At least in Fairy Tail the fakeouts have some reasoning behind it. I can't remember clearly but when Gajeel was about to die in one of the last arcs someone casted a spell that shrunk everything so he survived. I think Juvia also had a fakeout but found a way to not die at the last second. Everyone else was bs like Master Makarov
If only all the fans were as half intellectually honest as Morj... But this is something not even the most miraculous magic of xmas can fix. Fanboys are too sycophantic and lacking of awareness for it to be possible.
Agreed especially when a person criticizes bad writing but they always excuses as part of the story no matter how ridiculous or out of place it is if it appears in the story then there is no need to critic.
Quantity makes all the difference. If Saul's death had been the only fake death in all 1100+ chapters of One Piece, I guarantee no one would have any problem with it.
Morj sells the soap like 95% of the One Piece reviewers but he does have that 1 moment out of a month to escape cognitive dissonance to speak truly about the flaws in said series. Why? Idk maybe I guess even he gets fed up with the BS he says 90% of the time to hype up One Piece only to get stagnant chapters of no development and 1 reveal(new character or look in a past one)after 8 chapters with 3 week hiatus periods happening after 3 chapters in return. Only puzzling thing is why Oda does so much fluff for a series that he says he wants to end soon. The series practically writes itself in earning money in a sequel/spinoff even without his involvement. Idk maybe seeing what Boruto has done to Naruto scares him.
Morj may be a one piece glazer but atleast he’s not a bigoted transphobe who makes a “troon” joke every video despite the fact that digishit being trans has nothing to do with her being inept, or the woke shit being bad having nothing to do with the lgbt themes in and of itself.
its so bizarre for a series about pirates to have such a hard time killing off characters that's my biggest grip with One piece. i dont mind characters not dying but when u put in situation where they should or there's many death flags but they still survive its lame. for example there was no reason for Chiffon 's dad to survive getting beheaded by Oven , it ruins the whole freaking scene or the whole thing about Kaido killing Kinemon but next few chapters he gets right back up with some nonsense. its sad cause Oda showed us he can make good death scenes with Whitebeard and Ace .
I wouldn't even say Ace's death was good since he essentially died over a yo daddy joke. Like I get Akainu was running his mouth about WB but considering the situation Ace should've just got on the boat and ignored Akainu
Hey, Snob, this has nothing to do with the video but I wanna share it with you. My 12yo nephew tried to watch MHA but he dropped it after the second season cause he could no longer stand Deku being such a crybaby 😂😂😂
Modern Kamen rider is guilty of this. They kills of main casts for emotional moment and even for character writing and in one way or another bring them back. I get it's a kids show but the last air bender handled death better than these modern shows.
I agree and it's gotten so old with me. Gavv so far hasn't done this BS yet as we see the deaths happen on screen and they're pretty real. Shoma's mother, Hanto's mother & boss, and now Shiita as of last week's episode. It also helps that the current writer doesn't do redemption arcs for the villains in an attempt to humanize them and make us feel sorry for them so it's very likely they'll be evil until they all die off in this show.
Akainu and Kizaru will make Luffy sellout his crew by giving him a lifetime supply of meat then Akainu will proceed to turn them all into 🍩s. Afterwards, Luffy's "gum gum" fruit will magically reserect his crew and they'll defeat all the bad guys and find the One Piece and the real one piece was the waste of time this series has become over the years.

I feel like Kishimoto is ten times better at writing death scene (If we gonna ignore Neji) because I hate Oda's tendencies to make false death, especially with Kin'emon where the excuse is he's alive because of Law's oopsie daisy cutting powers, which just made his death completely unimpactful. It's not the worst thing ever but atleast two Akazaya 9 members died but some folks barely cared for that because they don't have much more screentime as Kin'emon's and Kanjiro's. Heck even MoistCr1tikal noticed Oda's bad habits of writing false death. Again, if Oda gonna make a dramatic show out of some character dying, might as well do the job. He shouldn't making bluffs at this. Compared that to Naruto characters, once they're dead, THEY'RE DEAD!, even if some didn't actually die, then still DIE later when it's needed the most (with Madara for example) and Kishimoto knows how to use their writing as a last special attack bullet since this is only one shot and no more. I feel like Oda sometimes forget that. This why we got great moments like Itachi, Pain, and most especially Jiyraya's. Kishimoto respected Jiyara's death to the point he doesn't want him get reanimated jutsu in the War Arc. Now that's just shows how much the writer understand what death really is..
They are both bad, reanimation in the war arc was stupid and was made due to fanservice. It also creates plotholes in the whole show too since people can abuse the reviving mechanic if they get their hands in it. Its not about something wanted or not with these authors, it needs to have some logic behind them and both Naruto and One piece is one of the worst offenders when it comes to setting building since they try to implement futuristic weapons and tools in a 17th century setting where the tech should be objectively better than anything else (everyone should be using motorboats, submarines, planes, etc).
