This is such an important video. When I was at University, my friend, who was studying History and Politics, was told by his Lebanese professor that the Jews were never persecuted in Muslim countries. I was left to argue that wasn't true (which was extremely difficult considering I was arguing against the authority of his professor with limited knowledge). I hope this video becomes a resource for people who end up in similar situations.

Well you gotta know that not all religions practicers are saints even how great or kind a religion is and....theres always negativity everywhere no matter if youre muslim, jews, christians or so on. Whats important is to know how to coexist with others who are different rather than trying to point fingers to other people of what theyre wrong. As a muslim myself, we are teach to hate the sin not the sinner, so, same with this palestine-Israsl conflict, I do actually hate israel no matter what people say but I dont hate the jews, (not saying jews are sinners, just from my pov) as theyre humans afterall....nobody's perfect

The sadistic punishments Jews had to endure for even so much as trying to defend themselves from Muslim aggression would make a normal person want to throw up. Your professor practiced the technique of making up history rather than teaching what actually happened. It is part of "taqia".

@@CocoaAdam lol, yes most religion out there are peacefull, the only exeption is YOUR RELIGION, tell me who else the founder of other World Religions who commited atrocities like your prophet? Were Jesus and Budha killed people? waging war? taking slaves? taking s*xslaves? looting? f*ck*ng underage girl? lusting the wife of his own stepson?
have you ever though if your religion never existed, and your prophet lives today and behave and teaching like what we know? would you still follow him?

My parents are from Tunisia, they had to leave because of hostility from the Arabs. Before the 2WW they lived pretty peacefully with each other but when the hostility started they had to leave. Only many years later my father told us that he spent time as a child in labour camps of the Nazis. Thank you for highlighting this important issue.

My children’s godfather is an Iraqi Christian who came to the US as a refugee with his family in his childhood. His entire village was destroyed for what they believe in. It’s infuriating to me how rarely the persecution of Jews and Christians in Muslim countries is acknowledged as it is truly a genocide, that word is used so commonly by the Left here that it has lost all meaning. Thanks for the info, Oren.

The parts I learned late or knew very little about was 200 million Hindu killed by Muslims over 1200 years of occupation, Africans enslaved by Muslims at numbers 32x that of America, the Armenian Christian and Assyrian Christian genocide by the Turkish Muslim imperialists.
Not to even mention the Balkans, Andalusia (Spain), Rome, etc. and slaves taken from English towns, Irish towns, Iceland, and as far north as Ukraine.
Yet the only nations described as imperialist are Europeans (who fought to abolish African tribal and Islamic slavery) and now Israelis.

This video is about people like me. My mother was four years old when the family had to leave Tunis. She came to Israel after waiting for some months in an interime camp in the south of France.
In Israel she and four siblings shared a tent with her parents and one grandmother. In the harsh winter of 1950 the tent burnt down and they lost the little they had. They had lived like that for several years until enough appartment buildings were built.
My mother was forever marked by those years of extreme hardship. She was frugal, cautious, wouldn't throw anything out. She and my grandmother would sometimes stand for minutes before the radio, trying to pick up a radio station with the songs they loved, songs in Arabic. Like the oldtimes. And still with all that, most of this video is new to me because my mother really saw herself as newly born to this Israeli life. She never said anything about wanting to go back. Israel was her home.
It was easier for these refugees to feel at home because Israel wanted them and did everything possible to give them a new life and they had full rights. That is still not so for Palestinian refugees in Arab countries. In many places they have no rights, no chance to study, to learn a good trade, they are persecuted and forced to go on living in the refugee camps. And the West says nothing. The Jews who fled the Muslim lands were broken hearted but they were given a good future for their children. It is time the same is done for the Palestinians wherever they live, just as Israel did for those Arabs that stayed and became Israeli citizens.

In Lebanon they are not allowed to live outside the camps, they are not allowed to write a will. If they die owning anything it goes to the government. They can't buy land or go to university. A lot can be changed where they live without need for them to go anywhere else. Because the Muslim countries don't act, maybe it is time for the West to tell them to change things a bit.@@CynHicks

As a Kurd from Erbil/Hawler, capital of the Kurdistan Region of iraq, i stand with my brothers and sisters of Jewish people, Jewish Kurds, Israel and the IDF. A lot of Kurds might have lineages of Jewish descent if they take dna and gene tests, due to forced islamification and arabization persecution. For me, i take pride in my Zoroastrian heritage as its great effect on monotheism, which led to the beautiful Judeo-Christian civilization.
At the center of Erbil, there is a UNESCO world heritage citadel, of which part of my family is from. Also, next to the citadel, is a historical neighborhood named in Kurdish the Jewish neighborhood. Even today, if you visit the historical neighborhood, doors with David’s Star and other beautiful Jewish artifacts can be seen of the old houses and buildings. Growing up, i always heard from my family that in the old times, everyone lived with each other in peace and there all kinds of neighbors and traders and even mixed family relations.
As a Kurd, my home, food, and safety will always be open for all Jewish people, as it’s historically been in Kurdistan and will always stay that way. Towards all and everyone, no matter their background and beliefs.
UN Watch has a great and informational video on bringing into light this real and true apartheid. Thank you Oren.

