MetalJesusRocks do you know the price for snowboard board kids 2 if it's just the cartridge? I picked up a box of n64 games at a yard sale for a dollar and that was one of them.

John Hancock is a complete clown. Just listen to the hypocrisy in this video. One minute, he’s talking about how he doesn’t care about value and it’s not about the money. The next minute he brags about how expensive his Clay Fighter is and how he’s been “offered hundreds of dollars privately.” Do some research on his “museum” as well. He’s a snake looking to score for his personal collection…nothing more.
I know the N64 graphics didnt age well at all, especially on newer TVs, but I think I gotta give N64 the best console of all time. I will never feel like i felt the first time i turned on Mario 64...and the games just kept coming over the years.
Yeah Mario 64 was an experience that will never be duplicated. Also their are some games that are unplayable on new TVs. Doom 64 is so dark on new TVs that I can’t see anything

John Hancock is a saint. He deserves a lot of credit for all the preservation work he’s done. It really hasn’t been until collectors in this modern post real retro age and the digitization of games that people have been working so much to preserve games and more. I love that people love these games so much they work not just to collect them but to preserve them and their history. In the future in 20 years from now I think video game and digital media history will be of far more importance to society than it currently is. Your channel and videos like this will be looked back upon not only as time capsules but of the history of gaming. It may seem a bit niche or silly now but gaming is only getting bigger even in my lifetime. I am excited about gaming now, I was excited as a child with an NES and OG Gameboy and I’m excited for the future of gaming.
Conker's was the most common clearance game in 2001 or so. I remember seeing dozens of copies at different times clearanced for $10. I still can't believe it's considered "rare" for how many copies they made and didn't sell.
that's actually the point made in this vid. Conker's isn't rare. It's just very collectible and highly sought. Very similar to Earthbound, another game that isn't rare but became a cult classic and is now sought. Sculptors Cut is actually sort of rare.
Well for me, I have about 1300 total games in my collection, I don't have time to play all of them lol. Although if I do really want to play a certain cart, I simply avoid getting those sealed, like Conker's, that game is too good to keep one copy sealed, might as well sell it and get a really nice non sealed cib copy
I had to cut down on collecting games, I literally became addicted and it got to a point when I would buy stuff I don't need lol! I'm only going to buy games that I enjoyed playing in my past now

I had a hand in Stunt Racer 64. Just to let you know, yes, it was a rental-only title. Midway wasn't keen to push it hard at retail, I think, because it would compete with their internal SF Rush titles. That's just my ill-informed speculation, though, as I wasn't privy to biz talk. Trivia: The working name was Stunt Race 3000, or SR3K for short. Still would have preferred that, but it is what it is. :)

Good luck finding a complete Conker's Bad Fur Day copy here in Germany. Which I did. The guy that sold it didn't know about its value at all! :D I got it for about 40€ from a former friend. It's still in a good shape but probably lost a lot of its actual value. It's still my personal treasure.

That's the kind of mentality that could stick like new antique cars in demolition derbies because "they're meant to be enjoyed." Can't you afford to leave *some* copies brand new while playing the rest? Some people enjoy preserving things, they do.
I never enjoyed it. 4 player games I always always lost. I'm sure it was fun but my friends never told me how to actually play. Game pissed me off so much.

Thanks for the informative video. Had no idea the Worms Armageddon I bought for $15 from a rental store around 2001 is worth money. You guys just made my night! Heart was pounding when I went to go find it just now and saw that the box had the manual inside.
@@tdestroyer4780 get something like the Everdrive 64 (a "dummy cartridge" that accepts SD Cards with games on them that you can plug into an N64). Best of both worlds :)
Dude Beast Wars was awesome and it was because it actually made sense. The old Transformers didn't. Machines that transformed into machines? What's the point? Why not have a machine that provided the benefits of both a giant robot and a car? But with Beast Wars it made sense that they transformed into animals because they had to. It was hazardous to stay in robot mode too long while outside of their ship, due to all of the unstable energon. It was a survival mechanism. This meant they had to be much more strategic and tactful both for the characters in the show and with the writing. The show in general seemed much more cerebral. Beast Wars never got the praise (or game) it deserved.
