The fact that we could relate to this movie cause somewhere deep down we are also insecure about ourselves.

My favorite part of the movie is that it's obvious that Cherry has autism, and they don't treat it like a horrible thing, they treat it natural and I love it so much coming from someone who is autistic

I watched this anime in a film viewing in our school's Foreign Language Club, and oh my word, I genuinely loved the movie. My friends thought the same as well. Not only is the art style unique and colorful, the characters were just as colorful as well. With their own struggles with own security made them relatable, and seeing them embrace those securities at the end of the movie was touching. Everyone in the meet also loved the confession scene and were like spamming "YIEEEEEE"s in the chatbox. Definitely a masterpiece we'll never forget of.

The film was so beautiful. I related so much to it. I’m really skinny, and was often too insecure to wear tight or revealing clothing. I would stuff my bra, and eat a lot to try to put on weight, or get “curvy”. My family would call me “ペーパー“ (paper). I would wear bulky clothing because I didn’t want people to see me. But, I’ve slowly come over it with the help of my friends. The film truly shows the struggles that are faced ❤
That’s such a wonderful thing! I too endure a ton of insecurities that are still a big problem to me to this date. But as time goes on, I start to realize that things can be different for everyone and that our imperfections can actually be turned around into our own standard. (:

There will always be people who dislike or judge you because of your appearance, but please know that there will also be those who recognize that the very things about you that others reject, are a beautiful and indispensable part of who you are, and will love you all the more for it. I had binged two anime shows before I watched this. The end of each was bittersweet. More so bitter to me than sweet, because the ending left me empty without the stories continuing on.
But this one, when I watched it all the way through, left no such feeling at all. It was strange, but I guess it has to do with the message.
I think for me, this movie kind of left me with nothing in comparison to like Violet Evergarden because of the level of emotion being implemented within the film. Nonetheless, it still was good.

I absolutely fell in love with the movie, cherry sort of being a reflection for myself. The thing I loved most though is how their theme of insecurities is portraited in this candy land pop colour palate which seems gorgeous. You're criminally underrated my dude, this review/insight was so smoothly presented, you definitely deserve more love. A instant sub to you!

I adore this movie so much, it was really sweet, pretty, and the entire cast was great. But what I loved most is that while their insecurities don’t apply to everyone, they were tremendously relatable. The journey they went to finding comfort in each other, the backtracks that causes us to fall back in our own self-doubt, and then both characters at the end finally not only overcome that burden but accept it together had me screaming and crying during the credits. Them both overcoming their fears through a confession was admittedly cliche as hell but it was executed in such a good way that I still believe this movie is one of the best portrayals of insecurities ever. This was a great video on the movie’s key concepts that made it feel so close to home and just made me so happy that I had watched it. thanks for the analysis dude

Hey! Did you realize that the thumbnail style changed? The two corner arrows have been flipped because I realized that the bottom right corner always gets hidden by the duration overlay on videos. It's not that important, but it's just something I like to do with the thumbnails. It's kind of like a unique marking for my channel haha.

i kinda relate to both, in a way. it’s due to my insecurities that i don’t want to interact with others. like i hate how i look when i talk, so i don’t 💀
Everyone has insecurities and everyone faces a different difficulty. I think the most important thing to note, however, is that that insecurity probably does not affect anyone else; at least that's what I experienced and noticed.
I totally relate with the characters.

I can't believe it took me this long to watch such a beautiful and unique movie. I literally just finished watching it and run to TH-cam to see if there are video essays about it and I found this! I like that videos like this puts together the thoughts I have about the movie I just watched, so thank you!
I liked the fact that although it was a short movie, the characters overcoming their insecurities doesn't feel rushed. It's a simple story with a simple premise and a very "human" conflict just like most Ghibli films which I adore. It's very refreshing to see new movies like this in a long time.

This film basically put me on a path of anime and ph my SUGAR CUBES!!!!!!!! IT WAS SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!! I understood all the characters so much, I'm very out going with people I know but new people are terrifying, and I'm also very insecure because of society... This is why I loved this movie sooooooo much I was squealing and basically jumping up and down when I watched it cuz it was so good!!!!! WATCH IT OR I'LL STEAL YOUR COOKIES!!!!!

@@EMBHaiku I agree. I think a lot of people, however, are disappointed by some aspects of it especially because the story plot itself may not seem as interesting for those who are more interested in romance or action. Nothing about the anime is as special as other anime series may seem.
I forgot that your channel doesn't have that many subscribers. I remember seeing this channel a good while back and thinking that you did a great job. And it seems your are keeping that quality great! You will get more subscribers soon enough ;)

You really have a very beautiful voice it made me relax more than I hoped for today. I watched the anime some months ago and still rêmmber everything because the anime made me truely happy, even if people say its a waste of time. Its wonderful how a human being can feel things though screens, sceneríe and even more! Of course I have my own problems but I got help so- I hope you will have a great day! I am in Greece, surrounded by people. But I still feel lonely and sad. I don’t belong there. I wanna go home to Sweden. I am for the most part an introvert. But I still yearn for a long term relationship. With someone. Without autism. I know that it seems unrealistic for most. Because it would never work. But I believe that there is someone out there that would be ok with dating someone with asd. Everyone can’t like me. And I can’t like them back in the same way. But I know a girl that has actually started to like me Genuinely. And even if it maybe doesn’t lead to anything. I would still be with her no matter what would happen. I feel happy and less sad when I am with her. She’s so calm and kind to me. She’s 18. But I don’t care of what others think of that. Why should I take damage by the words of others. If they don’t like it. Then it’s their problem and not mine. Also you don’t need to take part of that if you don’t want to see that.
You know, I related to the movie so much, as someone who’s been insecure about my bunny teeth since I was little, it was so sweet I loved this movie. 🫶🏻