It’s noticing the strong Indian support for Israel that made me not accept the things I was seeing in the news. In Australia I’ve generally stuck to the public broadcasters. On many things they seem most balanced. I don’t want to rely on murdoch owned media because that’s too far right and too sensationalist for me most of the time, so I’ve been relying on the Indian news quite a bit. It’s really interesting. One thing I noticed was that in the story about the mine rescue I didn’t hear about the Australian guy until much later. I hope you enjoy this story if you haven’t read about it. th-cam.com/video/flzU_qu4tz8/w-d-xo.html This is the world I want to live on, where people look out for each others humanity, not want to kill them over a difference of belief.

Since the Mogul Muslim invasion of India in 1000 CE over 200 million Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Sikh & Christians have been attacked and murdered by Muslims.
Christians are constantly attacked by Pakistani Muslims. Young Christian women are routinely abducted & raped by Muslims and then forced to marry a Pakistani Muslim & convert to Islam.
Christians are routinely attacked by Pakistani Muslims who make wild claims that Christians ripped out a page of the Quran and stepped on it or that a Christian said something negative about Mohammad, etc. too frequently.
On August 16, 2023, several hundred Muslims attacked the Christian area in the city of Faisalabad, Punjab after two members of the community were accused of committing “blasphemy.” The mob, armed with stones and sticks, vandalized & set fire to several churches, dozens of houses, & destroyed a Christian cemetery. A few weeks before that they killed a Sri Lankan who they claimed blasphemed Mohammad.
The Pakistani Punjab was the heartland of Sikh people, who are routinely attacked if they leave the Indian Punjab & visit Sikh sites in Pakistan. All of the Sikh Gurus were buried in the Punjab, including Guru Nanak Dev Ji , the founder of Sikhism. The Punjabi language is the language of the Sikh people. Unfortunately, they are often attacked when they visit & pray at the burial sites of their Gurus.

As a Mizrahi Jew, I always found it weird people never talked about our history when speaking about inequality, pogroms or ethnic cleansing.
It is weird it is not mentioned when talking about Jewish history and persecution in general.
Even in Israel this isn't so much part of our history lessons.
I learned about things like the holocaust and pogroms in lybia, the farhud in the middle east,
And the story of sulika (sol),
by listening to mizrahi people families and cultural centers, and by doing some personal research. I also remember i was astonished to hear stories from an old family member of lynchings done to his Jewish friends in morroco.

But she told me her family were actually Baháʼí. I was shocked and asked her how they were still alive. This was 10 years after the Revolution. She and her family were smuggled out in the back of a truck at night. She said they still had relatives in Iran, who told them that her family was on the government's "death list", broadcast on state TV each night. Being on the wrong side of an oppressive regime is a nightmare. God bless the Jews and everyone else who has escape persecution.

My family escaped Iraq before Israel was officially a state. I only discovered the painstaking effort to relocate when a cousin of my safta wept at a Purim party thanking her father for helping smuggle their peniless family out of Iraq. My great grandmother died en route and my then 14-yo grandmother could not attend school and had to take on the mother role. She was a nurse tending to Israeli soldiers wounded in the 1948 war. With no formal education she was truly the wisest, humblest, most kind&generous person I ever have known. Sadly I never realized a touch of racism - even amongst Jews-who all share the same blow of antisemitism- existed in Israel until I made Aliyah. I appreciate you Oren for recognizing and sharing the violent “ethnic cleansing” history committed against the “other” mizrachi Jews. Very meaningful.

My friend's Sikh father was living in Kashmir in the mid 90's. He kept his nose clean, he wasn't a difficult person. One day he had a knock on his door by a friendly Muslim neighbor. The neighbor told him that he had to sell his home and leave. Quietly, sadly, he was told that if that didn't happen, he would be killed. The neighbor was simply a messenger from the local Mosque. So, he fled to Jammu. Living in a secular country, it is hard to comprehend how corrupting, how intrusive, religious control of government can be. Israel is an oasis of liberal democracy in a desert of authoritarian governments. Indeed there are few examples of stable democracies in Muslim countries. Muslim control of government degenerates into authoritarianism, even recently in Turkiye and Tunisia. Strangely, when Muslim refugees seek to resettle, they prefer secular refuge elsewhere.