I loved Beast Wars as a kid, I saw it before I knew it was different from Transformers. I know that sounds weird but that was the order I saw them. Anyway, since I didn't have the nostalgia for Transformers, I always thought the concept of beast wars was so cool and Transformers was lame anime. Seeing the N64 box is giving me flashbacks, Idt I ever played the game!
I recently found the exact cartridge of an n64 game i used to rent from Blockbuster 20 years ago. Still marked with the serial. Old score was still there!
This is where collecting to me becomes absurd. When you're worried about the H-lap on your shrink wrap and not getting the warranty card with everything else. I guess I just don't get the mindset.
This whole collecting for games you will never play is a waste of money. They pay hundreds of dollars so they can Just brag about it and let it sit on a shelf. They get their high from the act of collecting but once they finish collecting they move on to collecting other things. They make these videos to promote the value of their collection. You wouldn't even know it is valuable if not for these channels. But are they really that valuable? All these guys do is artificially inflate game prices and preying on the morons who believe their bs. Also they don't even make quality videos and they are asking for patreon money so you can fund their collection and vacations and other expenses.
Men, Im spanish, and indeed speak spanish, my english is so so, but MetalJesusRock, anytime you pronounce "Inmortal John Hancock" Im actually lisening INMORAL Jhon Hancock and I think what this dude do so bad, to be so INMORAL, just collect games for the shake of God!!!
emulators exist...the videos they run during the voiceovers are emulations...u can see def from Stunt Race 64 that the resolution's higher and it looks sharper than the original game does..they collect these unopened and play it on emulation or buy multiple copies like they said...the opened cartridge only ones that don't cost as much
Yeah collecting just for value is dumb. You spend time just preserving the item instead of enjoying it. Marveling at the item only lasts a week until you're sick if it. It's dumb and a waste of money.
Here's what I hate about Ebay, every time a seller list a game, they list it as "rare" just to make a sell! Yet, there's maybe 50 others of the same game listed. Also, (although I like these guys) it's videos like these, that make sellers put ridiculous prices for games, and to add, as they said in the video, then you get sellers who just reseal games, and claim that they are brand new! As for those of us, who just want to play a game, instead of just showcasing, and leaving them in a display case,...we're better off, just to download, and play off an emulator, than to pay outrageous prices!
Wait, what? My N64 copy of Worms Armageddon is rare? Let me check ebay... *checks ebay* HOLY BALLZ! No way! I still have the box and original manual, too. Today is my lucky day.
I'm happy to say I grew up with Stunt Racer 64 and it's still in perfect condition. This cart was not from BlockBuster and has no stickers because of it. Great video!
I'm not as picky as CIB's as you guys are. To me CIB is box, game and manual, and any other game specific material. Inserts, warranty cards or anything else is extra.
Yeah, man, I got some really lucky finds back in the day. Complete Earthbound at Best Buy for 3 bucks, complete Chrono Trigger for 2 from Media Play when they were going out of business. Got a lot of stuff from Blockbuster when they were liquidating in preparation for the next generation of stuff, too, like Clayfighter TE and Mario RPG for 2 bucks each. Found a still sealed Custer's Revenge years ago at a pawn shop. Guy didn't even know what it was. Guess how much? One. Dollar. Not braggin', I just kinda stumbled onto that stuff or totally got lucky.
Not only is Super Mario Bros my most prized possession, it's one of my rarest N64 games in my collection. Love love love singing along with its classic theme song - DAYTONAAAAAAAAA! LETS GO AWAY!
