Update: Had the 1000 service and the oil pressure switch was broken so i had to leave the bike at the shop (ktm ofcourse lol) but i didn't have to pay for it and i still really love the bike 🔥‼️💯 i also offroad it a little👻
They do but it’s the extra cost and if you add to a budget bike it will be uncompetitive to other bikes in the class. You pay your money and choose what you want.
At first I really didn't like the face-lift from the precious gen but looking at it up close its really grown on me. I think it's still one of the best looking bikes on the market. Love that sort of naked cyberpunk look.
Picking up new Svart 401 next Monday as my first bike :) Bro, thanks for showing that quad lock phone mount, wasn't sure what to buy and now you made my choice :D Looks great in landscape mode on svart, like some fancy 2 layer car infotainment :D Just ordered handlebar mount pro, anti vibration mount and usb wireless charging mount for my Samsung, 178€ in total with discount. Used your code and also mentioned you in survey after purchase :)
I’ve got a quad lock in my Toyota….dont even have a bike but I’m thinking about one of these soon. The quad lock is fantastic and I love the case too, worth the money for wireless charging in the FJ but I’m not sure about on the bike due to weather but to each their own
Bought one of these a fortnight ago, very nice feeling. It rides on rough roads without noticing bumps and patches. The acceleration is brisk, and the seating position is comfortable. One question: how to connect navigation? I never got it.
If that's true the fact that you have to hold the throttle open for the cruise control to work is ridiculous. That is a 100% engineered limitation that doesn't need to be there.
@@E.after.D.I.am.T.H right. But that means it has all of the parts and electronic system to be a cruise control. It even has the right buttons. It's being artificially kneecapped into what it is.
I have the previous model and I think all the improvements are great. Here is a couple more I noticed, the mirrors are now wide enough to see past your shoulders. The previous mirrors were very narrowly mounted. You can check and top up the coolant without having to remove the right side cover which you have to on mine.
Nice vid. Prefer the Vitpilen personally but both are pretty cool, fun bikes for a reasonable price. I think the Vitpilen would also look great with a retro headlight racer fairing.
The specs and details which we CAN see on the net, are one thing, the other is - the things we CAN NOT see - such as LIGHT AMOUNT / POWER. As I've mentioned before - it is YOU - moto-vloggers / testers / reviewers... who CAN test these things, since YOU get bikes for several days.... Ordinary people DON'T get to test the light, before they purchase the bike !!! So pretty please, with sugar on top - TEST THE FUCKEN LIGHTS - BOB ! 🤨 Service information is ALSO, pretty ESSENTIAL - for most of the MC buyers. People don't often remember ( as they get astonished by the looks of the bikes ) to acquire this information BEFORE they buy the bike ! For example : I've seen SO MANY tests of the CB500X, but NO ONE told anything about its' SHITTIEST front light ! - Is it SOOOOOO hard to provide a USEFUL testing / information ??!!
SOOO glad I hunted down a 2022 - 23 version. I considered waiting a little longer but the previous bike looks so much better ( to me ). If you dig this one, though, the Svartpilen is a blast!
Nice bike, but the exhaust is awful, an Akrapovich one would be much better, and probably it would be possible to save 1 or even 2 kg. The footpegs need to be changed, they are really bad. I would like 19' wheels instead of 17' ones. About the price... the tendency of bike, car manufacturers is taking advantage of the customers and in this case they clearly did it; nothing else to say. Thank you for the video!
How is £5.5k a reasonable price for a 400cc motorcycle?? 🤔 I have a feeling the reviewers are not only accepting this trend but also encouraging the OEMs to charge us higher prices for lesser motorcycles. 0:34
I like it at it is, and yes, different, more road oriented tires will be better. But I am already considering as my next light bike. Surely very good for the twisties
These reviews, omitting the service parts availability problems with KTM, does a disservice to potential buyers. I own a 2022 Svart which I purchased new. I’ve repeatedly waiting for extremely long periods of time for parts. I’ve been waiting for six months for a defective radiator fan to be replaced. KTM couldn’t care less. I waited a month for an oil filter. I’m still waiting for other parts that are less critical going on a year now. A bike that has defects and can’t be repaired is completely useless.
