I’ve got a Schipperke & they call the “little black devils”. They look like a miniature black fox 🦊 crossed with a miniature black wolf 🐺 with a fruit bat 🦇 thrown in. He is my treasure. Plus I’ve always adored black dogs & calico cats. However I also had a handicapped blue furred cat with green eyes who was truly an earth angel.

I share my life with a Cane Corso. He fits perfectly with our family,activities and we continue his socialization trained him daily. He's been the best working breed for us.

@@b.2221 my Cane Corso is 4 1/2 years old and there isn't a day that goes by that I'm thankful for my dog. My CC's best friend was our cat that passed away. She was 24 yrs old,yep, she was 24 years old. His other playmate is across the street, a retired K-9 officer,German Shepherd and a Frenchie.
@@b.2221cane corso can be pretty chill whereas the presa for example is going to be a much more of a handful to live with. We’ve got a Rottweiler and baby on the way so we’ve got his old crate back out for when babies on the ground definitely not going to be shoving the baby in his face and forcing them to interact we’ll take it slow slow get him used to co existing with a new family member.

I really liked the black Cane Corso. That would be an awesome dog to share my life with someday. I currently have a Bloodhound/Rottweiler mix, a Doberman Pinscher, a champagne colored German Shepherd and big black German Shepherd mixed with Lab, Husky and Malamute. He's the biggest pansy too. lol The Rottie hound is also the sweetest boy and loves everyone. The other two are females and they're the ones strangers should be careful of! Always on alert but friendly with nice people after introduced. Love them! Thank you for the fun video. :)

Very interesting video Anneka. Have you heard of a supernatural creature from English folklore simply known as the Black Dog? It is said to be of unnaturally large size with glowing red or yellow eyes, often associated with the Devil, and is sometimes an omen of death. It is known throughout the UK with names like Barghest in Yorkshire and Black Shuck in East Anglia.
Unfortunately in Edmonton, Alberta, 2 Cane Corso's killed a 12 yr old boy. Very sad, haven't heard much about the owner. Poor kid and poor dogs

First time seeing a black Malinois
While I was watching I was thinking about the Newfie. Enormous and black and very intimidating but they’re in fact the sweetest dog breed to exist.
Maybe if this was a top 10 that breed could have been 9 or 10. 😂
I'm happy to take the Black Cane Corso, Black Presa Canario, Borz Hound or Black Wolfdog. Sorry for the Malinois but too much physical and mental energy. For me a dog weighs at least 45kg and has to be protective by nature, then all that's left to do is a minimum of education and a lot of love.
I really love your videos, which are always accurate and full of kindness towards dogs and wolves.

I own a very large all black Borzoi, people are always afraid because he’s huge and intimidating. Yet he’s the biggest softy when you actually meet him. But he definitely looks other worldly.

Don't get me wrong, standard poodles from the right lines can be great pets and good protection dogs, but very few people are going to be intimidated by a poodle. Other than their size they lack any real intimidating characteristics.
There also a Turkish breed called "Haymana Karası", which has mostly black color except some spots.
Does anyone know if their is any Borz Hounds in the UK yet
The blue (and black) Thai Ridgeback Dogs are larger than the Xolo; so I would have put them on this list instead.

You climb the wall, but Malinois can climb the wall 😳 too, and a ladder, and a fence, and have the energy to do it for hours without tiring. I have a MalxGSD mix. Think size of a large GSD with Mal body and energy.

It's surprising that the Thai ridgeback that Anneka mentioned awhile back doesn't come in black. It would've been perfect. It has a very unsettling appearance with it's limited coat with slight wrinkles.
And then there is the late Ghengis Khan. Documented as a black wolf that seemed to be the smartest wolf that ever lived.

Forgot the iconic original devil dogs the Rottweilers portrayed as dogs controlled by Damian the devil’s son in The Omen
Malinois range from 50-70 pounds they are Shepherds with 20 cups of pure caffeine in them. However they are small & while most medium -large breed dogs are in the 200 plus psi bite force they are only 195 so not a very powerful bite. Rottweiler 325 psi doberman surprisingly 620 but most in the 200.
