4 kids 1 1/2 hours away . Been blessed with good health so far 🙏🙏
I am about to reach 79 within less, than 2 weeks, I manage all my home work, garden work and cooking plus evening walk out and do all shopping.I feel I am a happy person
Excellent. 👍 Good for you. When you are busy doing things you enjoy - home work, gardening, cooking, reading, watching movies, household chores, DYI projects, home maintenance, travelling, road trips (west coast, central and East coast of US), commenting on Utube, sharing ideas, doing puzzles and IQ tests, fixing cars, plumbing, electrical, home constructions (painting, dry wall repairs, kitchen improvements, etc), stocks investments, financial planning, fraud and forensic accounting, astronomy, geopolitics, heath science readings, and related matters, even sleeping a little longer when you're tired, you are busy living and no time to die. 😂 That's what I do everyday. Time passes so fast. Try it, you will enjoy it. I wish there is 25 hrs a day. 😂 There is so much to do, and so little time. So, life is short and the art is long. For exercise, make it exciting - play Pickleball, Pingpong, badminton, swimming or squash. Challenge younger players. Believe me, you will push yourself to excel to win and increase your endurance. You don't have time to get sick. 😂
I am 85 years old. My wife is 82 years old. We both have our pension and social security. These are enough to meet out living expenses. We live in a two bedroom /2 bath apartment in a 55+ community. My wife has diabeties which is at times worrisome. Life is generally good. We are not very social people. We enjoy being alone and not lonely. We hope to live a good life. 1 - I still have my own home. Care for it and take care of myself. Daily cooking. Working my gardens and canning what I grow. When garden season is over, the two months I stay more indoors I create and hook rugs. At 87 I beat cancer two years ago. I divorced fifty years ago and was in a long relationship for 30 years. I’ve been on my own for 26 years and I still drive everywhere. I have friends of all ages and we meet for lunch or dinner once a week. Most of us single women seem to be a lot happier than those married who have to take care of an ailing spouse. I didn’t retire from the road as a sales rep until I was 83. Staying active is the key to eternal youth and never giving into age. It’s just a word not our mantra.
I am 82 years old and a malaysian. I still cycle to buy provisions and marketing Apart from these i clean my house. and do gardening I have my three meals every day breakfast, lunch and dinner Thank the Good Lord for my good health
Malaysia is a beautiful place to retire as it has everything you need (both modern and traditional). Great people, great food, great health care, great environment , great warm weather and clean water! Very happy for you
I'm 80 yrs old and going to be 81 yrs on Dec.I cook, gardening, shop for my food ,drive myself to doctor appt, doing word puzzles, love to dance, listening to music ,go to church and some socializing. Thanks God for all the blessing even I'm a widow and live by myself.
I'm 80 this coming January and being able to still live an independent life like I used to do is the most important gift and blessing I cherish. I'm a widow since 49, have 3 children but 1 has passed away, making me sad at times. However, keeping myself busy with spiritual activities by regularly going to church and facilitating Bible Study with co- seniors, reading a lot, writing and joining my children and grandchildren whenever I'm invited to join them, shopping for my own needs and cooking my own food or my grandchildren's, make me feel fulfilled and important. No dull or boring moment yet.
Just turned 69, living in a 55+ community that I'm very active with. Sad to see so many health issues. It's a priority for me. No man in my family lived beyond 85, and even then, many health issues. I have managed to reverse my heart disease, and currently, I am on no medications. I now think I have a good chance to make it to my 90's. I'm in better health now than when I was in my 40's.
Thank you for sharing! I'd love to know which lesson you found most impactful. That would be incredibly valuable to us. Wishing you a peaceful and happy life!
I was born in 1945, married for 31 years. My wife died last year from Altziemers at 69 years. We had five children. I live on my own in the UK with no health problems. We have free health care here which is great. I own my own flat, and have free local public transport with my senior bus passes. I realise I am very lucky. Advice for others ,don't smoke and stay positive and cheerful. I count my blessings every day as my parents taught me .

