Do you know from where the term "Palestinian" comes from? Let me introduce you the origins. There are two explanations for this word. First you should know that this term was not mentioned in the old testament, nor in the new testament. It is also not mentioned in the Koran. Some will say, wait, but what is with the so called biblical Philister? The biblical Philister are not related with the so called Palestinians. The term Palestinians is not mentioned in any holy scripture. The only bible version that use the name Palestina is the King James Bible. There was never a Palestinian Arab independent country. Can you tell me who was the King or President of a Palestinian independent land before Arafat? Right, there was no country before. Go to Museums worldwide and you find Jewish history. Go to Ramallah Museum and you find nothing. The Philister was a sea nation that came from the Aegean Sea and was related to the Greeks. They settled between Gaza and Ashdod and they have no connections to the Arabs, which have their origins in the Arab Peninsula. Thats a fact. So any connection between the ancient (Greek) Philister and the modern (Arab) Palestinians is fabricated and nonsense. And if there was any connection (which is not) then the only place that the Arab could demand as their "homeland" would be only the shores between Gaza and Ashdod. So let us go a little bit deeper. The origin of the Word Palestina.
There are two explanations that are scientifical proved.
Let start with the first one:
The origin of the word Palestine comes from the Greek word παλαιστής = palaistís = wrestler. This description for the Holy Land was used the first time by the famous Greek historian Herodotus 484 - c. 425 BC. Herodotus used this name for Israel. Why?
      Ok, lets go deeper...
Why would Herodotus basically name this place “Land of Wrestlers” ? Because the Jews named their own land "Land who Wrestled with God"......Wait you will say. What are you talking about???.
But let me explain how Herodotus translated the Hebrew word "Israel" one to one into Greek.
      Genesis 32:24 & 28
So Jacob was left alone, and a man WRESTLED [אָבַק - wrestle. Related to the word that means fine powdery dust - אָבָק] with him till daybreak ..Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob [עִקְּבֵי heel, figuratively supplanter. see Gen 3:15], but ISRAEL, because you have struggled [שָׂרָה - contend, persist] with God and with humans and have prevailed.” ISRAEL means "who WRESTLED with God"
Herodotus translated this decription of the Land of Israel into the Greek word Παλαιστίνῃ which means Land of Wrestlers.
But why he not used a more precise description to translate Israel into Greek like "Land of the Wrestlers who wrestled with God" ???? You have to understand that Herodotus was part of the hellenistic culture and the ancient Greek religion. They had a lot of different Gods. So with which God the Jews wrestled? It was not an Greek God. it would make no sense to mention a God that was not part of the Greek Gods. It only would confuse the Greeks. So he only translated it into "The land of the wrestlers".
Let us see the second explaination for the Word Palestine. like I mentioned before, the Philisters settled between Gaza and Ashdod and was a foreign nation that came from the shores of the Aegean Sea. This part of land was populated by this sea people that where named by the Israelites "Paleshet"!!! .... The English term Philistine comes from Old French Philistin; from Classical Latin Philistinus; from Late Greek Philistinoi; ultimately from Hebrew Pəlištî (פלשתי‎; plural Pəlištîm, פלשתים‎), meaning 'person of Pəlešet (פלשת‎)'. But what means Paleshet in Hebrew??? The root verb of the name is ‘pa•lash,’ which means ‘invader,’ intruder’. So the Israelites called this Aegean sea nation "Intruder/Invader". I am not sure if the Arabs who using this term Palestinians really like to be called Invaders but thats what it means.
In both cases the name is showing
      a. that the word Palestine is the greek translation of the core root of the word "Israel" or
      b. it is naming the so called Palestinians (who are not related to the ancient Philister) "INTRUDER".
Intruder is not a bad description for our times too, if you understand that the Arab population is natively from the Arab Peninsula and conquered the Middle East and destroyed and occupied not only the Holy Land but the lands of many nations. Who remembers the Chaldeans? Who are the native inhabitants of Iraq and who are today a persecuted minority in their own land. Who are remembering the Assyrians/Arameans who are the native people of the region Syria and Lebanon and who are today a persecuted minority. Who are talking about the Copts in Egypt who are the real descendants of the former Egyptian population and are persecuted by the Muslim Arabs today. Who is talking about the Berbers in Marocco? Should I go further? Who is talking about the Maronites in Lebanon which is today a minority and which was the majority in Lebanon. I can recall a lot of nations that were occupied and destroyed by Arab intruders and conquerors. The Arab are the foreigners and intruders of the Middle East. Jews are the one and only native group in the Middle East that could return its homeland back. Jews are not occupiers of their own ancestral land. Would you say that the Indians are not the native Americans? Like the Indians are native to North America, the Jews are the natives of the Holy Land. The Jews are the real owners of all Israel (Judea, Samaria, Galilee, the Judean desert and Negev). No one would say that Indians are not the natives of the USA and Canada. But when Jews are demanding their homeland and fighting back the whole world start to scream at us. The Jews never left their homeland. Yes, there was everytime a Jewish present. Yes, we were maybe a minority in our own homeland. Yes, the majority lived outside of our homeland. Yes, we returned back again. Yes, we will not go away anymore. Swallow it.
