Totally agree! I have both and funny story how I obtained Mystical Ninja. Rented it from Block Buster as a kid and figured I could put a different game in the box and they wouldn't care. But also felt bad about doing it, so returned the rental with my copy of Star Wars: Shadow of the Empire. :-P
Body Harvest is hands down one of my all time favourite N64 games, one of the most loved but seemly forgotten games regarding the general gaming public. Just a great game, it needs an HD remaster.
I have a Banjo-Tooie game that has the same 'Not for Resale' on the front and the sticker on the back. It was from a Gamestop Kiosk, probably the same thing with your Star Fox cart.
I believe Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine was a (mostly) blockbuster exclusive, where if you wanted a copy to own instead of rent you needed to buy directly from Lucasarts online store. Also Sin and Punishment is worth adding to any collection, it's a JP exclusive but easy to play without knowing Japanese, and the cutscenes are in English so you can follow the plot as well more or less.
I don’t remember it being a blockbuster exclusive. I had asked for it for Christmas and my mom couldn’t find it anywhere, so after some online searching I found you had to order it from LucasArts’ online store. I still remember walking my mom through ordering it online, it was her first online purchase! Ha!
Ogre Battle 64 is my favorite game of all time. They haven't made another game like it, and it has the distinction of being one of the only RPGs on the system.
Thank you for this video, Jason. N64 is my favourite console and my childhood. I've dumped tens of thousands of hours into it and own a third of the NTSC library, including Clayfighter: Sculptor's Cut, Super Bowling, and Stunt Racer. Perfect Dark is my favourite video game. I even bought a sealed copy years ago and now it's quintupled in value.
@@jangobango2847 agreed. I LOVED my time with the n64. But if you look at the library the standard was woeful outside of first party and a few select others.
I suggest the lesser known sequel to Mystical Ninja called Goemon's Great Adventure. It's a 2.5D Platformer akin to Tomba or Klonoa, and what most people don't know about the game is that it's not just 2 player co-op... There is a secret unlockable 4-player co-op mode and tons of other secrets in the game!
Also wanted to point out that Indiana Jones, like Stunt Racer, was a Blockbuster Video rental exclusive title, and because of that reason many collectors seek it out and tends to be very hard to find in nice condition... and absurdly rare complete with manual.

Nice collection. I bought the N64 for my daughter back in 04/05 (she was 9) and loved Yoshi's Island and a lot of the games out on that system. I ended up on a personal quest to collect every game at the time as the system was almost 10 years old then and carts were being given away at yard sales for $1-$5 (except the Mario titles). I probably had 75-80 games, and most of the boxes. I would buy box lots on eBay as well to get a few boxes I didn't have. It was a great collection, along with my Atari 5200 collection. I left the N64 and collection with my daughter when her mom and I split. Her mom ended up basically sold it for pennies basically giving it away and I was so pissed! I would have bought it from her along with the PS2 fat collection with DDR metal dance pads, hard drive, and the works. I had so much stuff pre-2007 that I would still love to have now - not to sell, just to play. Divorce sucks!
I actually went through my n64 collection the other day and only have 20 games. For some odd reason I thought I had 30-35 games. Nintendo value n64 games at $20 as evidenced by Mario 3d all stars among other things. They aren't going to give fans 20 n64 games on a mini console for $80.
My Nintendo 64 collection is small as well. The usually Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Donkey Kong 64, Mischief Makers, Paper Mario, Mario Party 2 & 3.❤
when I was a kid I had mario kart 64, fighters destiny, yoshi's story and that was it! but I still played soooooo many hours on my 64. My friend had all the other big games like goldeneye we'd play all the time
Luckily some prices have leveled out a little due to reproduction cartridges. Thank God for those or I would never have had the opportunity to play some tiltes.
Funny, my first N64 game was Wave Race as well, it certainly holds a special place in my collection. It was our first and only game for a few weeks and my first time really seeing a fully 3D game! Maybe I missed these in the vid but a few other great games are Conkers Bad Fur Day, Gauntlet Legends, Pilot Wings and you have to get Tony Hawks Pro Skater.
