I don't get the thought process of needing the newest and shiniest cameras all the time, they're functionally exactly the same and most of the people buying them aren't professionals, they range from beginners to enthusiasts so you don't need the newest equipment because you're not a pro level photographer yet and you don't actually need 10% faster autofocus or 20% more megapixels, you're just falling for the hype. There are legendary photos that have were shot 20+ years ago on "ancient" technology yet they're better pictures than most of us will ever create, focus on your skill and you'll realise the camera system won't matter very much
Exactly. It's the same in short films, i've seen plenty of bad shorts shot with the most innovative cameras, and amazing ones that used mobile phones to shoot.
TALENT matter more than the TOOLS. A talented person with enough dedication would make their vision a reality regardless of what tools they have.
I agree with your logic, except for when I was jumping from DSLRs to mirrorless. Honestly DSLRs took amazing photos and still are comparable to modern cameras, but for me what got me to buy into the new wave of cameras was the size. Because the new cameras are smaller, and the lenses are smaller, I find myself using my camera more, a lot more! Now that mirrorless has had its run of models, I’m always pointing fellow enthusiasts towards the sony A7ii and A7iii. It’s the perfect camera for the price, the all in one package.

I use Sony Alpha 7 gen 1 and it totally agree with you as a beginner I learned a lot from it. In future will upgrade to 7iii especially for thr autofocus Speed and accuracy. This is where I feel my camera is now falling shot on. Thanks for your video!

I picked up a used A7III with the 24-105 f/4 for £1800. When I tested it in store I found the shutter count to be just 701, so basically new! Managed to trade in an old RX10, along with a load of old games I never played. So no actual money paid. The shop in the UK (cex) has a 2 year warranty on all items too

I'm seriously considering cashing in a couple of my Canon bodies and getting one of these and a good adaptor . I would prefer an a7 riii , but even used they're still a little out of my price range.

I have the funds to buy an A7IV, but I'm switching from the Nikon system, so I need to invest in at least one lens for Sony, for example Tamron 17-28 f2.8, so the A7III will be a more reasonable variant for me. Hi! I like your channel and the look of your videos a lot! You are a creative person! So you just made me buy a used A7III with a regular Sony 35mm 1.8. Traded some used Nikon DX stuff, I did not use any more and came out clearly under 1000 $/€! Until now, I filmed with an Iphone 11 Pro and a Nikon D610 because it was what I had there. 😁 I think that this will be a huge improvement after more than 100 videos! And I already bought an adapter for all my old manual Nikkor glasses! 🤓 All the best from Berlin! 🤖

I in no way am downtalking the a73 I remember how big it was when it first came out and it still is used for alot of relevant content but the a7c has alot of newer +improved features over the a73

I've been shooting a7iii for the past 2 years and still saving up and justifying Fx3 purchase, but a7iii forces me to learn its limitations and learn how to make a great image out of it regardless. I think it will help me when I upgrade because I'll understand what it's actually doing for me.

It think it’s more easier to handle than LOG.

I just purchased an A7iii today with Tamron 28-70mm 2.8. I rented this combo a few months ago and liked it.
Also, in your experience, do you think purchasing a 3 yr warranty is worth it? Typically I would skip, but cameras get a lot of use (🤞🏼✨) and are somewhat fragile. Not sure if most people skip that as well. Ty!
As long as you buy from legit places, I think it's fine.

Go fx3 keep a73 for backup cam and photo. Save save save for the fx3 over the a74 .you will be a heck of a lot happier . It has internal fans to keep it cool less chance of overheating and the less heat protects the image as well especially in high frame rates .plus microphone ,zoom lens button 120 4k 10bit ,12800 dual native iso

Hi kensei it all depends how much money you have if you do it for fun or profesional . To buy new gear… I haven to answer some questions . Will this provide value to my clients and can I upsale my work? If the answer is no then I ask myself can this gear help me do my job easier? Faster? I now haven 2 Sony a7 iii and yes s3 fx3 a74 would help my so much but the market where I am into it is not paying well so that mean’s I have to stick with the a7 Iii for this season and the next one. Then we will see. 😂 my crazy analysis 😂

You can. But I wouldn't do that.
It'll cause the space around the video because the footage size and timeline size are not same.
About slow motion, if you can shoot in 120fps, that's a better option

I also got 2 used a9 bodies for $1500/ea and love them for photo but I'm really considering swapping one or both of them for a7iii to have multiple bodies for video also