We Jews see and recognize the mutual respect between Hindus and Jews. Despite widely different cultures, we hold many similar values. In fact, there are various communities of Indian Jews that have continued to exist and prosper as minorities under Hindu leadership. Jews have lived in Cochin for thousands of years, believed to have first come before even the destruction of our second temple. They were given territory and granted rights to build synagogues and houses on it without attached requirements. This sounds like a much more equal society than anything we experienced in Europe or Muslim lands.

Only from Arab countries? beside the pogroms across the Middle East and the Farhud in Iraq, Arabs cleansed Jewish communities in the Levant (land of Israel) under the Ottoman Islamic occupation and the British mandate. Most of todays Arab only cities were Jewish majority communities for centuries, Gaza is a prime example, was a Jewish majority city that was cleansed with consistence aggression and violence by the Arab migration that arrived to the region, the Jewish lineage in the city of Gaza ended in 1929 massacres across the region that caused the last 70 Jewish families to flee the city and the Arabs destroyed the Jewish quarter.

As a Brit i feel ashamed of how we managed the mandate.
I think part of it was likely real politick. We needed the arabs to help us fight the turks in ww1 and made promises to them that we were then forced to keep after the war.
But we signed on in the 19th century along with the turks and the arabs to set aside land for a jewish state in the levant. And we failed to keep that agreement for almost a century. And even tried to keep the ships from docking with jewish migrants and refugees after ww2.
I do sometimes wonder if things might have turned out better if we had allowed the ottoman empire to stay intact after ww1, but then history shows the ottomans never really made any effort to give jews a homeland either. They sold land to various jewish communities around jerusalem but they never did anything to protect those communities from persecution or pogroms so maybe things would be even worse...

Hi Oren, Thank you for sharing your knowledge. When I was a young boy in the 1950s in New York I heard a lot about the Holocaust because in our congregation there were survivors of the camps and my own mother had left Germany in 1933 at age 15. The stories of the Jews of the Middle East I never heard until years later. Back in 1984, I worked for a few weeks in Morocco and Tunisia. I was impressed with the Jews I met in Morocco and in fact as you mentioned one family I met were quite well off and had access to power. What I mean by that is that the 2 brothers played golf with one of the King's counselors. I attended the Shabbat services and enjoyed my time there but as you also mentioned most of the community had moved to Israel or to Canada (Quebec) by then. I didn't meet any Jewish people in Tunisia. Anyway, over the years I have learned more about the Jews of the Middle East and it is great that you present materials in the way you do here, because these stories are not easily available. I don't know of any comprehensive books on the subject.

I'm an Indian, a Hindu in particular if that matters. Looking at this video I was quite emotional. And reading through the comments I broke out.
This isn't fair. What happened/is happening to these communities is not right. I'm really saddened and filled with tears. I feel really sorry for you people. Now i feel I'm so blessed and glad that I'm a Hindu in India and not in some muslim countries. Thanks for the video.
People just look at the present war involving Isreal. And what people forget to see is the Jewish past and what they all went or still going through elsewhere.
Again thanks for the video. Hope everyone changes and the world becomes a better place to everyone.
Trust me we all pray and worship as per our own religious beliefs. However who knows post death there might not be any god at all, no religion at all. Trust me every religion is man made. The chances of There being no God is very very high. Even if there's one, is not the one who we think the God is. Wake up everyone stop fighting in the name of made up Gods and religions.

People should know what happend to them, and how they lived all these centuries before Israel was re-established, being second class citizens, together with other minorities, who unfortunately didn't get their national states and continue to suffer from attacks, genocides and persecutionsn in the Middle east and Africa.
Mizrahi Jews for a decade or even more lived in refugee tents in Israel, never got a dollar from UN organization for refugees, while these fake human rights organizatuons pretend Mizrahi jews don't exist. But they worked hard and now there are beautiful cities and gardens in Israel instead of these tents that were on scorched lifeless land.

We were taught at high school the complete opposite.
That the Israelis were the problem.
After watching many other videos of the Israeli families who were attacked by Hamas and how they reacted with sadness and disbelief, but no real hate in their hearts.
Plus watching your very informative videos on whats been happening for many centuries to minority groups, i have come to my own conclusion.
I feel very helpless and hopeless, unable to stop the fighting but i will pray everyday for every Israeli, Jewish, Christian, Hindu and Bhaihai family who has lost sons, daughters, mothers, fathers and grand parents and friends, due to this religious ideology of superiority and delusion, which will only cause more pain.
There will come a day, when these atrocities will no longer occur.