I've picked up 3 copies of conker at yard sales. 1 I got in a box of like 15 games including DK 64, paper Mario for $60. So those made it worth more then triple right out of the gate. Then I got 1 for $5 and 1 for $10. All out of box and the game goes $100-$120 on ebay
It's not crazy. They play all the games, just not the ones sealed in a box. He's keeping historical record for posterity. He has multiple copies of the games he can play. It's no different than collecting toys still in the box & never playing with them. People collect framed autographed sports jerseys they'll never wear. It's not that crazy.
It's cool to see all these old games in boxes. Nowadays, you just don't find those at all anymore - it's just the plastic clamshell with the game and MAYBE a manual inside, so unless you're going for the "collector's edition", that's all you get.
I seriously don’t understand the attraction to sealed games. That’s like buying a house and never opening the door. Games are meant to be played. Sealed copies make me sad.
I remember renting Worms armageddon all the time for a buck at the Blockbuster down the street. Wish i woulda bought the games before they closed down.
Clay Fighter 63 1/3 has a really cool history. Clay Fighter 64 was written about in Nintendo Power for months, prior to release. They showed characters like Lady Liberty and Lockjaw Pooch. When the game was released, they were nowhere to be found. And this was after a year long delay on the game. Sculptor's Cut added the characters back in as well as made some changes to the game, and we more or less got the game that was originally advertised.
I just went thru a divorce. My ex wife kept the house and everything else. The only thing I kept was my n64. I try to play thru Zelda OoT, Goldeneye 007 and Conker's bad fur day at least once a year. LoL.
don't forget to blow out any dust in those cartridges :D brings me back to a kid again man!!! everybody loves to talk about how they love old games but, hardly any of em actually play them! Goldeneye and Conker's were the best for 4-player couch session at the friends, real competitive gaming :D :D my friend owned a copy of the game and man oh man, we had a group of us and it was so much fun.
Eh..sounds like you made it off ok then. I've been playing a lot of N64 games to hold me over til RDR 2 comes out. Always gotta start with Mario 64, then Banjo...i just got done with paper mario and now im starting shadows of the empire.
Some are for playing, others are nice to just hold on to and keep brand new. You wouldn't paint a Clown Afro on the Mona Lisa, would you? Different example but I hope you get it.
@@maximkovac2000 a lot of collectors have seal version for collection and then buy just the game for playing. Plus some of these games are horrible and never going to be played, just there to complete the collection.
Collecting is about owning a piece of history, and you do it for a few reasons. 1. It's a rare item that not many people have. 2. Excellent conversation piece. 3. Worst case scenerio, you can resell it. 4. Swells you up with pride. Kinda of like people who get a signed football jersey and hang it up in their mancave. It makes them happy and they like showing it off.

I got my introduction to the Transformers from Armada and later Cybertron... Thank God I missed Energon. *Shudders*
kabob 007 I got an old Signalflare figure from that time, one of the few full sized transformers I own
Beast Wars was one of the shows that I would wake up early to watch before school. Didn't even know what Transformers was back in those days.
I recently found the exact cartridge of an n64 game i used to rent from Blockbuster 20 years ago. Still marked with the serial. Old score was still there!
That's seriously cool.
Of all the TH-cam gamer reviewers, Metal Jesus is the one I'd like to hang with the most. A solid dude all around!
Shout out to Al Borland!
I don't think so Tim.
Travis Robinson No. You are better.
Beat me to it!
I collect n64 games but I only buy games I actually want to play. Not into this never been opened idea. They were made to be played 😁
Agreed but I would want a conkers i could play and a conkers i could frame like holy grail 🙂
This is where collecting to me becomes absurd. When you're worried about the H-lap on your shrink wrap and not getting the warranty card with everything else. I guess I just don't get the mindset.
SilentMott yea they deffinetly get deep about the small details lol..I remember that snowboard kids game when I was a kid
I have no idea why anybody would pay hundreds of dollars for shrink wrap and warranty cards.
