I was rather curious about this feature as I've always wanted to try that other Marvelous alternative, but I can't see using it enough over all the other programs I've accumulated over the years to justify an occasional use (for my uses anyway) along with associated costs and learning yet another program. This looks quite useful for having a decent library of starter meshes to play with then go nuts as one desires. Personally, I've always been of the mask and extract party, but I could wing this and see what's what one of these days.

Hi Michael! I tried the spotlight with a t-shirt shape but the cloth effect only works on the z axis, no matter if i recalculate or turn off and turn on again the collision volume. Can you figure out what i might be missing?

The only thing that comes to mind is make sure in your Dynamics menu that any contact / expand / etc... constraints arent set to z only (turn on the little x and y as needed); in the instance of a tshirt, having y off might be helpful, but make sure x and z are on

@@MichaelPavlovich thanks for the quick reply. I guess i was simply not used to this method of "sewing" clothes to the model as, after a closer look at your tutorial, you actually remove gravity and the "contract" option only works on the z axis when sewing the clothes. So, silly me ^_+

Sincere question - why do this instead of a mask and extrude? Since you have to remesh the topology anyway... this just seems like it takes a LOT longer. Is there an obvious benefit to this approach that I am missing?

in the case of a skin tight tank top, mask and extrude works fine. maybe not so much with a dress or anything that's not skin tight.

Hi Michael thanks for your videos, i have a question, i'm creating with spotlight some shorts on my female mesh but when i run simulation the shorts doesn't match the subtool and keep contracting on itself, ignoring the mesh, what i'm doing wrong?

@@MichaelPavlovich yes it's active but i've found the error, i was not subdividing the lateral part of the mesh! Thank you for the reply and for your super tutorials!