So true! All the points are very valid! My husband and I were married 40 years. We got married at 21 and were the only ones each other ever had. He passed away 13 years ago very suddenly. He left me secure and I have everything I need. I feel no desire to remarry.I will be 75 soon.I use technology and do all the things you suggested. I do volunteer Bible work every day.
Great company here. Bumping 77 and feel the same as 50 years ago. Maybe because my wife is 52. Lots of yard work, new projects and exercise. Work outside shirtless every day. Started telling people that I’ll be a hundred in 23 years. That stops them telling me that I don’t look my age. The next 1/4 century should be a blast. See you all then👍
M 78 , eat everything. Exercise everyday 30-45 mins. Or an hour. Walking n running do household chores. At night after watching news, before I go to bed, read my Bible n pray. 🤗✌️👍☺️🙏🙏🙏🙏

This video has been extremely helpful for me. I'm 78 and I wrote down all 8 tips for staying healthy after 70yrs. Thank you for sharing this invaluable information. 🥰👍👏👐💯
1. Healthy and able to take care of oneself. 2. Able to be alert and aware of possible scams. 3. Maintains financial self sufficiency. 4. Able to communicate effectively 5. Still married to original partner. 6. Able to adapt and learn new skills. 7. Maintains hobbies and fun activities 8. Able to be easygoing and not rigid.
Dignity and self worth and independence. .are essential for senior citizen like me. I am 74 years old and l found interesting to have a deep connection with my Lord 🙏🙏 Jesus Christ.. He alone can give peace .
Thank you for promoting independence and responsibility for good health; being grateful rather than dependent; and appreciating loved ones in your life. Most advice provided steers people to the medical industry with negative outcomes. These 8 things resonated with my actual life...Thank you!
💖 *This video is a gem! The way it highlights the importance of hobbies, staying curious, and having a positive attitude in old age is so uplifting. It’s a beautiful reminder that life can be vibrant and fulfilling at any age. I’m definitely inspired to make the most of my golden years!* 💖
Excellent reminder that every senior needs to know how to navigate through unfamiliar journey of old age. When your level of abilities like physical strength, emotional intelligence and mental health is slowing down. Well said. I could relate to each and every topic you discussed. Thanks
I enjoyed this video but would prefer it be shorter in length and less repetitive. I am fortunate and the eight things you recommend are mostly present in my life at age 75. I sense that more social interactions would be good for me as I have an outgoing personality. I have enrolled in yoga classes at the nearby community college and exercise vigorously on weight lifting equipment 3-times a week. I have gone to fitness facilities for 35-years. It feels good to again visit the gym and I have made acquaintances with other patrons which I hoped would occur. I have taken up piano in my retirement and while mostly self taught through TH-cam videos and music theory books. My wife and I are about to have our 55th Anniversary, which has been a stabilizing influence in our retirement. I have much to learn, I am very interested in artificial intelligence and how it can be used to help seniors. I use an AI application on my iPad called Genie. I routinely ask questions seeking helpful information on a wide range of topics. I hope I live to be 100 as you suggest is possible. There is still lots to learn and much to do.
Thank you for this very informative video with a lots of motivation points. I am 70 and in good spirit of mind and health. God bless us all who are 70 and above.
I will be 83 next year, in good health and caregiver to my daughter who was disabled in 1997 because of a motor accident. I have never done any exercise....hate it! Sleep with my make-up on every night and wash it off with soap and water every morning when showering. I have a beautiful skin.. and best of all.....God is my everything! He alone is my provider.
@@kotiemulder8103 I marvel at your ability to care for your daughter, I know it’s not only ability, it’s your LOVE. God is on yr side!!!! Would like to share a little of my experience: I hated exercise too but at 80, with a newly replaced knee, Had no choice but to exercise in order to heal properly. In doing so I have learned and truly believed in the daily routine. It helps my ligaments and mainly improves my overall health. Best of wishes to you .
I am 72 years old. I write poetry, children's stories and just released my book called "Celebrating our Creator's truth of love, life and light" I retired from nursing 4 years ago but found myself with too much medatation time so now I am a Notary signing agent and work hours that are suited for me. I continue to play league tennis at a 4.0 level which means that I play at least 4-5 times a week weather permitting. I love to create in my kitchen with the life food from our Creator's table of love. I have a herb garden and 2 figs trees with 2 apple trees. I turned my swimming pool into a garden with roses and fruit trees. Exercise, hobbies, independence from my children, debt free with a home is what I call freedom living with joy, love and living in present time. The whole video was important- each step announced freedom and longivity. Blessing to all with memory peace!
I am 79, very healthy, very active, widowed.5 years ago i moved from USA to Ghana W Africa to be closer to my only son. It was a good decision. I like the challenge, it keeps me interested in Life
I am going to be 72 next year but still working and God for giving me good health.I don't have maintenance as well.I eat food that I cook.hardly buy foods outside.I just look after myself and always go walking.

