    Loving the bison, Pav. I nearly collapsed in a heap when I saw the Bevel brushes and Knife brush. What a time to be alive. Sadly, one of the all-time legends and pioneers of Zbrush hard-surface - Mike Nash - can´t be with us to witness these tools on this momentous occasion for Zbrush fanatics everywhere. RIP Mike. Your spirit lives on in these new brushes.

    Those features where missing puzzle pieces in zbrush to make the app even greater for certain tasks like hard surface concepting and modeling. Unbelievable those are in there now and that robust and flexible. ZBrush devs are crazy magicians, really mindblowing what is happening there. What a win on all ends. I feel this rounds it up and now you can hardly grab your jaw from the floor when you think about how versatile (and clean!) these tools are. Wonderful times to be a 3d artist.

    Another way to thicken the geometry, and what I usually do, is Edge Loops -> Panel Loops, with polish and bevel set to 0. Or you can make a difference mesh. Or... Let's just put it this way, there are so many different ways to do things in Zbrush that if you ever add a full scripting language, you should add Perl, not Python like everyone else, because Perl's motto is "There's More Than One Way To Do It".

    What does "control-shift-A" do? Normally, I would jus take the exposed polygons, auto-group them, and then hide the other side. I have no idea what you just did there, and I bet a lot of other people don't either.

      @@feetcentral oh gotcha. I'd suggest for now putting a bevel on a rounded object using the myriad of other techniques other than a sculpting brush, or if you need to use sculpting, trim dynamic/hpolish/smooth. it won't be perfect, but again, not sure I'd use scupting brushes as a be-all-end-all solution for hard surface modeling. For example, ZRemesh to get predictable geometry, then zmodeler to dial in your chamfer / fillets to whatever specification you want th-cam.com/video/tnOiMzqHf74/w-d-xo.html

    • @feetcentral
      @feetcentral 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MichaelPavlovich You are right. There are enough other solutions. But it would be the most perfect Bevel Brush if this would be possible ;)