Also they don't even make quality videos and they are asking for patreon money so you can fund their collection and vacations and other expenses.
i think people just dont like to be lied to when making a purchase
Then don't worry about it. Collect how you want
I love these videos with John Hancock. Crazy story about how he ended up with a sealed version of Conker's Bad Fur Day
whats the point off having games if you never gonna play them or sell them im confused man?!?!?!?
Jae KiDd its called collecting
To stroke them and touch yourself and wonder why you dont have a girlfriend
@@christianhalstead2599 You sound like you're talking from experience...
emulators exist...the videos they run during the voiceovers are emulations...u can see def from Stunt Race 64 that the resolution's higher and it looks sharper than the original game does..they collect these unopened and play it on emulation or buy multiple copies like they said...the opened cartridge only ones that don't cost as much
Yeah collecting just for value is dumb. You spend time just preserving the item instead of enjoying it. Marveling at the item only lasts a week until you're sick if it. It's dumb and a waste of money.
METAL JESUS ROCKS!!!
I own Conker's Bad Fur Day! It is complete, too.
I am so happy for you, I am rubbing my Hidden Gems.
lucky!!
Me too with mint box 😆
same
I have it but no inserts or game manual
Conker bad fur... i still hail it as the game that made me a gamer for life.
John always has the craziest stuff. I think he might have the best collection on TH-cam.
Iwtlv true
Iwtlv no
Iwtlv there’s something about owning a physical copy which just feels good though.
Iwtlv why whould you be looking for a super rare game complete in the box if you just want to play it?
Iwtlv any games that are sealed from the 90s is very rare. Even if the games were garbage. Popular games sealed can be thousands.
Snowboard kids was my shit back in the day, I loved the sound effects and everything.
Wait, what? My N64 copy of Worms Armageddon is rare? Let me check ebay...
*checks ebay*
HOLY BALLZ! No way! I still have the box and original manual, too. Today is my lucky day.
haha, seriously though. The N64 version is crap compared to the PC version.
Yea lol
@Saturn Five This is 2018, not 2005. Oh well. Maybe $1 and a trade of other game items (depending) would work.
I paid £20 for it.
@@duckshepherd ill trade you fallout 76 and no mans sky disk only
I'm happy to say I grew up with Stunt Racer 64 and it's still in perfect condition. This cart was not from BlockBuster and has no stickers because of it. Great video!
Man! I bought that Conkers bad fur day In 2006 at a Marshall's cause it was 5 bucks, brand new. Long gone by now but what a trip
I'm not as picky as CIB's as you guys are. To me CIB is box, game and manual, and any other game specific material. Inserts, warranty cards or anything else is extra.
Same
The whole point of CIB is to be CIB. Lol
thats not cib, thats just a boxed copy haha
Hello (sorry for bad english)
Hi (sorry for horrible english)
Snow Owl Hi*
Romi Makkaroni Yo
Your terrible English ability offends me to my core!
your grammar gave me cancer..LMAO
I still think shadowman was a good game. Even on the N64 its was pretty fun and had a good story.
Creepy af on the level they had nursery rhymes playing....
What if you open the sealed game at one point and turns out its not even the correct game inside.
It is nice to see Bob Vila is still getting work.
Rocking the Opeth poster.......good man \m/
MJR, I would LOVE to see your thoughts on the Switch.
Isn't Starcraft pretty rare, too? I picked up both that and Conker years ago for next to nothing. Glad I did!
Dorelaxen I've been hunting Starcraft for years! Lucky devil!
One. Dollar. Not braggin', I just kinda stumbled onto that stuff or totally got lucky.
theres a factory sealed starcraft 64 at a local gamestore near me for 200 dollars. I really do want to pick that up lmao
GO its worth over 1000$ easy.
I still have a copy of StarCraft and Beast Wars. I must have picked them up during my Blockbuster days.
I'm from brazil, and i love your channel!! Greetings!