In my 50’s primarily I was always helping elderly or persons with handicaps. Some showed appreciation, some were just using me and I knew they had family that could help them with things. I guess having a close neighbor was easier? Now it’s my turn to be the old one that needs help, has no friends or family even taking a minute to check on me. Point being, I was always there for people but nobody is here for me now.
Hi a very good talk about elderly, and am glad to hear this topic,am 83 years, and listen from nigeria, I've been dwindled two times since my old age as a senior in nigeria❤

I have watched this script two time. I have been collecting life knowledge along my life time, but there is something i am still missing here. It is a big thankful to you. If, everyone in the world has this knowledge with it, this planet is an amazing place to live.

😂thankyou. .This confirms for me that Iam on the right path, in all my activities, maintaining old friendships ,interacting with them ,getting about and doing most of the things I used to do. Despite a balance problem is o.k. I believe in positivity and doing a lot of things like cooking and daily tasks keeps me occupied and happy. . Doing code words, Suduko etc reduces stress and is fulfilling. Thank you for all the tips to be happy and productive at the age of 84..
I'm nearly 79 years old and I have been playing trumpet for 68 years. I play in a community orchestra and what goes with that is social interaction as well as an enjoyment of music. As we all know playing an instrument keeps your mind active and gives you new challenges, as well as a sense of achievement. I can't thank my parents enough for giving me the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.
I'm giving a 9. Very realistic and practical. Love this! I'm already 73, and can still do many household work, gardening and my opinion and recommendation on certain issues are still sought by organization members , family and former workplace colleagues. Thankful to God for this grace and blessings.
I'm 78, own my home. Did go back to work part-time with 3to5 y/o.😅❤ I do most house maintenance and daily chores myself. Thank God for my health, good life. He has generously blessed me.
@columbmurray Time is of essence in the modern world. We know the longer you stretch the video, the more you earn. But we as readers (especially me) will look for facts. Only facts. Do you know in the Newspapers, they usually have everything in the 1st paragraph and only go into detail in the subsequent paragraphs. And do you know people quit listening if videos aren't to the point. Its up to you. We are the customers.
The many words used to explain something that could be said in fewer words gets tiring. I was ready to check out at #5. Stopped listening before he was finished , probably because I knew most of this already.
I’m 66 and trying to figure out my life after I retire which will be soon. I’m trying to heed all of this good advice. I have always been an active person and don’t want to stop when I retire. It’s scary for me though. I am so accustomed to having a schedule and having to keep things On track.

I'm 74 and I can do everything in that list and more. I'm happy, I still have my original spouse for 54 years. I love a challenge and I love to laugh and can see humour in almost anything. I care about other people and the state of our world. I try to never worry about anything I have no control over. I hope I can live for many more years but I'm ready to go when it's my time. My worst habit is being a night owl, keep trying to change that just not being too successful at that.
As I'm getting older(75) , I hate empty conversations, answering questions, putting on shows ect. Most of important peoples in my life is gone, so I basically learned to be alone. It will be nice to have a lady around now and then.
I'm at 62 , born in the yr of 1962. Learning how to live in my golden yrs to come. This piece of advice is appreciated while performing my duties as a muslim. Alhamdulillah❤❤❤😊

I think #8 is the most important in the long run. I’m 71 myself now and am successfully doing all 8, except #5. Divorced after 33 years but still friends. But my mother and now my boyfriend’s mother, in their 90’s, became miserable, angry, complaining people which led to nobody ever wanting to be near them!
Thank you for sharing! I'd love to know which lesson you found most impactful. That would be incredibly valuable to us. Wishing you a peaceful and happy life!
I'm 80 and became a stand-up comedian at 67! I hang out with people of all ages and fellow comedians. All of my friends are at least 20 years younger than me. It's one of the things that keep me young. I wear heels and dance in 4" heels! My doctor is amaze by me. The young are my secret to a happy, healthy life! I still drive even at night and don't need corrective lenses and I've had no eye surgery.

