Her parents got married back in the days without the internet. Relationships then and relationships now are two very different thing. You can't just wait for the right one now because there are not a lot of good men available anymore
I agree, but if she's expecting that, she's will likely miss out entirely. A relationship isn't all smooth sailing; you have to be able to work through the ups and downs in each other's lives, not just jump ship as soon as something gets uncomfortable or you won't make it to the point that she's seeing in her parent's relationship now. Honestly, nobody should be shamed into marriage just because they are 'grown assed'. The thing is that its never too late, and theres no rush to find the one. This perfectly sums up the issue these days, which is likely on both sides. People want it all, and aren't willing to comprise. That's why you'll end up staying single and regretting your approach later in life. It's a generational thing... Her mum comes from a time when things were different, people were different, and society operated differently. If you want to be a strong, independent woman who wants it all, that's fine and great, more power to you, but then prepare for disappointment in the majority of cases when it comes to finding a long-term partner. It's the sad but honest truth of the matter. Personally I'd marry the mum over the daughter, and I'm closer to the daughter's age.

Her mum said that she does want to get married though. I also find that actions or intentions are reactionary, so one side does or wants x because the other side does or wants y. This is why compromise is key, in a variety of ways. I think the dynamics of gender cohesion have become incredibly warped, which makes dating and romance so difficult in the modern day. It's almost like a war between the sexes. Your point about successful men is very true... A mainstream dating website/app did a study which found that 80% of the women on their site wanted 10% of the men. Add into that more preferences a lady may have, and the pool then shrinks much further. I have many female friends, and have to honestly say that they do make bad choices when it comes to men. They'll always pick the players over the more stable and decent men, then be upset when they're let down or messed around. I try to encourage them to look for the good ones, but they seem to not be inclined that way. I find it really strange personally. As a gent I really struggle to find a good lady; by that I mean of good heart and character. I prioritise those qualities over anything arbitrary like career, wealth etc. It seems many on both sides want and say the same things, yet those people don't tend to meet.

This perfectly sums up the issue these days, which is likely on both sides. People want it all, and aren't willing to comprise. That's why you'll end up staying single and regretting your approach later in life. It's a generational thing... Her mum comes from a time when things were different, people were different, and society operated differently. If you want to be a strong, independent woman who wants it all, that's fine and great, more power to you, but then prepare for disappointment in the majority of cases when it comes to finding a long-term partner. It's the sad but honest truth of the matter. Personally I'd marry the mum over the daughter, and I'm closer to the daughter's age.

@@norapeace6526 @Nora Peace I hear what you're saying. I find that's the case on both sides though, people don't want to settle down, for a variety of reasons. Her mum said that she does want to get married though.
I also find that actions or intentions are reactionary, so one side does or wants x because the other side does or wants y. This is why compromise is key, in a variety of ways. I think the dynamics of gender cohesion have become incredibly warped, which makes dating and romance so difficult in the modern day. It's almost like a war between the sexes.
Your point about successful men is very true... A mainstream dating website/app did a study which found that 80% of the women on their site wanted 10% of the men. Add into that more preferences a lady may have, and the pool then shrinks much further.
I have many female friends, and have to honestly say that they do make bad choices when it comes to men. They'll always pick the players over the more stable and decent men, then be upset when they're let down or messed around. I try to encourage them to look for the good ones, but they seem to not be inclined that way. I find it really strange personally.
As a gent I really struggle to find a good lady; by that I mean of good heart and character. I prioritise those qualities over anything arbitrary like career, wealth etc.
It seems many on both sides want and say the same things, yet those people don't tend to meet.

@@M4nvrs so many things you said I agree with. I definitely think that society has made it a war where we’re competing or arguing with the opposite sex instead of building a bridge. I also think that women and men tend to go after people that could possibly hurt them instead of the easy safe choice. I guess the safe choice is too boring for them. Or in my case, I’m not attracted, the guy is too old, or he’s not my type!! I would love a good guy that I ACTUALLY liked!!! But that’s been very difficult thus far for me. And yes, character, morals, respect are all requirements, but is that person a provider? It’s like you can’t get everything you want!
