How are you still liking it? I was thinking about getting one. Would it be a nice step up from the Fiio K7? I find the K7 to lack good technicalities. The EPZ TP50 sounds a bit better in upper end? How much of a difference does a dongle compare to an actual dac amp?

Remember Hiby Stuff FD5 including sounds a bit mid forward so It wort work for all gear In my opinion 🤔 it pushes vocals and instrumental out front of the bass. Treble and details are great. I find the R6iii better sounding. Over the FD5 . Depending on what your looking for and what sound your after to pair with your gear.
Very cool looking, Hiby are on a roll at the moment with their take on industrial/product design I have no real use for it as I live alone with no neighbours nearby so can blast my £4k Dynaudio’s + sub whenever and I have my Hiby R6 iii and meteor iem/hd490 headphones for other duties but damn……….i want that on my desk under my iMac just to play with the clicky volume wheel……..would I use it?……..probably very seldom if I’m honest so why I am i browsing the Hiby website with the FD5 in my basket? 😮
DynAudio oh so many memories, ALL of my demo cars we built for sound Audio Competition all used Dyn we won so many events and guarded our secret for years! Killed the Competition and still do. Great set up congratulations!
Great review thank you Hiby is releasing a lot of good products and because of your review and some others I tried m first Hiby product and is the Hiby R4 DAP and I have a question for you and a complain for Hiby customer support 🙄🙄or if anybody in the chat if you can help me is about the Bluetooth I’m so frustrated that I couldn’t connect the R4 Bluetooth with any of my three different TV Bluetooth transmitters I just can’t but when I tray to connect to my iPhone or my IPad magically I can do it so hope you Monk or anybody smarter than me please help me Hiby Support is a nightmare 😡 but the product are great thank you 🙏🏽
Very tempting but i think i will stick with the topping NX7 as its dead neutral tuning doesnt alter the sound signature of say the cayin RU7 or dac i connect to it while giving me a low noise floor and over 1w of power.

I don't know if I need it, but I want it and I don't have any desktop or high power amp/DAC , so I guesses it a needed buy for one that fallen into the rabbithole
Man i am looking for a desktop DAC. I am kind of confused between D70 Octo or one new model from SMSL. Will pair it with A70 Pro and TA20 Plus Amplifiers for my Bokeh.
It could have been better if they implement it as both portable and desktop solution by incorporating the top section as seperate dac-amp integration and the base as home desktop amp .

I find the new hiby stuff futuristic yet also looking like toys. I hope they decide to make special editions with black and gold accents.

BT also hates me sorry, Had no issues with the FD5 to another Hiby.
Ooo very tempted to upgrade from my schiit stack to this.
Just remember it's a bit mids forward, so wont work for all gear.

You have the amps already I would just get the Geshelli Labs J2 AKM4493 DAC

They have lots of DAP'S so I guess no need for a conversion to portable eas the thought and probably couldn't get that much power ?
So fd5 is not totally better than r6 iii? 😢
