I rescued my Wolfdog puppy from hanging by the neck on the Navajo Rez. They were crossing Mexican Gray Wolves and Rottie's to sell and he was the runt. He bore the scar his whole life. He was beautiful boy. I had rescued Bully breeds for many years so I was capable of taking him. He grew into an intelligent, mindful boy that occasionally did his own thing. For instance, we lived in a cabin in the middle of the woods in Arkansas for 5 years, no one else there. Then a couple built a home just over the ridge. Then they proceeded to get every kind of fowl imaginable even a turkey named Bob. Believe it or not Rex would eat his breakfast and go over there every morning never once touching Bob or the others. He stole an egg once and Miss Vicki told him no but instead gave him his very own egg. He was amazing beyond words. I lost him to cancer at 9. I now rescued a Husky pup. OMG!! I read the breed and TH-camd everything I could but noting prepares you this breed! Wow! I couldn't figure her out for awhile, then finally sitting on the loo it hit me...she's as feral as can be! Loves to play, won't come top you, can't potty train her, can't keep her fenced (knew that), highly intelligent and all around precious pain in the heinie! I have 2 1/2 acres and she generally stays in it unless she's hunting...VERY PREY DRIVEN! Or someone is walking by the fence she will walk behind them to the edge of the property. Most defiantly not a dog du jour as it has become due to it's beauty. That's why there are so many in the pound. People are not aware of what they buy and the dog pays the price. She's still a pup, I have faith she'll calm down, well a bit. Her name is Faith sooo...love your conservation group. I will look into it. I have 5 dogs at the moment!
Ohooo yes I can empathize with you about both your wonderful wolf dog. Also you uh husky. I have a greyhound Siberian husky mix. Wow the most challenging dog I've ever had. She had over a hundred acres to hunt in when she was young. It was almost enough for her. She had to do laps around the house before she could focus on eating her breakfast. Would not ever do anything I told (and trained) her to do. Would snatch good from my hand or moth if she were allowed to get close to me when I ate. Sorry to say only thing she respected was a chain training collar and a dressage whip. I now understand why the head of the fox hounds carried a long whip to control the hounds. Once she sees me reaching forca stick of any sort she immediately calms down and does as she's told. Awful way to live but honest it was the only way I could live with her in the house. Biggest drama queen clipping her unbelievable claws. She's over ten and it's taken that long to come to an agreement with her on most things. It's the DNA and no getting over those feral instincts. She's a sweetheart in every other way but she just had to learn how to 'cool her jets' around humans. She's an awesome loyal guard companion.
Lol I’m someone who’s always had feisty little chihuahuas. But last year I realised their prices have gone from 500 to 5000, so I couldn’t get one. I adopted the smallest dog I could afford who turned out to be a smooth fox terrier. Well, 1.5 years later I’m paying 3000 for reinforced doors and windows because she turned out to be a bouncing kangaroo who kept punching out the screens! And sooooo soooo food motivated OMGoodness. Lovely dog though, very much a dog dog, rather than a cranky thing. She’s a sweet, jumping, silly sausage. 🥰

I love the fact that you don't sugar coat everything. As a former professional groomer I've seen far too many people owning dog breeds that they have no business owning. Whether it's because of grooming requirements, conflict of activity level, or dogs who need a strong but fair leader with someone who gives no correction what so ever. I've seen so many people who clearly did not do their research before getting a particular breed, especially when it comes to the "designer breeds". Not every dog breed is a good match for every type of person.
There is something really primal in the eyes of this dog, it's like they know your soul, my rough collie is very much her own dog and does her own thing, not overly fond of fussing unless she is in the mood, we call our little dire wolf! her coat is about 4 inches thick, this wolf dogs coat is fabulous, and a beautiful colour, thanks for showing us xx