To be honest, at 80, I feel this is the best time of my life …which fulfills all eight rules of your video! I feel very fortunate.
I was born in 1946 and spent most of my life single taking care of myself.
Taking care of myself and not depending on anyone has helped develop my mindset to be independent and self-sufficient.
I now live outside of the USA and that is a real game-changer.
A less stressful lifestyle and a more healthy lifestyle.
I don't take any medication, no alcohol or foods laden with chemicals.
Of course, illness can strike at any time, but I have learned to enjoy life while I can.
I'm with you on that except I live here in the states. Don't believe in doctors, so I go the natural route. Cook my own food from scratch and don't eat processed food or food filled with junk. I even cook my dogs food and he will be 11 the end of December and acts more like a two year old. He's never eaten commercial dog food and his teeth are sparking white. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for sharing!. That would be incredibly valuable to us. Wishing you a peaceful and happy life!
As an 81 year old guy, never married and no family...I NEED to be independent!!
Thank you for sharing! I'd love to know which lesson you found most impactful. That would be incredibly valuable to us. Wishing you a peaceful and happy life!
@@Lighthouse_Wisdom Not comparing myself to others and not ever to be a burden on friends!
Sad...no man is an island !
How do you manage?I get depressed

I was born in 1945, married for 31 years. My wife died last year from Altziemers at 69 years.
We had five children.
I live on my own in the UK with no health problems.
We have free health care here which is great. I own my own flat, and have free local public transport with my senior bus passes.
I realise I am very lucky.
Advice for others ,don't smoke and stay positive and cheerful.
I count my blessings every day as my parents taught me .
Great.
Wish you all happiness
I like the idea that good health is based on good mood.

1. Healthy and able to take care of oneself.
2. Able to be alert and aware of possible scams.
3. Maintains financial self sufficiency.
4. Able to communicate effectively
5. Still married to original partner.
6. Able to adapt and learn new skills.
7. Maintains hobbies and fun activities
8. Able to be easygoing and not rigid.
Thanks.
I agree to all of this. At almost 82, I am grateful to still enjoy living...I have been so blessed in my life❤.
Thank you for sharing!. That would be incredibly valuable to us. Wishing you a peaceful and happy life!

Only for those who had a boring or lousy life their first 70 years. But your optimism is good for you.
Try to find a friend.

Someone can endure old age without believing in Jesus. Anyway, these tips are about enjoying old age, not simply enduring it.
😂thankyou. .This confirms for me that Iam on the right path, in all my activities, maintaining old friendships ,interacting with them ,getting about and doing most of the things I used to do.

You are repeating a lot of words. Shorten the video and summarise it please
Thank you for sharing! We will improve in the next videos. That would be incredibly valuable to us. Wishing you a peaceful and happy life!
Yes, too verbose. Intended messages can be made concise and straightforward.
Well it reinforces the message. Keep it as it is. Are you in a hurry ?
@columbmurray Time is of essence in the modern world. We know the longer you stretch the video, the more you earn. But we as readers (especially me) will look for facts. Only facts. Do you know in the Newspapers, they usually have everything in the 1st paragraph and only go into detail in the subsequent paragraphs. And do you know people quit listening if videos aren't to the point. Its up to you. We are the customers.
The many words used to explain something that could be said in fewer words gets tiring. I was ready to check out at #5. Stopped listening before he was finished , probably because I knew most of this already.
This video is extremely important! Thank you so much.
I’m 66 and trying to figure out my life after I retire which will be soon. I’m trying to heed all of this good advice. I have always been an active person and don’t want to stop when I retire. It’s scary for me though. I am so accustomed to having a schedule and having to keep things

Hey Mabel, GOOD for you.. Humor , stay aware , keep moving , say the Serenity Prayer often..
As I'm getting older(75) , I hate empty conversations, answering questions, putting on shows ect. Most of important peoples in my life is gone, so I basically learned to be alone. It will be nice to have a lady around now and then.
