Your methods are great for beginners. I watch other videos and cringe at the way they square up edges. The way you cut is great too. I find it’s much more accurate. Thanks for a great video
Right! When I 1st started my quilting journey, I was watching a different famous YT channel, and my blocks always came out wonky. I started watching FQS, using her methods, including starching, and my journey is more accurate, beautiful, and fun with less stress!
Good job explaining the steps, Kimberly. Ive always been a little intimidated by bargellos but you made it look easy, and I plan to give it a try. Thanks! 😊
Kimberly, your patterns are always easy to follow; the cutting instructions are clear as are the piecing instructions. These tutorials are the icing on the cake! Thank you for the pattern.
I love the colors! Thank you, Kimberly, for your easy to follow instructions. I've been watching you for some years now. Maybe this will be the one project I will try to attempt 😅wish me luck!
Thank you Kimberly and FQS. I really love this quilt. It’s so pretty. I appreciate that you designed a bargello pattern for beginners. This was a a very versatile pattern. 💗 from Minnesota.
A trick for Barglloquilts: Cut the strips for the left and the right edge 1/2 inc bigger and cut them to size at the end ater piecing allt the strips together. I taught the making of bargelloquilts for a quiltshop in Vienna and this trick was helpful.
I have a question. When I am pinning 2 long strips together , I seem to run into an issue while sewing them. Once I begin, the top fabric tends to buckle up(gets a little wavy) just a little, so by the time I get to a pin, there is extra fabric at that pinned point. I wonder now if I should use more pins? Is it the way I am holding the fabric, or is it my machine? Any thoughts?
I'm no expert but my two cents...for long seams I like to pin the start and finish and each intersection, and also use a walking (or even feed) foot. Others I've see use a tiny drop of glue in the seam allowance, dried first of course, which should hold things in place. I also find just pressing the seam you want to sew gives it just enough friction to stay together.

@@paulavandieden8609 THANK YOU Paula. I might try the walking foot. The glue sounds like a good idea too. Just a smidgen..
