Literally just finished the anime, I haven't seen to many films with romance and none of them I've found a connection between the characters. The colours are just great and everything makes sense. 10/10
Edit: Watching the video I realised that the detail is so good.

Shame gets a lot better when you find a group of people who share the aspect you are ashamed of. Personally, I use social media to find groups of people with similar problems and characteristics so that I don’t feel like I am the only one who feels this way.

Great review! But let me add:
Also, the color scheme are a great tribute to the City Pop album art covers during the 80s. 🥰 And also, Taeko Onuki being there who sang the main OST. ♥️♥️♥️
Also, buckteeth are considered beauty marks in the 80s Japan.

I relate to Cherry so much in this!! I hate loud noises and I communicate better through writing…..and with my thing for Smile, I have a gap between the two central incisors on the top row of teeth that I have and I have a severe overbite and a slight cross bite which makes me have faux buck teeth…..but I also have braces and I got them last year and I have to wear them for a year a half before I get them taken off….
Edit: if my school allowed me to wear headphones and I wasn’t scared to do it in public with my mom, I would wear headphones to do exactly what Cherry does….

I just watched Words and now came to your video to see your opinion of it. And I completely agree. The movie ends happy, yet it also gives (personally) the sense of shame in how one is to have growth over time. Weather it be for better or worse is made through our own choices. The movie shows how we need to overcome the things that best hold us back yet the feeling of that incapability is what makes the movie bitter sweet for me. Overall great video dude :)

I just watched it and didn't even pick up any of the "male standard" "female standard" thing.
Yui is not ashamed, he has crippling social anxiety and overcomes it for Smile.
And Smile is struggling with her self image like any teenager does.
Not because of anyone elses beauty standards but because she stopped liking the person she is.

I think there are two types of shame. One type is the one we should feel. When we are spiteful or hurt others, or break the social compact. Shame is a component that is supposed to correct our behavior so we can interact with others. It is an internal correction system. When I see a riot and people looting stores, I hope that they feel shame every time they look at or use what they stole. The other type of shame is what is dealt with in the movie. They are things that neither character should feel shame for. I just stumbled on your video because of Belle review. Thanks for the content

I've just see the movie and I really liked it but must sadly say that I could not watch the last couple minutes, because it was just way to embarrassing to endure for me. Same with the scene when Smile broke the record. I had to make the Netflix window small and cover everything except the lower half with the subtitles up and mute the movie.
Edit: I will now watch it without sound and maybe I can endure it after that a third time as a whole with sound. We will see.
Edit 2: Survived it... it was not as bad as I imagined it... and also felt a whole lot shorter than the first time. Now with sound...
Edit 3: Good, it was good, Smiles smile at the end was also good... I am pretty dumb...

I saw this anime on Netflix and at first I thought it was going to be trash because I watched another anime movie that had a similar title that I thought was trash. The title is fireworks and I’m sure there was a deeper meaning to the movie but I couldn’t see it.

Yes a really honest opinion , everyone says Sonny boy or re main is the best anime this season but words Bubble like soda pop is the actual good one . No hate to other animes though they are also good