First time on this channel, the guy with a cap looks like Mario when smiling
People buying games and never playing them....crazy stuff.
Stupid stuff.
@@Vegasguy79 not the sealed ones!
@@pat3658 they just said reseal them
Brad Jackson
Not, they literally said the opposite
It's not crazy. They play all the games, just not the ones sealed in a box. He's keeping historical record for posterity. He has multiple copies of the games he can play.
It's no different than collecting toys still in the box & never playing with them. People collect framed autographed sports jerseys they'll never wear. It's not that crazy.
It's cool to see all these old games in boxes. Nowadays, you just don't find those at all anymore - it's just the plastic clamshell with the game and MAYBE a manual inside, so unless you're going for the "collector's edition", that's all you get.
Conkers bad fur day was common as hell, literally every kid in my school had it
"I've been offered privately a lot of money" Reminds me of those facebook updates with girls venting but then not wanting to talk about it hahaha
"Hey y'all! im ok and thankful to all my real friends. Why are men dirt?"
I seriously don’t understand the attraction to sealed games. That’s like buying a house and never opening the door. Games are meant to be played. Sealed copies make me sad.
That's for preservation. You wouldn't sleep in Hitler's fucking house if you could, right?
One day I wanna be on this channel :P
Lol XD hue
Dang man how many subs did you have when this first started?!?!?
Or how many when you posted this rather??
This is crazy, I bought stunt racer back in 2010 or 2011 for like $10. I can't believe it's a rare game! :o
I remember renting Worms armageddon all the time for a buck at the Blockbuster down the street. Wish i woulda bought the games before they closed down.
WHATS IN THE BOOOX
Worms isnt nothing like lemmings lol
Indeed, Worms is much more like an Artillery variant than a puzzle game.
He was probably thinking of liero
You are right, Worms was a remake of "Scorched Earth" on PC.
More! This is awesome!
it would be nice if you show all stuff what it has inside, like first one.
Neurocode01 it would be but to do that, he would have to unseal his games and that would a catastrophe
Neurocode01 what is?
OH
Beast Wars Transmetals looks amazing, that's a sick game man. I've never even heard of it!!
LoL.
WEAPON X Daniel Byrd You had a shitty lawyer.
don't forget to blow out any dust in those cartridges :D brings me back to a kid again man!!!
everybody loves to talk about how they love old games but, hardly any of em actually play them!
Goldeneye and Conker's were the best for 4-player couch session at the friends, real competitive gaming :D :D
my friend owned a copy of the game and man oh man, we had a group of us and it was so much fun.
Eh..sounds like you made it off ok then. I've been playing a lot of N64 games to hold me over til RDR 2 comes out. Always gotta start with Mario 64, then Banjo...i just got done with paper mario and now im starting shadows of the empire.
Exploder exactly what I was thinking...
The world is not enough is amazing. GoldenEye is classic but twine is better
This information is useless to me without prices and appraised values.
Is collecting with repro boxes a bad idea? Should I go og boxes
HyperL0c K all depends on what you’re going for
Jon Hancock is a video game legend.
Conkers blew my mind when it came out. So good. Here's to the Opera Poo monster!
i bought it when it first came out but never really got into it, traded it in a few days later.
Sealed in box is stupid cause you can't play the game.
People dont buy sealed games for playing them. Only for their collection
Bence onee-sama isn't that just the opposite of what games are made for? Honestly, that's just a waste of Money if you don't even plan on playing it
Some are for playing, others are nice to just hold on to and keep brand new.
Every rare game I ever had was stolen by my "Friends." I'd love to know you guys as irl friends cause God knows I need trust worthy people in my life now.
Wait how did they 'steal' them? Just go over to their houses and steal them back
That's not friends buddy
John Hancock murdered my father.
Wow, Stunt Racers price is insane in 2021!
$500 cart only
$1700 CIB
$5000 New
