Nope. Not if everything is paid off. My wife & I have done this for 11 years. We live 5 minutes apart. She had a house before we got married and so did I. Never had one infidelity issue and we are as nuts about each other as the day we met. Just because others have their own philosophy about it doesn't mean it's concrete. That's just them. Other people's ideals should have absolutely no bearing on anybody else's lives. Every situation is different. We've done it our way for 11 years and we'll keep doing it.

The whole point of a marriage is to be together. For a companion that is always there. The joining of two lives, in every sense. Living separately defeats the whole purpose. Just get a big house with your own bedrooms at least. I theorise that she has commitment issues. She’s scared of letting a person that deep into her life. She’s used to being on her own and not needing to take others feelings and opinions into consideration and she doesn’t want to change that.