Love the looks of the bike, I bought a Kawasaki Dominar it basically has the same motor ,only three spark plugs for the big single. Most bikes this size I usually install riser for the handlebars at 6ft 32 inches inseam . When I get back to the States I will have to test ride this bike. But in the Philippines I ride the Baja-Kawasaki Dominar , which Baja Auto makes these same motors for KTM with little tweaks here and there. Thank you Bob
it looks sick. i'd buy it just for that. the only downside is reading about ppl who've owned it and having to wait months for parts and issues with the ECU and battery, etc. the maintenance costs and parts availability just isn't worth the investment, unless you have multiple bikes and can afford to keep all of them insured and running while one of them is in the shop
Much tech has filtered down from dirt bikes to mountain bikes but spoked tubeless rims have been standard issue for high spec MTBs for many years now, wondering why that hasn't filtered upwards?
Even middle of the road MTB models are tubeless now and the popularity in MTB circles even convinced the slow on the uptake roadies to go tubeless. They are still mumbling about disc brakes (crazy MAMILs) but seem to like tubeless.
I have the last year of the gen 1 Austrian made ones, been a great bike for the most part and the new one is growing on me feel they have done a better job with this one then the 801 that sucks compared to the older style 701
The styling reminds me of my old 1982 Yamaha RD350LC 2-stroke. Similar horsepower and torque too. Hmmm, has me thinking about reliving my youth :) At 1:13 in the video, the tire label says, "Tubeless". What's with that? Cheers!
As a true motorcycle guy how the f*** do you do a "review" thats a quarter of an hour of yammering without ever firing the thing up so we can hear the engine and exhaust?
The 2024 Svartpilen 401 in India only has 4 on each side for compression and rebound i.e. if 2 is mid it can only move 2 on each side +/-. Rear suspension's rebound also have only 4 clicks, can anyone else with 2024 Svart 401 confirm this ?

Interesting that it undercuts the price of KTM's version by quite a bit (especially once you add the optional quick-shifter to the KTM) but Husqvarna's new 801 is far costlier than a Duke 790 (?).
Tbh, with the issues from the first one, not really sure if I'm excited with the new one's quality. It's like you have to spend more to make the bike usable. Don't want random stalling while having a more rideable bike, buy fuelx. Want a more audible exhaust (the last one was so silent, I almost got sideswiped), but a new slip on exhaust. Not being critical by any means, my friend. But this is the second comment I've seen from a new-rider where the electronic package on this excellent riding bike seems to be the main attraction. Maybe the Husqvarna designers have hit the right button?
Visual-wise, previous gen hits the sweet spot better than current one. But the specs upgrades are very absolutely welcomed. I was a Husqvarna fan, and still am. Can't say it's a bang for the bucks, seeing as their pricing in my country (Malaysia) makes it so that they are having a hard time to compete with its direct competitors. All in all, a great bike which I'll get my hands on it if I can afford it lol.
we need to stop calling the rear shock damping adjuster as just a "rebound" adjuster.... because it's actually affecting both rebound and compression...
The new version is great, more functional, but still mostly the same fun engine. I think the old one did look a loooootttt better. But given the improvements, new one will have to do. I do wish it had a just so slightly larger tank, a 4 gallon would be amazing. I mean its already such a small and light bike, a bigger tank won't hurt. A man can dream. while it is undoubtedly better than previous gen, the previous gen looked unique. this one looks like just another bike... the overall package seems to be great for the price though
How does the seat feel? The previous version had an absolutely horrible seat that felt like sitting on a Lego. I was ready to buy it, but I couldn’t guarantee I could ride it for more than a few minutes.
I like they made the engine larger and the bike longer. I looks like a proper bike now. Made me consider it, though I don't really like that is sort of sounds like a lawnmower.
I'm still looking on the used market for a first bike, but if I don't find anything I like, it's between the 2024 Svartpilen & the Speed 400 I think. Planning on giving them both a test ride sometime soon. This new model looks a lot better than the previous one imo. The features on the dash are pretty compelling as well.
The Svart should have a 19" front.
With the option of tubeless rims.
as someone who did 30% of mileage offroad on a 401 2019, I can totaly agree.
Bought this bike two weeks ago and im so excited when i get my licence to actually drive it😱😂🔥💯🔥💯🔥( its my first bike)

Why don't companies provide tubeless spoked wheels as standard?
Cost.
Cost, design cost because of patents of other methods.
