Take what you will of this. “If it’s happening to others - it’s a comedy. But if it’s happening to you - it’s a tragedy.” Learn to invoke dread. Putting yourself in the characters perspective draws this out. I also recommend to start with reading short horror stories, or even short horror poems. It was popular for 2 seasons because it was 2cour, it wasn't just about food, it had searching for Falin, finding her, resurrecting her and her turning into chimera dragon and team preparing to rescue her. People are hyped because adaptation was faithful and well made, next season will adapt rest of them manga which also has good ending.
It doesn’t matter anyways because snob hasn’t even watched dungeon meshi. He’s basically complaining about anime he hasn’t bothered to watch.
@@Grudgebearer47 That applies to most of shows he mentioned in this video.
@@bastek66 which is also why I haven’t bothered to watch the video. Idk if he gave any anime this year the “aoty” award but I don’t care at this point. I’m more interested in what his fans consider to be the best this year has to offer.
I read a "2024 overrated anime" article on some site (probably CBR) it was quite funny because I could tell whoever wrote it only watched at maximum like 10 episodes since they described it as a simple cooking show.
@@Ash_Wen-liAs the manga reader it funny because i remembered the initial reaction to ep1 by some people, they thought it was a serious fantasy anime and thus criticising the humorous elements in the anime lol
Snob, any tips for writing horror?
make it scary, not comical
@@ThatAnimeSnob except if it is Scary Movie
Since it's supposed to be a parody
Watch many horror film and learn where they fail, take good part, also other than watching western horror, try to watch the asian horror film as well, and make yer own hypothesis about what you've watched and what to be done
Whether from known works or independent ones online.
People might not care, but Kenshin is still easily the best thing all year. They changed the director as well so it's far more interesting to look at than the admittedly dull season 1.
S2 is definetely better directed but also moments were it falls flat in comparison to the OG (I know, it is not fair). My go to example right now is the fight against Chou. It was so much more tense and emotionally charge in the OG... the music was part of it but also the entire directing and pacing.
@@WickedAnimeTroll Sure, some key moments are handled better and are more emotional in the og. But the competition isn't the old anime but all the other slop that came out this year.
Bleach gave us more BANKAIS GODDAMMIT 🗣️🔥🔥🔥
We truly are fixing the manga with this one!
Still praying to God that next year one piece will get canceled or oda finally gives up 🙏🙏🙏
Anyways I’ve stopped taking snobs opinion on anime seriously when he gives higher scores to western slop like Terrifier 3 and Boy Kills World. And even more so now that I’ve learned he hasn’t even watched most of the shows he’s been saying are shit. He’s biased against anime and that’s that. I’ve lost hope in him liking any anime even if it’s actually legitimately good. Even if battle Angel Alita gets an anime adaptation that’s super faithful and has the best animation in the whole industry, he’ll for sure shit on it.
Hopefully snob will turn his channel into a movie channel next year and stop making videos on anime altogether. Thankfully, his fans have given me some baller recommendations so I’m at least sticking around for the comments even if I won’t bother watching his actual videos.
Also people need to stop asking snob what he thinks of a certain anime. It’s very clear he’s going to say it’s garbage.
It was a great year for cartoon movies, transformers one, the wild robot, orion and the dark, and even the watchmen readaptation. Cartoons > live action >>>>>>> anime
Transformers one could have been so much better if it didn’t have all that “dude bro” humor. It’s the reason I haven’t been able to get into many western cartoons lately, it’s just so cringe.
Also “look back” is my favorite movie of the year so idk about that
@@Grudgebearer47 >Fujimoto
No thanks. If they adapt sayonara eri I will watch it tho
@@Ultima.14agree,Sayonara Eri is the my favorite from his works,Fujimoto did better if he was writing short stories than slop like CSM and FP,i think after LB,Sayonara Eri is next in line to be made a movie
So far live actions showed to be worse than anime
@@marcomilillo23 live action has some good highlights this year but anime is definitely superior to western animation in a way, especially on the 2D front. I mean what 2D cartoon is worth watching this year other than x men 97, which is a sequel to a show that came out in the 90s.
Dead year and the next one doesn't look to be any better
It passable to fairly ok year, for if you had time to spent, watch rhe other like
Orb
Dungeon Meshi
Natsume Yuujinchou
Yatagarasu
Frieren
Mononoke movie
Negaposi Angler
Otherwise continue with yer old backlog if you hadn't watch any of them
@@Zero_Tester next year looks fine too. Rose of Versailles movie, Akage no Anne remake, witch hat atelier, more apothecary diaries, more Frieren, more dungeon meshi, sakamoto days (if the manga is any good).
Plus Zenshuu, Kowloon generic romance, the summer hikaru died, Darwin Jihen all look interesting
@@Grudgebearer47the most promising for next year are panty and stocking new season, chainsaw man movie and that new gundam by studio khara
@@vbayer6782 oh I forgot about the new Gundam series. That one actually looks enjoyable.
I’m excited for the chainsaw man movie but I didn’t want to mention it given its reputation on this channel.
Great facts, no one can argue against this one
You can’t call them facts when snob hasn’t even watched 90% of all the shows he’s complaining about
I will and I have done so many times already.
I guess terminator zero also came out this year
And war of the rohirrim
The only thing that was semi decent was makeine and kenshin but one was it was ok while the other one was better in the older version with the only other memorable stuff being the mahoako which was softcore S&M and yuri
Special mentions to the fable and the YGO short animation video for the 25 anniversary
@@averylazydevil dont know about RK remake, the older one when it has lowest point in the story,it also has it highest moment in them(like Shishio Arc for example)
So far the new RK give me impression of it just overall on low point, not to mention the older one has best usage of it soundtrack during key moment in the story.
@@Zero_Tester That's why I said this arc was better in the older version
Girls Band Cry and Losing Heroines are the best
Snob will shit on girls band cry for having lesbians
@ThatAnimeNoob the girls are straight
Whether or not you liked these series, you have to admit that their success in the industry is very impressive. Anime and entertainment in general doesn’t have to be thought provoking or record breaking in order for it to be good you know. Those kinds of series only come out once in a while, and that’s okay.
Damn u got low standards
@ It seems that your standards are so high that you don’t have anything to watch.
Popular doesn't necessarily mean good. Doesn't necessarily mean not good as well. It's simply not a marker of quality.
My problem is not with how popular X or Y is, but rather with the lack of quality. There is not one anime that aired this year that you can call literary for example. Or on the level of lets say Texhnolyze or Haibane Renmei writing.
@ There is some form of quality in almost every single one of said anime he mentioned on the list. It’s simply a matter of preference and perspective. No series (No matter the quality, animation or writing.) is perfect.
@@wendylacey2745 Again, these are just weasel opinions. I'm sorry, Texhnolyze or Haibane Renmei are better than anything that came out this year. Doesn't mean you have to like them, or dislike what came this year, but it is a fact.
Again, my problem is not that there are shows out there that people like that I don't, my problem is that the quality spectrum is not at all well represented. It seems if you are an easily satisfied otaku - you are eating good. But for people like me with literature degrees and shit, what anime offers in recent years just isn't up to snuff.

Genocyber is better than all of these shows
You forgot natsume book of friends s7
Doesn’t matter cause most of the shows he’s saying are bad this year he hasn’t even watched
2024 anime: Forgettable