The recall/car thing is the Malamute 100%. Girl if you happen to read this as someone with a malamute, it's all about what they WANT to do. My malamute has amazing recall...as long as she can't see me.... Like I literally hide behind trees and stuff or walk AWAY from her. If you make things a game it's way easier to get them to do what you want. If she can see me she just looks at me like an idiot if I call her to me. "Like, im right here whats the point? I think I want to go the other way actually." But if she hears me call her from across the dog park she'll run the length of a football field find me hiding behind a tree... Because it's a fun game. They also get bored easily. So constantly going a different direction... Especially the OPPOSITE direction they WANT to go to will make them more likely to follow you off lead. Like subconsciously tricking them to do what you want to do because it's actually more fun then what they want to do. That being said I have to carry my 70 lb dog every time we leave the dog park. She knows my car and if we go anywhere near it she becomes an immovable dead weight who's legs no longer work. Still haven't figured that one out. 😂
She's showing a lot of female malamute traits. She reminded me so much of my Cleo unfortunately she died 2 months ago. It took me 4 years there stubborn dogs i've had 2 but she always walked at my side after the training of the lead. It's not that they can't be taught you just have to have a lot of patience.
I miss my Wolfdog so very much, loyalty, companionship and adventure. That was our short 12 years together living outside a small mountain town in CO, hiking, camping and living free roaming the Rockies together. Someone had set him free in a National Park probably thinking he would take to nature and survive....he was captured begging for food in a campground. I still get a lump in my throat remembering him and that was over 20 years ago.

Phoenix looks a lot like my late furball. Phoenix is much more red though. Mine had near perfect recall. (to me only) She was an escape artist, and would wander around town when I was at work. She would not come to anyone including the dog catcher. I heard numerous reports of the dog catcher chasing her back into my yard. (through a recently dug hole). She was skidish with strangers and would become overwhelmed fairly easily. As much as I loved her, I don't recommend getting a wolfdog.
That was truly wonderful. Thank you for the constant deepening of awareness about the dynamic and sometimes complex wolf dog. Phoenix is stunning! The dedication to these beautiful creatures is inspirational. There is nothing quite like the soul connection and bond between a human and the dog they choose to care for, love, protect and share their life with. This is one I will return to often. Howling resonates with and ignites our deeply primal selves. I adore the way Ocean and Phoenix were totally comfortable with each other. Treasured moments captured forever. Thank you 🙏🐺❤️🐺❤️
We have red wolves on my land in NM. Some say they are Wolfe and coyote mixed. But boy are they special, and I see them every once in a while, and they are not solo like folks say they are here in NM, we have a little pack of like 5-6 it was only one at the start. I believe they are enclosed on our land, and we try to keep the perimeters secure but hunters no dirtbags not hunters like to take off other land instead of buying and prepping there own

Phoenix is gorgeous but not suitable for most people because of the wolf content. They should get a German Shepherd or Czech Wolfdog that are domesticated breeds with a predictable temperament and are biddable. True wolfdogs require a lot effort, time and attention to raise and keep in the right home. That said, firewolf Phoenix is the most beautiful wolfdog I’ve ever seen and she earned her legions of devoted fans! 😊
I disagree. I have a Czechoslovakian wolfdog who is way more guarded and unfriendly than a low content American wolfdog due to the high amount of German shepherd content. Czechoslovakian wolfdogs were bred to be army guard dogs and she’s taken A LOT of work in public to stop her showing teeth etc. Phoenix and ocean do not have guarding tendencies so sweeter to people
You are absolutely right. Phoenix killed our puppy last week in our own backyard. Owner failed to let anyone know Phoenix was part wolf- said “Shepard” type. And she killed our puppy!!! Everyone needs to be aware even if someone seems like a great owner… you cannot take away wolf instincts.

Clone-an organism or cell, or group of organisms produced asexually from one ancestor or stock, to which they are genetically identical. Let me explain because you're clueless. Asexual means not needing a male and female. They take the DNA from one such as they did with Lucy the Lamb and recreate by "growing" it's DNA. They essentially create the same being. Might I add it's flawed and they had tremendous issues with Lucy. A Hybrid is just as I said when you integrate several different breeds sexually to create a specific breed such as the Labradoodle. Did any of this sink in?

So technically there’s nothing wrong in calling them Clones. Also Wolfdogs are a breeding of WolfdogxWolfdog and WolfdogxDog which is called “Multigenerational Breeding” meaning they are not Hybrids. Wolfdogs being hybrids has been debunked so many times by the Wolfdog Community itself.