Fact is that Palestine is not Arab. Fact is that Jews are the natives of this part of land like Assyrians, Chaldeans, Copts, Berbers, Arameans and other nations are natives of their lands. Fact is that the Arabs are the natives from the Arab Peninsula. Fact is that the Koran say that Israel belongs to the Jews.
But there are Muslim scholars who will tell you that this claim has no basis in the Koran: not only that, but the foundation text of Islam, in fact, recognises the special link between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel. “You will find very clearly,” says Sheikh Dr Muhammad Al-Husseini, “that the traditional commentators from the eighth and ninth century onwards have uniformly interpreted the Koran to say explicitly that Eretz Yisrael has been given by God to the Jewish people as a perpetual covenant. There is no Islamic counterclaim to the Land anywhere in the traditional corpus of commentary.”
The Quran states: (5:21) “Moses said to his people: O my people! Remember the bounty of God upon you when He bestowed prophets upon you, and made you kings and gave you that which had not been given to anyone before you amongst the nations. O my people! Enter the Holy Land which God has written for you, and do not turn tail, otherwise you will be losers.”
Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabari (838-923), who says the remark is “a narrative from God… concerning the saying of Moses… to his community from among the children of Israel and his order to them according to the order of God to him, ordering them to enter the holy land.”
Nowhere does the Quran make mention of the Muslims’ claim to the Holy Land. Instead, God reveals in the Quran that The Holy Land is designated for the followers of Moses. Because the Promised Land is theirs according to the Quran, only the followers of Moses may determine where their capital must lie.

    Shalom, Salam, Peace.
    Quran [Last Testament]:
    1. "The heavens and the earth were joined together as one unit, before We clove them asunder" (21:30). Following this big explosion, God "turned to the sky, and it had been (as) smoke. He said to it and to the earth: 'Come together, willingly or unwillingly''.
    2. “We made from water every living thing....
    3. ''We Created Mankind, In The Best Of Images''.
    4. ''Call to mind, when your Lord announced to the angels: I am about to place a vicegerent on the earth. They said: Will You place there someone, who creates disorder and blood shed, while we glorify You with your praise and extol your holiness? God admonished them: I know that which you know not''.
    5. ''He taught Adam all the names of things and He showed them to the angels and asked: Tell me the names of these if you truly think you can?''
    6. ''They said, ‘May You be glorified! We have knowledge only of what you have taught us. You alone are the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.''
    7. ''Then he asked Adam to tell them the names and he did. God said: Did I not tell you that I know what is hidden in the heaven and the earth, and that I know what you reveal and what you conceal?''
    8. ''Also call to mind, when We told the angels, ‘Bow down before Adam,’ they all bowed. But not Lucifer, who refused and was arrogant, he was disobedient.''
    9. ''We said to Adam, live with your wife in this garden. Both of of you eat freely there as you will, but, do not go near this tree, or you will both become wrongdoers.''
    10. ''But, Satan made them slip , and removed them from the state they were in. We decreed: Go forth, some of you are enemies of others, and there is for you in the earth a place of abode and provisions for a time.''
    11. ''Thereafter Adam learnt certain prayers from his Lord and began to repent in the words that were taught to him. So He turned towards him with mercy; surely He is oft-returning with compassion towards His creatures and is Ever Merciful.''
    12. ''We decreed, ‘Go forth, all of you, but remember that if there comes to you guidance from Me, then whoso follows My guidance, on them shall come no fear, nor shall they grieve.''
    13. '‘But, those who will disbelieve and reject Our Signs as false, they shall be inmates of the Fire, therein shall they abide.’'

@mortadha hadjsalem ahhh the confusion logic of the Middle East...Talking about apples and asking about melons. We have a complete other topic and you ask me about Tunisia.