San Francisco Rush 2049 is STILL probably one of the N64 racing games I’ve spent the most time on ever. The exploration, the speed, the stunts, etc were just spectacular!
All of the RARE titles were absolutely amazing. And as far as shooters go Ive personally played Turok 2: Seeds of Evil to death! Such an amazing soundtrack and really vast levels. Also loved the ATLAS Snowboard Kids 1&2. Lets be real, a majority of all of the "major" or "typical" games ive owned and loved.
Two games that immediately spring to mind: 1) Mario Tennis, awesome game, very simple controls which actually enabled an amazing array of shots. As a four player game I think it was only beaten by Goldeneye. I also had a soft spot for Mario Golf. 2) Spacestation Silicon Valley, one of my favourite games from any era, weird puzzles, bouncing your microchip into new animals and discovering their skills... actually, it's an odd one to describe and I think you have to play it to understand it, but it was great fun. Also, honourable mentions to Donkey Kong 64, again brilliant four player action and Pilotwings 64, which was such a wonderfully rewarding experience. Damn, I miss my N64, some of my best gaming moments were on that console... wandering out onto Hyrule field and seeing the size of the world in Zelda: Ocarina of Time, was breathtaking... repeatedly failing to perform a 1080° was frustrating but felt awesome when it finally landed... every single moment of Banjo-Kazooie was a joy. Edit: Scrolling through the comments and saw this brilliant game: Jet Force Gemini! I remember being really excited for it's release, reading all the updates in N64 Magazine and actually going to the game store to wait for it to open... there wasn't a queue lol! Never did that for any other game. I can't believe I forgot about it. Those giant ants exploding when you shot them was so satisfying 😂
Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine on the N64 is a wholly improved port of the PC version. The game was exclusively sold on LucasArts website (back in 2000!) and available to rent/purchase used from Blockbuster. That’s it! It was NOT released on any other store shelves, shockingly! I got a used copy of it at Blockbuster for $12 for my birthday back then. Still have it with the box and manual.
I would get RUSH 2 - Stunt track music is awesome and growing up I spent way too much time playing that level. Overall, just another great Midway game for the late 90's. I would check it out.
Hah. Zero Hour has a special spot to me. First M rated game I bought without my parents consent, and my mom almost went and chewed out the guy at KB toys for selling the game to a 14 year old
I loved Duke Nukem Zero Hour as a 13 year old. The time travel aspect made for cool levels (Victorian England, old west, etc.) and the weapons were cool. Admittedly, the humor hasn't aged well. The control scheme and even half-jank platforming wasn't a problem for those of us raised on Turok.
I see that your missing a few n64 games MJR (These are from my collection and there are still MOAR N64 games out there): Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA Rush 2049 007:The World is Not Enough Mario Party 3 Pokémon Stadium 2 Megaman 64 NASCAR 2000 Knockout Kings 2000 WCW Mayhem Conker’s Bad Fur Day The Next Tetris Mario Tennis

HSV Adventure Racing - Clone of Beetle Adventure Racing, but all of the cars have been replaced with VT model HSV's (Holden Special Vehicle). It may have only been released in Australia, not sure. But the Aussie voice-over and V8 engine audio track replacements are so worth the buy!

Looks like you're missing the first Extreme-G (I think I saw the second one there). Definetely a good racing game. And I have to agree with you about Duke Nukem Zero Hour. I really enjoy it (I have it with box and manual) but the control scheme is pure jank xD
Awesome video! I think Indiana Jones is very expensive now because it is rare. I think it was a blockbuster exclusive and if you wanted your own copy, you had to order from Lucas Arts, so definitely not a mass produced game. I have it myself and am so happy to have it. I bought it in 2006 for 3 dollars. No box unfortunately. Do you have “the world is not enough” in your collection? It was supposed to be the successor to goldeneye, but goldeneye is a far superior game

I recently started to get into those handheld emulator devices and they're so cool. I love going back and playing these old games and stuff, and these videos always get me excited to play more of them. Thank you Metal Jesus!