Definitely a beautiful wolfdog. However, I myself would never own a wolfdog. However, I would love to own a dog or two someday. Yet it would be neat to see what a cross between a Keeshond and Australian Cattle Dog would look like.
You have to be a very experienced dog owner of big, difficult breeds. Bully breeds like Rotties, pitties, Germán Shepard's, Mastiff's heck even Chihuahua's who have an apple head and the rage of 40000 men (plagiarized) and more than one. If you can't handle these don't try a Wolfdog. They are beautiful but not for beginners. I have had 15 dogs over 30 years, mostly bully breeds and one Wolfdog. Then I rescued a Husky. I read everything about them. It's called read the breed, yet nothing prepared me for her. My Wolfdog was cake next to her. She is beautiful CHAOS!!! Beware what you do. There are soooo many in the pound because everybody wanted the dog du jour and they are hard. Please think hard about it, please for the dogs sake.
Well she failed at that! Phoenix killed our puppy last week in our own backyard! You cannot take out the wolf instincts. Her dog opened her front door and got out of the house.. into our backyard.. and mauled our 8 month old chihuahua.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course, so these are very beautiful but i.m.h.o. no match for the european Wolfdog especially the Dutch Saarloos which were not bred for looks but only for health and behavior but are extremely elegant. At least in the eye of this beholder…our Saarloos even smells like 💐 Thanks for the video!

Czechoslovakian wolfdogs were bred to be army guard dogs and she’s taken A LOT of work in public to stop her showing teeth etc. Phoenix and ocean do not have guarding tendencies so sweeter to people
You are absolutely right. Phoenix killed our puppy last week in our own backyard. Owner failed to let anyone know Phoenix was part wolf- said “Shepard” type. And she killed our puppy!!! Everyone needs to be aware even if someone seems like a great owner… you cannot take away wolf instincts.

Clone-an organism or cell, or group of organisms produced asexually from one ancestor or stock, to which they are genetically identical.
Let me explain because you're clueless. Asexual means not needing a male and female. They take the DNA from one such as they did with Lucy the Lamb and recreate by "growing" it's DNA. They essentially create the same being. Might I add it's flawed and they had tremendous issues with Lucy. A Hybrid is just as I said when you integrate several different breeds sexually to create a specific breed such as the Labradoodle. Did any of this sink in?

@@sylviayoung1901The owner paid lots of money to have “Willow” AKA “Wanderwithwillow” in the results Phoenix and her other 5 Clones Siblings. So technically there’s nothing wrong in calling them Clones.
Also Wolfdogs are a breeding of WolfdogxWolfdog and WolfdogxDog which is called “Multigenerational Breeding” meaning they are not Hybrids. Wolfdogs being hybrids has been debunked so many times by the Wolfdog Community itself.
I loves wolves but Ocean & Phoenix are really special, very beautiful styles. I love them both, very unique.

Definitely a beautiful wolfdog. However, I myself would never own a wolfdog. However, I would love to own a dog or two someday. Yet it would be neat to see what a cross between a Keeshond and Australian Cattle Dog would look like.

You have to be a very experienced dog owner of big, difficult breeds. Bully breeds like Rotties, pitties, Germán Shepard's, Mastiff's heck even Chihuahua's who have an apple head and the rage of 40000 men (plagiarized) and more than one. If you can't handle these don't try a Wolfdog. They are beautiful but not for beginners. I have had 15 dogs over 30 years, mostly bully breeds and one Wolfdog. Then I rescued a Husky. I read everything about them. It's called read the breed, yet nothing prepared me for her. My Wolfdog was cake next to her. She is beautiful CHAOS!!! Beware what you do. There are soooo many in the pound because everybody wanted the dog du jour and they are hard. Please think hard about it, please for the dogs sake.

Well she failed at that! Phoenix killed our puppy last week in our own backyard! You cannot take out the wolf instincts. Her dog opened her front door and got out of the house.. into our backyard.. and mauled our 8 month old chihuahua.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course, so these are very beautiful but i.m.h.o. no match for the european Wolfdog especially the Dutch Saarloos which were not bred for looks but only for health and behavior but are extremely elegant. At least in the eye of this beholder…our Saarloos even smells like 💐 Thanks for the video!