Let me be clear to you. A state named Palestine never existed. Palestine was a province of Rome and later of other empires. Under Osmanic Rule it was a shithole and one of the most underdeveloped provinces of the Osmanic empire. The cencus of the Osmanic empire shows that Jews lived in Jerusalem and other cities like Safed, Hebron, Tiberias. I explained in my first posting what the name Palestine means and I am not interested to repeat it. You can read it and accept the facts or still living in your bubble. To say that Jews are "foreigners" means that you contradict your own Koranic teachings. The Koran is mentioning a lot Hebrew Pophets and kings and if the Jews never lived there so why the Koran is telling their stories? The Koran says clearly that the Israel belongs to the children of Israel...
According to British-based Imam Muhammad Al-Hussaini, traditional commentators from the 8th and 9th century onwards have uniformly interpreted the Qur'an to say explicitly that the Land of Israel has been given by God to the Jewish people as a perpetual covenant.[4][13] Hussaini bases his argument upon Qur'an 5:21 in which Moses declares: "O my people, enter the Holy Land which God has prescribed for you, and turn not back in your traces, to turn about losers." He cites the Qur'an commentator Muhammad ibn Jarir al-Tabari, who says that this statement is "a narrative from God... concerning the saying of Moses... to his community from among the children of Israel and his order to them according to the order of God to him, ordering them to enter the holy land." He argued that this promise to the Jews is ever lasting, and further said: "It was never the case during the early period of Islam... that there was any kind of sacerdotal attachment to Jerusalem as a territorial claim." This interpretation of the promise to the Jews as ever-lasting is not uniformly accepted by all Islamic commentators[14]
According to a translation by the Islamic Law scholar Khaleel Mohammed, Ibn Kathir (1301-1373) interpreted Qur'an 5:20-21 using the following terms: "'That which God has written for you' i.e. That which God has promised to you by the words of your father Israel that it is the inheritance of those among you who believe."[15]
It is this Islamic truth that political Islamists vehemently deny.
You find still to this days coins and other artefacts of Jewish history in the holy land. The Kingdom of Judah and the Kingdom of Israel are historical facts. You find the name Israel also on the stele of Merneptah and you also find the destruction of the Jewish Temple on the Arch of Titus in Rome.
Imam Abdul Hadi Palazzi, leader of Italian Muslim Assembly and a co-founder and a co-chairman of the Islam-Israel Fellowship, quotes the Qur'an to support Judaism's special connection to the Temple Mount. According to Palazzi, "The most authoritative Islamic sources affirm the Temples." He adds that Jerusalem is sacred to Muslims because of its prior holiness to Jews and its standing as home to the biblical prophets and kings David and Solomon, all of whom he says are sacred figures also in Islam. He claims that the Qur'an "expressly recognizes that Jerusalem plays the same role for Jews that Mecca has for Muslims".[5]
When asked what the Qur'an says about the State of Israel, Palazzi replied:
The Qur'an cannot deal with the State of Israel as we know it today, since that State only came into existence in 1948, i.e. many centuries after the Qur'an itself was revealed. However, the Qur'an specifies that the Land of Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people, that God Himself gave that Land to them as heritage and ordered them to live therein. It also announces that - before the end of time - the Jewish people will come from many different countries to retake possession of that heritage of theirs. Whoever denies this actually denies the Qur'an itself. If he is not a scholar, and in good faith believes what other people say about this issue, he is an ignorant Muslim. If, on the contrary, he is informed about what the Qur'an and openly opposes it, he ceases to be a Muslim.[122]
Prof. Khaleel Mohammed, Islamic Law scholar of the San Diego State University, noted that Sura 5 verse 21 of the Qur'an, and the medieval exegetes of the Qur'an, say that Israel belongs to the Jews. He translates it thus:
[Moses said]: O my people! Enter the Holy Land which God has written for you, and do not turn tail, otherwise you will be losers." Mohammed here understands "written" to mean this is the final word from God on the subject. In reaction, he was inundated with hate mail.[6]
    The Quran, chapter 17 (Al-Isra), verse 104:[123]
And thereafter We said to the Children of Israel: 'Dwell in the land. When the promise of the Everlasting Life comes We shall bring you all together.
    The Quran, chapter 5 (Al-Ma'ida), verse 20-107:[124]
And [remember] when Moses said to his people: 'O my people, ... enter the Holy Land which God has assigned unto you, and turn not back ignominiously, for then will ye be overthrown, to your own ruin.
So your own Koran is saying it. So do you speak against the word of Allah?