Approximately 5 percent of the Middle Eastern population identifies as Christian, down from 13 percent in the early 20th century. Cyprus stands as the only Christian majority country in the region, with Christians comprising between 76 percent and 78 percent of its total population, primarily adhering to Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Lebanon follows with around 40 percent Christians, predominantly Maronites. Egypt has the next largest proportion of Christians (mainly Copts), constituting approximately 10 percent of its total population. The Eastern Aramaic-speaking Assyrians in northern Iraq, northeastern Syria, southeastern Turkey, and parts of Iran have faced ethnic and religious persecution for centuries, with many congregating in specific areas in Iraq and Syria. P.S. -- In other words, the decline of the Christian population in the Middle East is similar to the decline of the Jewish population in the Middle East outside of Israel.

This one about the histories of Jews in other lands hits home. My grandparents all came to Canada in 1906-ish, fleeing the pogroms of eastern Europe. I know nothing about their lives there; it's as if my history starts in Canada with the birth of my parents in 1918 and 1920.
My wife's mom's family was expelled, penniless from Egypt in 1948. They had already been expelled from Portugal during the infamous Spanish Inquisition. Her dad was sent to Israel by his parents, all by himself, to Israel in 1943 when he was only 13. He slept on the beach, scrounging for food.

The Ethnic cleansing of Jews in the Muslim countries was perpetrated by the Zionists . The Zionists tricked , manipulated those Jews in Iraq , Iran , Syria, Tunisia , Morroco , Algeria etc.. to migrate in Israel before and after 1948. The Zionists even killed fellow Jews in those countries to make it appear that their government is Ethnic Cleansing them so that they will Flee and go to Israel. There are numerous books published by Arab Jews ( Avi Shlaim ) who came from Iraq how they were tricked to migrate to Israel even though they don't want because they live in the upper class of the society. Even today all the Arab Jews in Israel who came from the Muslim countries are being marginalize by the ruling Ashkenazi Jews ( European ) . Israel was created by the Zionists as a refuge from the persecution and holocaust. The Jews in the muslim countries are living comfortably , peacefully in their homeland together with the muslims. These Jews doesn't want at all to leave their homeland , their language is arabic , their culture is arab and live in harmony with the muslims but the Zionists manipulated them. Talking about inability to convert from Islam, my country has the same thing happening for the 23/24/25 years now. I'm a Buddhist and one of my very distant relative went through an annoying situation.
She was born into a Muslim family, but her parents were so poor at that time that they had to give her up for adoption. She was adopted by a Buddhist family and raised as a Buddhist. Because of that, she never in her life practiced Islam, she also consumed pork and alcohol. Apparently, the religious department knew about her background and they kept on meeting with her to persuade her to practice Islam.
There are a very few cases in my country concerning similar situations. They faced discriminations, not by other religions, but by Muslims themselves.

@@emreakkocdev Get real. Since the world's most populous religions; Christianity & Islam, make up 4 billion people, & without Judiasm there would be neither group; Jews who are a measely 15 million world wide, have had a HUGE influence on culture & history. It isn't a matter of "the world turning around you.". That's pure envy. If all of the bs about the Jews controlling the world were true (used to excuse genocide of Jews) than none of Jewish genocides would have happened, & historically, I know of at least 5 genocides against Jews, & there may be more than that.
Such a tiny group, population-wise, & such a tiny piece of land; Israel: yet the world constantly ties itself in knots over "the Jewish question."

This is a wonderful and educational TH-cam video. My family was of European origin, but my mother and her brothers were born in Palestine 1927, 1925, 1926. We have had neighbors whose family lived in Egypt and left in the 1950 when that country had a military coup. We remember what we are comfortable remembering, and this plays a big part in how we perceive our personal histories.

I learned about the holocaust from my German language teacher in the late 60's. She started every first class of the year with her and her family's history and how she immigrated to Australia, to explain why she had a tattoo of numbers on her inner forearm. Every member of her family died in a concentration camp, she survived because she was a very young teenage girl and the soldiers had use for her. Her story was horrific. Thankyou for these videos Oren ❤ 🇮🇱

@phyllis In grades 8 & 9 I attended a large school where one of the teachers had a number tattoo on her arm. My other classmates told me why. When I would walk past her in the hall I would see it. Wish she had been my teacher as it would have been interesting to talk with her. Glad your teacher told the class about what she went through!
For myself I read The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom who hid Jewish people her family didn't even know from the Nazi's. It is a powerful book.