I totally missed Harvest Moon for the "n64" System. It's the Stardrew VValley of the good old days. And this game was such a beauty.
Still waiting for the 25th anniversary N64 Classic Mini 🤞
I believe it's the N64 controller that is holding that up.
Nintendo value n64 games at $20 as evidenced by Mario 3d all stars among other things. They aren't going to give fans 20 n64 games on a mini console for $80.
There will never be an N64 classic mini unfortunately.
@@LordelX I think you’re right. It’s a shame as (along with a Dreamcast mini) it’s the only mini console I would buy.
N64 is one of my smallest collections, but probably my most treasured.
I’m the same way. My Zelda games, Perfect Dark, and Conker’s Bad Fur Day are my babies.
maybe because only a few good titles are worth playing today.
"The most"
My Nintendo 64 collection is small as well.
My friend had all the other big games like goldeneye we'd play all the time
Awesome to see the entire collection! Rocket Robot on Wheels is amazing.
N64 prices shot up like crazy in recent times.
Luckily some prices have leveled out a little due to reproduction cartridges. Thank God for those or I would never have had the opportunity to play some tiltes.
So glad to see a Revolt mention in the racing games section. I loved that game when I was a kid. I'd really like to revisit it to see how it held up.
I had it on the PS1. It was fun as hell.
Funny, my first N64 game was Wave Race as well, it certainly holds a special place in my collection. It was our first and only game for a few weeks and my first time really seeing a fully 3D game! Maybe I missed these in the vid but a few other great games are Conkers Bad Fur Day, Gauntlet Legends, Pilot Wings and you have to get Tony Hawks Pro Skater.
same bro. wave race blew my mind the first time playing it.
Conkers was the best. Hands down.
No Conker’s Bad Fur Day? Wow
Its the most expensive title now and has been for some time. If you didn't get it back in the day you likely won't now unless your a serious collector
How much does it go for
@@Eddy_827 about 100
The whole N64 is a hidden gem. I even like the "bad" games. What a wonderful and experimental time for gaming!
and dont forget all these color variations! 😻
You're telling me that you thought superman64 was a fun game?!?!?!
I collected all 296 a few years ago. And I was definitely watching Metal Jesus videos throughout my search!
Do you still have them or did you sell them
@@VintageGameZ still have them
San Francisco Rush 2049 is STILL probably one of the N64 racing games I’ve spent the most time on ever.
BattleTanx: Global Assault (N64) is one of my all time favorites.
Two games that immediately spring to mind:
1) Mario Tennis, awesome game, very simple controls which actually enabled an amazing array of shots.
SILICON VALLEY! Awesome ! but like my #1 has to go to conkers bad fur day
Wasn't Blast Corps part of Rare Replay? So technically you can play it in HD!
Yeah, must've slipped Jason's mind. Can't blame him really, dudes got tons of games.
Turok #1 is still one one of my top 10 games of all time. Wish it would be updated.
I am so jealous!! Good that it found a safe place to stay!
I would get RUSH 2 - Stunt track music is awesome and growing up I spent way too much time playing that level. Overall, just another great Midway game for the late 90's. I would check it out.
PUMPED to see you highlight Iggy's! That game was so much of my childhood. Spent so many damn hours as a kid playing and racing.
Hah. Zero Hour has a special spot to me. First M rated game I bought without my parents consent, and my mom almost went and chewed out the guy at KB toys for selling the game to a 14 year old
That Zero Hour is running at Zero frames.
It’s still a great game once you get a grip of the controls!
Thank you for showing the Indiana Jones Game. I never knew it.
I see that your missing a few n64 games MJR (These are from my collection and there are still MOAR N64 games out there):
Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA
Rush 2049
007:The World is Not Enough
Mario Party 3
Pokémon Stadium 2
Megaman 64
NASCAR 2000
Knockout Kings 2000
WCW Mayhem
Conker’s Bad Fur Day
The Next Tetris
Mario Tennis
Space Station Silicon Valley? That Duck Dodgers Game?
Man, the N64 version of Forsaken is still a stunner.
It makes me sad that no one ever talks about Road Rash 64... I hope it gets a remaster some day
Road Rash 64 was so badass!!
I loved that one, with the expansion pack too
One of the most awesome things that could ever happen. My 16 year old son came to me last night found MJRs TH-cam channel. Told me I needed to start watching his channel. I had to tell him I have been watching MJR for at least 3 or 4 years already.
The algorithm somehow popped you in my feed and I must say when I saw this thumbnail, I was in awe of your nerdiness in the most endearing way possible.
I couldn’t click fast enough. I love this review. N64 is the best
@Winchester_BornIn1973 show-off. Feel better now?
The Duke has better frame rate if you turn off hirez mode.
Rush 2 is one of the funnest racers out there!!
Thanks for your work at SIERRA I'm 48 still playing games and remember your company's work on the IBM Aptiva. Keep rockin dude!!
Saw WCW NWO Revenge, but you need the other AKI wrestling games!
I loved playing banjo, glover and rocket robot on wheels as a kid.
Where do I get those awesome N64 end labels?
You can find it on ebay, there are several sellers. Or try to find the template and print them.
I got the labels from this dude: www.etsy.com/shop/SzabosArcades
@@MetalJesusRocks Yep, I have the same version, from the same seller, they work great and don't leave glue residue.
@MetalJesusRocks one of the sellers on ebay now has full label sets to include the cartridge variations and a label set for Japanese versions
Dan you should do a video with metal Jesus!
Rocket, underrated gem. I’ve never met someone in real life who knows this game. One of my favs
The New Tetris and Bust A Move 99 were my favorite puzzle games on the system.
You're an awesome dude MJR. -Space Station Silicon Valley is a cool and unique game. ...Yes, Indiana Jones is hard to find as it was a Blockbuster exclusive.
Every 64 collection requires Ogre Battle! Nice games though MJ.
You, sir, must be a Person of Lordly Caliber.
I loved the Duke nukem Game! We used to play that allmost as much as goldeneye!
Yup the multi-player was pretty sick!
MJR, your content means more than you know......Thanks for all the hard work in making these videos.
I appreciate that!
Man, halfway through this video and already I'm planning on digging out my N64. So many great games I completely forgot about!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for this😀
Love body harvest. Game was literally terrifying as a child lol.
The star wars games were amazing.
you can use the 2nd controller as a 2nd analog stick for this game, 1 controller per hand. 8:52
This was so cool to see all these! Especially Ocarina of Time! It has a special place in my heart and it’s just overall one of the best made games of all time!
I am SO glad I clicked on this video! The nostalgia has me smiling ear to ear.
It's Friday and a new MJR video too, awesome!!!
You know it!
Just bought a new n64 from japan, can't wait for it to arrive!
Where? How? I want one
@@proud90skid15 On ebay from a Japanese seller
Wish you gave a little love to the wrestling games on N64. I understand if you weren’t a fan, but a few of the most revered wrestling games of all time are on N64
My favorite wrestling games are the GameCube day of reckoning games
Wcw vs. Nwo world tour, and whatever the THQ wwf game was, were my favorite. My buddy also like raw/warzone of course too.
Slow and steady I keep building up my Super Nintendo, N64, Gameboy, PS2, and Xbox collections...💯✔
7:32 One of my fave games on the platform (other than the well known ones of course). I'm so glad you included this. It's a GEM!! The realistic physics were probably the first to be used in a console game.
Unfortunately they are ridiculously expensive now but Bomberman 2nd attack and Ogre Battle are some of the best games on the system! Have any desire to get them?
I don’t have that many n64 games (about 25) because there aren’t that many I want
Looks like you're missing the first Extreme-G (I think I saw the second one there). Definetely a good racing game.
And I have to agree with you about Duke Nukem Zero Hour. I really enjoy it (I have it with box and manual) but the control scheme is pure jank xD
Indiana Jones was a Blockbuster exclusive. Probably just a supply issue on the price, not nearly as many copies around.
